dredhorse
on top of that, I will need to replace my motherboard and I have two installs of macOS, one is the normal used install, and one is a full backup of it.. wonder if I need to make some changes because of that too. The NVRAM is saved in the "harddrive" or the Bios? Would just copying over the EFI from one disk to the other disk be enough even with AppleSecureBoot? AudioGod
Sounds like you didn’t clear your nvram between EFIs as The SecureBootModel is set correctly for both EFIs. Disable it or have it set to j137 or default. rob1980
A while ago I posted about my display being over sized .. or should I say incorrect resolution during boot (boot logo, OS selection screen and apple logo), I played about today and confirmed I was stuck at 1080p on a ultrawide monitor. Turns out it only happens using displayport, HDMI is fine and everything displays as it should but Im limited to 100Hz now rather than 144hz. If anyone knows a reason / fix for Displayport that would be great, I appreciate this is not really a Hackintosh issue but as most here have the same hardware its probably a good place to try. Ive ordered a new HDMI 2.1 cable anyway in case mines ancient and not up to spec. peanutman314
@AudioGod Thanks so much for your hard work. I've been postponing the update of my 10.14 system, but the time had come where I had to do it. By just copy/pasting your setup I got everything up and running in like 2 hours (incl. making the bootable installer and the install itself). Everything just worked out of the box. I don't think I've ever had a smoother experience in the 10+ years of me doing hackintosh installs. So thank you for sharing this. In case anyone else is wondering, I did this with the F12L BIOS version and it went fine (the guide mentions F12K, which isn't available for download on the official site anymore). 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/339980-audiogods-aorus-z390-pro-patched-dsdt-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/171/#findComment-2754715 Share on other sites

stavidawg
Thanks @AudioGod updated without any issues as well! Only question I have is if we should be using the ROM address you have listed? I used the instructions for creating a ROM here https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/universal/iservices.html#serial-number-validity but didn't see the first 6 of the Mac address you are using appear in the provided list https://gitlab.com/wireshark/wireshark/-/raw/master/manuf? freakermonguer
On 2/11/2021 at 10:15 PM, AudioGod said: Sorry buddy, I missed your original message. Big Sur will work with OpenCore 0.6.4 or higher although I recommend you use V0.6.6 from the off. OpenCore is free from bios version dependency as there’s no dsdt involved so your free to stick on the bios revision your currently using or use the latest version available and just dial back in the settings on page one. Your choice. to upgrade to big sur update to OpenCore 0.6.6 first. As for usb randomly cutting out, well that a Z390 Pro bug and it also happens on a few other Gigabyte boards including AMD X570 and B550 boards. As far as I know it’s still not been fixed on the Z390 Pro and there’s not a lot that can be done about it other then bugging Gigabyte. (It happens in windows too). Tip - Download the latest OC EFI from here and copy your serial number, uuid, MLB and MAC Address from your old config.plist to the new one and stick it on a USB macOS Install drive and make sure it works for you. Follow the steps on the install update notice that you can find on the top of page 172. Everything you need to know and download is there waiting for you. (The V0.6.6 EFI will work with Mojave, Catalina or Big Sur) Im sorry I'm late to thank you about this. But I got into some personal problems and couldn't keep following the forum. Thanks for trying buddy, Try resetting you’re nvram, The lag should be straight away if the framebuffers are wrong and if you have the 5700xt in there your need to remove it or bypass it to test properly unfortunately. Ok then in that case the frame buffers are not aligned. I tried...lol This is why I have never released a igpu only version of the EFI, way to many variables from system to system.
