Important preparation with HD5450 (780/760/755) With High Sierra, there is a black screen with the HD5450, because C2D and C2Q have no Injector iGPU. Since High Sierra, the HD5450 needs a rollback from Sierra. WhateverGreen.kext + Lilu.kext does not work with LegacyBios, unfortunately. Save in advance the following Kext's from your Sierra installation from /System/Library/Extensions: AMDRadeonX3000.kext AMDRadeonX3000GLDriver.bundle IOAccelerator2D.plugin IOAcceleratorFamily2.kext Note: Optiplex 790 (or higher) with i? CPU with Injector GPU does not require rollback. 7. apfs.efi This is the current apfs.efi from 10.13.4 DP2: apfs.efi.zip The current original apfs.efi can be found after each install or update in usr/standalone/i386/ (use ShowAllFiles!). The new file system is only for SSDs. HDDs continue to work with HFS+. copy the apfs.efi to EFI/Clover/drivers64/ 8. Now High Sierra install on your HDD or SSD (Partitions with Guid scheme) The installation, even with subsequent updates, can take place in several steps. My experiences: APFS two steps HFS+ one step 8.1 With the HD5450 there is a black screen the first time after the install. I take the SSD out of the Dell and connect it to another Mac. Here I am using the app "EasyKext Pro" and doing the rollback from the backup (step 6 above - AMDRadeonX3000.kext, AMDRadeonX3000GLDriver.bundle, IOAccelerator2D.plugin and IOAcceleratorFamily2.kext from Sierra 10.12.6). Reinstall SSD in the Dell and now we get a picture in High Sierra. after installation: 9. Terminal (for unsigned apps) sudo spctl --master-disable 10.   4. Introduction The H370 chipset powers 8th generation Intel Core-i CPUs. Even though the name H370 rings comparable to Z370, the H370 is based on newer silicon. This it also requires some new approaches compared to the Z370. An example would be on-die USB 3.1 and WiFi support. Since this guide is not a "hold-your-hand-every-step" guide, I assume you know: Clover installation and configuration How to create an install medium for MacOS Access and configure the BIOS Have heard of ACPI patching (I'm a newb at this myself) What works Sleep (via DSDT edits and emulated NVRAM) On-board Audio (via CloverALC script) Native power management (without any kext or patch) All USB ports (and only those present are active) iGPU for both acceleration and display dGPU (I'm running an Nvidia GTX 1080) Untested NIC --> I'm using WiFi only What doesn't work Native NVRAM via AptioMemoryFix.efi DMVT Pre-alloc higher than 64MB (but not necessary) Changes to the guide: 22.5.18: Added SSDT hot-patching to enable sleep, replacing DSDT static patching as an alternative. 23.5.18: Add iMac18,1 as alternative SMBIOS config for those relying on the iGPU for output 25.6.18: Added update info 28.8.18: Smalle changes for clarity, changed info for afps loading & updated USB patch for 13.6 1. Installation This guide heavy inspired by the work of /u/corpnewt of /r/hackintosh and his (sorta) Vanilla guide 1.1 Create the install media for MacOS Follow this, if you are using a Mac to start off with. If you are totally new to MacOS, then please check the basic guide Creation of an installer media in windows or linux 1.2 Install Clover on the install media Using the Clover installer, ensure you are installing to the USB medium you are using for the installer. Chose the following options, leaving the others on default: UEFI driver: AptioMemoryFix UEFI driver: ApfsDriverLoader UEFI booting only Install to ESP You have to get your hands on an apfs.efi. A google search can help, or extracting it from the Installer package. Make sure you procure a version matching the MacOS version you are about to install. Place the apfs.efi in drivers64UEFI. 1.2 Adjust the config.plist for the installer You can use the config.plist attached as a guideline, but take a look at it before and at least adjust the SMBIOS - otherwise it won't boot. Attention: The attached plist contains audio patches introduced by a post-install step. If you run into problems, you might remove those. It also contains a manual slide value, which should normally not be needed, but works fine for me. It is also tuned for usage with an Nvidia Pascal dGPU as main GPU. The config you create now should serve you nicely for install and running the system. Take care of adding the following basics: SMBIOS: iMac18,3 - You can generate a serial number via Clover Configurator. The creation of a proper SMBIOS is covered in many guides to good extend Note: If you aim at using the iGPU for output, a user reported that iMac18,1 works better - since iMac18,3 produces sever flicker. Look at the graphics section and adjust the injection for Intel to your situation Fixes Patches Devices Graphics Important: Change 0x59120003 to 0x59120000 if you don't use a dGPU as your main display Driver and instead use the iGPU for output. Also note. SMBIOS iMac18,1 has been reported to work better in this configuration. But 18,3 works fine for me. Kernel and Kext patches 1.3 kexts and friends Add the supplied SSDT-UAIC.aml to "patched" - it limits the injected USB Ports to the actual number and ports valid for this board. Required kexts on "Other": FakeSMC.kext IntelGraphicsFixup.kext Lilu.kext When having an Nvidia card: NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext IntelMausiEthernet.kext in case you're running Ethernet USBInjectAll.kext with the HCI-300-series-injector.kext --> These two should be installed to /L/E after install We are leaving sound out at the moment, this is something for post-install. Please note the absence of Shiki, I don't find it necessary. Video material I tried made use of the iGPU without shiki. 