use a WiFi scanner and look and see what’s around you?

just change all freq/channel ....nothing...maybe is 'cause I use win8 driver.... btw it works great too with 2.4 ...dn't have a gbps connection to internet, so, 2.4 is ok too... :-)

Hi guys, my (first) hackintosh is running fine. Since Catalina is around the corner i was wondering what would be the best to upgrade? Will I be able to upgrade via macOS? Is a clean install required (hoefully not), do I have to update clover as well?

My EFI is already Catalina ready so when the update comes out you can just update via Mojave (make sure clover and all kexts are up to date beforehand) but before you do check on here first as I will update to the release version the day it comes out and report on here if it’s clean and good. :)

GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX580 8GB HD: WD Blue SN500 High-Performance NVMe Internal NVMe SSD

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX MP 2.0 16 GB (2 X 8 GB), DDR4, 3000 MHz, C15 

 this is my system can you help me the all working EFI , I tried all EFI  Z390 . some times its boot from USB. never boot from internal HDD 

most of the times its crash OSX loading. also show the CPU is i9

I don’t think the wd Blue NVMe drive is compatible, can you test using a standard ssd drive and install macOS to that and see if it works and make sure your using the correct dsdt for your Rx 580

The way that WD Blue nvme controller operates makes it incompatible with Mac OS. Not sure if a future firmware update can fix it. You will likely see NVME Command time out from IONVMeFamily.kext.  

I believe this drive is DRAM-less which means it doesn't have any DRAM buffer to store the mapping tables for translating logical block addresses and also doesn't have the feature to borrow system memory to do such thing. It relies on a tiny bit of memory embedded on the controller chip. That may interfere with Mac Nvme driver and create a timing related issue that causes data corruption on hackintohs. I suggest we skip all DRAM-less nvme. Stick to the known working: Samsung evo :)

Im on Catalina from b1 dp ...all working good ...only 64bit apps... now my workstation for video and photo are in Catalina B8 ...all perfect... ...preferred clean install but...it’s ok upgrade from 10.14.6 too...

can you test the sidecar display with an ipad and see if you have good latency?

Thanks brother. I've been so busy too. It's good to have more work than none, isn't it? The driver works well but I still get interference and occasional audio loss using Apple Airpod. It's not a big deal but worth mentioning.

As we all prep up for Catalina. Make sure all 32 bit apps are gone. Only 64 bit apps are allowed.

All my 32bit apps ended ages ago now...I’m all set and tested to upgrade.

how strange about the AirPods but then again they are utter {censored} tbh...lol

i use the galaxy buds on my iPhone and hack and I love them and they work flawlessly for me on everything.

I can't understand... Since I was thinking is could be caused by USB, I tried to do the same with a HDD in SATA : same problem.

So you think I juste have to put off my battery ? ... I can try.

 

I'm really sure that my file is not corrupted. I compared shasum btw install file and copied file AND https://github.com/notpeter/apple-installer-checksums... 

 

In tried another way with command line startosinstall and I can go to the 2nd reboot but I have a new error...

Edit : I just tried with another version of Mojave (14.4.xx) and same error ! It's due to the installer...

 

Edit 2 : We found the solution : we replace (for the installation) my 16go RAM with one 4go and it ran properly without any change of the EFI ! ;-)

COOL!!! :-)

...install with minimum ram and without usb plugged--- (lol I install with all usb connected, with a 3,7cpu pushed to 5,0ghz and with 48gb ram 3000 oc'ed to 3300 but...I'm a lost case) ahahahah btw glade you have find a solution! :-D
