GT710 works OOB with Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave. Currently no problems with my Optiplex 780 and GT 710 with Mojave 10.14.4 DP2 Beta. Everything works. Gaboro
Is there a way to upgrade the Optiplex 780 with E8400 CPU and GT710 from High Sierra to Mojave directly?
ernani
Hi everyone, After upgrading yesterday to 10.14.4, my Optiplex 780 reboots when it attempts to wake from sleep? Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Any thoughts on how to address it? My configuration is: Dell Optiplex 780: C2Q Q9400@2,66GHz, 16GB RAM DDR3, Gigsbyte GeForce GT710 2GB, SSD: 10.14.4. Thanks! For anyone facing the same problem as myself, I managed to resolve it by turning off hibernation (by pmset) and using darkwake=8 at clover boot options. Now my hackintosh wakes up as it should :)

cele_82
Is there a guide for installing 10.14 on Dell 780 ? Thanks
MacPeet
@ cele_82 No, nobody has written yet. In principle as in 10.13! 10.14 needs the telemetry patch and Optiplex780 needs rollback AppleHDA, as already described. HD5450 no longer works with Mojave. You need a GT710, for example, which supports metal graphics. You have to read a lot and find your way to Mojave yourself. Currently I have no time and no desire for a guide. The old box is still working with 10.14.5 DP2:
chris1111
On Dell Optiplex 790 to make booting UEFI and to have Clover GUI really good you need this Driver64UEFI CsmVideoDxe-64.efi The screen is identical as booting ESP legacy
Dniel97
I managed to install Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6 on my Optiplex 780 with a XFX AMD Radeon 7XXX 1GB. I used the AMDRadeonX4000.kext, AMDRadeonX4000GLDriver.bundle, IOAccelerator2D.plugin and IOAcceleratorFamily2.kext drivers from Sierra 10.12.6 and Verde.kext to get QE/CI working. I didn't inject ATI Graphics and I didn't patched the frame buffer or using a patched DSDT for the graphics card. Sometimes I get weird red artifacts on the screen, is there a way to fix them? The artifacts go away if I zoom in, zoom out or scroll.

georgeg16
Hey everyone, I don't know if this thread is dead but I need help with one little thing. I have just installed High Sierra 10.13.0 and used Rico's dsdt and config, now when I boot from Clover it just goes to a black screen while it's loading half way. I saw on here people using a GT1030 which is what I have but I don't know why it doesn't work for me. Cheers guys
MacPeet
Thread is not dead. GT1030 needs web driver. MacPeet
Good news, my Optiplex780 is still working with Catalina. Installation Catalina directly on my Mojave SSD with SMBIOS iMac13,1 After the installation I am back on SMBIOS iMac10,1. Many new things in Catalina. iTunes no longer exists. This is just music now. Own movies now in AppleTV and podcasts now in the podcast app. Sync iDevices now in the Finder. 1

MacPeet
@unrealpants With ATI Radeon HD 5450 no way. You need a metal card, example GT710 Kepler works OOB. TP-Link TL-WN851ND (Atheros needs a rollback in Catalina). Can I explain later, install once!

alfonzotan
I stumbled across this thread while idly wondering if the old Optiplex 760 in my dedicated MAME cabinet could be upgraded to something more modern (it's been running Snow Leopard for... well, for a quite a while). Made several variations of the High Sierra, Yosemite and El Cap USB sticks following the guide in the original post and several different DSDTs from the thread, but none of them will boot into the OS X installer. Going -v gives me nothing, just a long pause before the system restarts and takes me back to the Clover boot screen. Any suggestions? With this many variations and no joy at the same error point, I'm reasonably sure I'm missing something obvious. Not like this is life or death, but it'd be fun to see how the new HLSL vector effects look...