1.4 Check BIOS and install You should be ready for install. But before you reboot, please take a look at your BIOS and set it up accordingly (copied from the aforementioned guide and adapted): Load Optimized Defaults Disable VT-d setting If your system has Secure Boot Mode, disable it Set OS Type to Windows 8/10 or OtherOS - I have not seen a difference Turn off internal Serial and Parallel port Turn off Network stack for boot Turn off wake-on-lan (for now) Set XHCI Handoff to Enabled Don't enable decode over 4G Depending on your GPU, set priority for boot Set internal GPU to enable Set DMVT pre-alloc to 64MB Set USB legacy to enabled Activate XMP profile 1 f your Ram has it (mine doesn't and I added the timings manually) Set ERP to enable, disable platform power management (I need to do more research if this could be enabled) I've attached my current BIOS config "hack2". You can place that on a fat32 drive (the EFI partition of your install USB drive might be an idea) and see if it loads. It's made for and with the F2 BIOS. The install itself should be like other MacOS Hackintosh installs with it several reboots and ensuring to select the correct boot device in Clover. 2. Post-install 2.1 Install clover on target This is a no-brainer, but install a fresh copy of Clover on your target medium. During install select again AptioMemoryFix but also additionally EmuVariableUefi-64.efi Install RC scripts on target volume because otherwise NVRAM doesn't seem to work After the install, copy config.plist contents of "Other" content of "patched" apfs.efi from drivers64UEFI to your new clover install. 2.1 Edit ACPI for slumber Choose one option, not both. The hot-patch is experimental, but for the moment it is stable. 2.1.1 Edit DSDT This is necessary only once on initial install and every time, you edit or upgrade the BIOS. The DSDT.aml attached to this post might work for your system or give you a file to compare to. Don't expect it to work for you, though. I won't go into the details of DSDT extraction and patching. There are better guides (the linked guide is a rip-off of rehabman's guide from a different forum). Please follow such a guide to extract your ACPI data. Locate and disassemble the DSDT with the newest iasl binary you can put your hands on, then open it with MacIASL in its newest version you can find (Hint: Here is a good source) You can check if the version is new enough if MacIASL doesn't throw error upon compiling a freshly extracted DSDT.aml or DSDT.dst Add rehabmans repo (as per linked guide) and apply the following patches: Rename _DSM to _XDSM Fix _WAK Arg0 v2 USB3 _PRW 0x6D Skylake (instant wake) Find the CNVW device and remove the _PWR function there. Compile the DSDT and place it in "patched". 2.1.2 Use SSDT hot-patching Instead of having to re-extract and re-patch the DSDT on every BIOS change or update, Hardware change one can also use ACPI hot-patching. It's a combination of config.plist patches and an SSDT, which is hot-patched into the ACPI (if I understand the process correctly) You need to add this SSDT-GPRW.aml to your Clover folder in the designated position at Clover/ACPI/patched You need to add this patch to your config.plist. It goes into the DSDT patch section Note: This works for me, but the patch removes the _PRW method from all devices in the DSDT. This could have side-effects. So far, I have seen none. At the moment I'm also not applying any other patch, compared with the additional edits I made to the DSDT method before. 2.2 Install kexts to system As mentioned in the install section, it's better to follow rehabman's instruction and install USBinjectAll.kext to /L/E: sudo cp -R Release/USBInjectAll.kext /Library/Extensions sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u / 2.3 Enable onboard Audio This is where I'm not so happy currently, I'd like it to work without altering AppleHDA. But currently I find no other way. 2.3.1 Install FakePCIID & FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio Rehabman tells us to use a kext installer to install it to /S/L/E. Chose the RELEASE folder 2.3.2 Run CloverALC command Ensure your EFI partition is mounted before running this command Get the newest version of CloverALC command (audio_cloverALC-xxx.sh) and run it. Our Audio codec is RTL887 and I'm running with layout ID 1 2.4 Optional steps If you have a dGPU, now it's the time to install its drivers and adjust the config.plist for it. This is out of scope of this guide. Yet, my supplied config.plist is ready to be used with Nvidia Pascal cards and using the Nvidia web driver. 