freakermonguer
I have this exact build. Before doing any upgrade, in this case from Catalina to Big Sur I always make a full backup copy of my drive onto another one with SuperDuper!. I NEVER EVER had a problem with this before Catalina. I always did my copy, and it always worked. This time something is happening. When I try to boot from the copied drive the Hakcintosh powers off.... Looking at the verbose log I have no clue of whats happening... I hope that somebody could help me with this.... Why the computer is rebooting? What is disliking in the copy of the disk? letsdrink
Something is going wrong when I try to update to 11.3 from 11.2.3. 9900KS / Z390 PRO, OpenCore v0.6.8, SMBios iMac19,1. Just as usual I'am trying to update from the Software Update. What's going on: 1. The update is downloaded 2. Computer reboots 3. A new system boot option appears. 4. A screen appears with a black background, the apple logo, and a progress bar. 5. At about 80 percent of progress, a prompt to enter my password appears. 6. I enter my password and the system boots up to version 11.2.3. Never had this problem before. SIP is enabled. Update: deleting all disk snapshots, booting from recovery, checking the disk with the Disk Utility, csrutil reset, allowing the machine to autoselect boot disk solved the problem Edited April 29, 2021 by letsdrink solved Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/339980-audiogods-aorus-z390-pro-patched-dsdt-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/174/#findComment-2756808 Share on other sites

Sounds like a problem with your general install fella, you could try running a disk repair or disabling sip and or disabling the SecureBootModel and see if it helps but I have a feeling that you would be better off just doing a TM backup of your system if you don’t have one already and then fresh installing 11.3 and then recovering your backup. That’s Always a good thing to do now and again anyway. juan e. jot
Just did my first build from source of the OpenCorePkg-master folder, because after I updated to 11.3, macOS expected (but ran fine without) a new iMac19,1 firmware version, that acidanthera had updated to emulate in the latest 069 build. Not wanting to wait (and having backed everything up, in case of borkage), I built 069, ported over anything new to my EFI & while I needed to update my config.plist "CustomDelays" field from string to boolean and set it at as false (just as a quick nag on bootup; not preventing bootup), it seems to work fine for basic (not heavily tested) use. I'll look forward (and update) to AG's 069 Aorus Z390 Pro/WiFi update in May, should he choose to provide it, because something tells me he'll be more thorough than I was with really scouring Differences.pdf for helpful/necessary changes to config.plist settings. I kinda wonder, for example, whether the new Quirks Property "EnableVectorAcceleration" is going to be at all salient to performance with what any of us do with Coffee Lake gen 8/9 processors. Won't put them in M1 speed/power consumption territory, in any event… More practically, I wonder whether any of the audio changes will affect Music DRM; I’ve only tried with this updated EFI since 11.3, but stations seem to have trouble playing while songs on playlists do not have such trouble. UPDATE: I've tried it with my old 068 EFI, then the new (pre)069 EFI, and now stations work again; must have been an intermittent server issue. Never mind. Edited April 30, 2021 by juan e. jot Removed audio concern. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/339980-audiogods-aorus-z390-pro-patched-dsdt-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/174/#findComment-2756845 Share on other sites
panosru
Hello! Could someone help me configure wake on lan? I'm trying to do some home automation and my goal is to be able to power up my computer remotely (from within the home network though). I have enabled wake on lan in two places in BIOS, I checked "Wake for Ethernet network access" from System Preferences -> Energy Saver, I have also run "sudo pmset -a networkoversleep 1", I'm not sure if I have to change /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist from: <array> <string>/usr/sbin/mDNSResponder</string> </array> to: <array> <string>/usr/sbin/mDNSResponder</string> <string>-UseInternalSleepProxy</string> <string>0</string> </array> I haven't done that part yet as I'm not sure what it does exactly. Also previously I applied the SSDT-GPRW patch (which I like that I only can wake up my computer from power button), could it be that it also prevents wake on lan when the computer is powered off? Thanks! UPDATE: I removed the patch, and the wake on lan works from sleep, but not when the pc is powered off :/ UPDATE2: I found this kext IntelMausi-WOL, and it enables WOL for macOS, I'm not sure if anyone tried it before, I guess I replace InteliMausi with that kext to make it work? UPDATE3: I'm not sure why, but after I shut down my PC the power button wasn’t working; thus I could not turn it back on, it took me about an hour of troubleshooting and a couple of pants changing, once I turned it on, I reverted EVERYTHING back to as they were and about WOL, thanks, but no thanks! OpenCore only for BigSur via me I’m afraid. the latest version of clover works fine with big sur but you will need to update my EFI to it to use the OS. Go with OpenCore, you won’t regret it. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/339980-audiogods-aorus-z390-pro-patched-dsdt-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/174/#findComment-2757011 Share on other sites
