    Slow POST due to APFS?

Ok, thanks. By the way, were you able to solve the slow post problem?

    Slow POST due to APFS?

Ok, I understand the workaround. But i still don't get it why APFS on my Skylake desktop is so slow booting to Clover and my Skylake laptop boots lightning fast into Clover. I replaced ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi with the actual APFS.EFI driver from my system and before Clover is shown I see this (see attachment). Note that this is NOT the regular output of APFS, that follows after the HDD light stops flashing (after the attached screen) and just before Clover is shown. Any Clover gurus out there that can shed a light on it?

    Slow POST due to APFS?

Like making a Carbon Copy from an APFS system and restoring it to a HFS+ formatted system? I understand that the parameter to run the installer to keep HFS+ has been removed for Mojave. Tricking the installer... that would be something else (and above my pay grade to figure out).

    Slow POST due to APFS?

Unfortunately with Mojave we don't have that choice anymore...

    Slow POST due to APFS?

    I have exactly the same problem. Before I had High Sierra with HFS+, now Mojave with APFS. Here's what I mean: https://mega.nz/#!VJ41HQZZ!QcEqOIVOgwpvbKzkBh9vrJ1RIoDebE7t6T26-cpFj5Q I also boot from an NVME (Samsung) and don't have TRIM in Clover.plist, I don't have an extra SSD installed. It's a Gigabyte Z170x-gaming 3 mobo with a RX570 graphic card. I have the same EFI drivers installed except for NvmExpressDxe-64.efi, that one I don't have and I do have PartitionDxe-64.efi Clover is v4784 I noticed that two prebooters appeared after installing Mojave: filevault and install -- I hide them both: <array> <string>\EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI</string> <string>preboot</string> </array> The GUI scan is as follows, it shows only MacOS, MacOS Recovery and Win10 (though Ubuntu won't show despite the Linux true setting--but that's for later concern): <dict> <key>Entries</key> <true/> <key>Legacy</key> <false/> <key>Linux</key> <true/> <key>Tool</key> <false/> </dict> The boot section is this: <dict> <key>Arguments</key> <string>keepsyms=1 dart=0 debug=0x100 shikigva=60</string> <key>Debug</key> <false/> <key>DefaultVolume</key> <string>LastBootedVolume</string> <key>Legacy</key> <string>PBR</string> <key>NeverDoRecovery</key> <true/> <key>NeverHibernate</key> <true/> <key>Secure</key> <false/> <key>Timeout</key> <integer>3</integer> <key>XMPDetection</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> Any suggestions?
  6. Sascha, is it possible to check for the other FakeSMC, the one by Slice?

    hibernation frustration

Hi, I've had help here at InsanelyMac to configure my pc to an almost perfect Mac, for which I'm very grateful. So a big thank you to all developers and in particular to netkas, Slice (FakeSMSC and HWsensors), Maldon for DSDT, vit9696, lvs1974, Rehabman and barijaona. However, there’s one thing I cannot get to work: hibernation. I cannot get it to resume after hibernating. Clover shows “hibernated” but as soon as it starts, my machine reboots. I've followed the guides by Slice and Allan on hibernation, tried hibernationfixup (kext and config.plist), tried every combination of boot arguments and kext available, but to no success. (I've used FakeSMC from both Slice and Kozlek, currently running FakeSMAC from Slice's HWSensors3-rev43.pkg (installed in CLOVER/kexts/other)). I used darkwake=8 because it was (pre high sierra time) the only way to wake up and not having a black screen and keeping sound. On high Sierra I tried darkwake=1 and... I got picture and sound after sleep, so that works. I don't prefer it though, that during power nap the screen comes back alive too. But that's just a matter of turning of the screen manually. I noticed that after upgrading to clover r4380 that i had to install EmuVariableUefi-64.efi. Before I did not needed it, somehow my rig had a working nvram. Anyway, I installed with clover setup the AptioMemoryFix and removed OsxAptioFix2Drv, EmuVariableUefi-64.efi and the RC scripts. It looks like nvram is working properly again. Both the darkwake=1 and installation of AptioMemoryFix could not help succeeding. I still get an instant reboot after clover tries to run the recognised hibernated system. Clover (v4380) removed osxfatbinarydrv but also with the driver: no start after hibernation. Here's something remarkable: the size of sleepimage is every single time 2147483648 bytes, but my ram is 32GB! That doesn't look right, does it? Anyway, I'm using a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 EU motherboard with a MSI GTX 750 videocard and I got QuickSync with the HD530 working. The system boots from a Samsung 256GB NVME 960 EVO, formatted as HPFS+ (I did not make the transition to APFS, though I did put the APFS.EFI in the Clover drivers folder). I've been pulling my hairs out, because I cannot get hibernation to work. Help is appreciated as I'm almost bald! Many thanks in advance, Eddie

[Guide] Sierra / High Sierra on GA Z170M-D3H / DSDT

A while back I experienced the same and found that the 960 tops the max of Blackmagic speed test. Someone suggested AJA and it gave the proper readings. Now, it still might be that Blackmagic has the max at 2000. If that's the case the AJA might be of service. If not then AJA should show the same readings and, obviously, there's something wrong.

os x sierra SMBIOS iMac 10.1 black screen

Or you could: Open Terminal Enter this command (it is one line) sudo nano /System/Library/Extensions/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/Contents/Info.plist Arrow down to where you see <key>ConfigMap</key> Replace the board-id "Mac-F221DCC8" with "Mac-F2268CC8". Save the file by pressing Ctrl+O, then enter. Exit by pressing Ctrl+X Rebuild the kernel cache using the following two commands in terminal: sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel sudo kextcache -system-caches Reboot
  10. It seems that Airdrop between IOS and OSX devices are limited to Macs later than 2012. Check the requirements here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirDrop Aside from this there's Continuity Activation Tool, you could give that one a go.

    H61N-USB3 on Sierra with Clover

Great job tluck! I have a PCI card with the Fresco Logic FL1009. It worked OOB on Yosemite, but not with El Capitan. Could you specify what you added to your DSDT? In other words, what do I have to add to my DSDT to get it work? Thanks, Eddie

    AppleHDA for El Capitan discussion

Hi guys, Hopefully you can help me get some sound back through my speakers. I had sound working on my rig (Asus P5Q motherboard with ALC1200) with Yosemite's (10.10.5) native AppleHDA that I patched with Clover. I replaced 8508EC10 with 8808EC10, set FixHDA_8000 to true and Audio Injected to 12. However with El Capitan and this method I have no luck. Thanks, Eddie