3. Updating Updating inside 10.3.x point updates doesn't require much attention: Download the update from the AppStore as any Mac would do Allow the system to reboot Before booting MacOS with Clover, make sure to disable extra drivers for dGPUs which require non-native support. If using an Nvidia dGPU: Remove "nvda_drv=1" from your boot arguments and disable Nvidia injection If using a non natively supported AMD card, do the same for AMD (I'm not using AMD, thus I cannot be specific) Boot into the newly created Install MacOS partition Repeat this process until the Install partition is gone Boot MacOS again, still following 3., and potentially install updated drivers Your Audio might require re-patching 4. PUNTO 2: che l’installer di OSX si trovi in Applicazioni Utility Disco Selezionate la pendrive, andate su “partizione”, selezionate “1 partizione”, impostate Mac OS esteso journaled e date il nome USB, poi in basso cliccate su opzioni e scegliete Tabella partizione (GUID), poi “applica”. Rimane ovviamente invariato nome della usb in ==>> USB (maiuscolo), la formattazione in Mac esteso Journaled e sia la mappa partizione in GUID Da utility disco selezionate la usb, cliccate su inizializza. dal menù a tendina scegliete la relative impostazioni Immagine Procedura effettua da High Sierra è la stessa della precedente, l'unica attenzione e operazione da aggiungere in primis è cliccare nel menù a tendina in alto sulla sinistra di utility disco e selezionare "mostra tutti i dispositivi" Immagine ===================== METODO 1: "Install_Mac_OS_X.Command" Lo script che trovate allegato in fondo alla guida permette la creazione dell’installer in maniera automatica Include la possibilità di scelta di tre versioni di osx Yosemite El Capitan Sierra Il risultato finale è come quello del metodo "manuale" descritto nella guida, per cui l'installazione avverrà in un solo passaggio, non in due come con il metodo createinstallmedia. Offre inoltre la possibilità di inserire un kernel patchato, utile, per esempio, per chi usa AMD. Rimane invariato il nome dato alla usb in USB, mappa partizione e tipo di formattazione Se la vostra usb non sarà rinominata nel modo corretto, verrete avvisati dal terminale, quindi non dovrete far altro che apportare la relativa modifica e rilanciare nuovamente lo script Esempio =========================== Metodo 2 L'intento è quello di usare la procedura fornitaci direttamente da Apple, "createinstallmedia", introdotta con Mavericks. Tale metodo prevede l’uso del terminale che via via se ne sta perdendo il “valore e l’uso” Inizialmente per i neofiti potrà sembrare problematico ma alla fine non è così. Durante il post installazione alcune operazioni ne richiedono l’ uso. Perciò mi sono chiesto perchè, qualora uno volesse, non far conoscere da subito un po’ questo “strumento”??? Per favorirvi vi ho allegato i comandi già “pronti”, i quali li potrete copiare ed incollare sul terminale. A questo punto aprite il terminale, copiate ed incollate il comando sottostante e premete invio, digitate la vostra password e premete nuovamente invio. How create the install disk Prepare flash drive: Format the disk with GUID partition mapping and name it "Install". - Open Disk Utility. - Click in View, then "Show All Devices". - Select the destination flash drive, then Erase. - Name: Install, Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and Scheme: GUID Partition Map If the Erase popup in Disk Utility don't work. Close it and run this in terminal: diskutil eraseDisk JHFS+ Install /dev/diskX X is the number of the destination disk. Use "diskutil list" to discover. BIOS Setup Configuration and Installation Bios configuration: - Shutdown the ultrabook and insert the flash drive on the left side on upper port (on the side Keystone hole). - Power on with F2 pressed to enter BIOS setup. - Go to "Save & Exit" and press "Restore Defaults". - Go to "Advanced" tab and change VT-d to Disabled. - Go to "Save & Exit" again and select "Save Changes and Exit". - When ASUS logo appear, press and hold ESC to enter Boot Menu. - Select the flash drive named with UEFI prefix. In my case "UEFI: KingstonDataTraveler 2.0PMAP". - The clover menu will show. Use the arrow keys to mark the flash drive. The option name is "Boot OS X Install from Install macOS High Sierra", then press Enter. - If you did everything correctly, you will see the installation screen. BUG Note: I delete all entries from the list. With that, I could not add anything else. It just didn't work. I had to put some USB device so the list is not empty, so I can add a new entry. Strange thing... Format destination disk: Format the disk with GUID partition mapping and name it "HD". - Select Disk Utility in the list, then press Continue. - Click in View, then "Show All Devices". - Select the destination Disk, then Erase. - Name: HD, Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and Scheme: GUID Partition Map If the Erase popup in Disk Utility don't work. After performing the user initial setup and go to the desktop, you need to install Clover on internal disk. Open the Clover installer inside flash drive that you copied before. Use same options above but choose the system partition this time. Now you need to replace the EFI folder inside your internal disk EFI parittion with EFI folder inside flash card EFI partition. The flash drive EFI partition is unmounted. Mount with "diskutil mount /dev/rdiskXs1". To know what X is, use "diskutil list", most likely is 1. Add Clover entry to UEFI: Now remove flash drive and restart the system. With F2 pressed to enter UEFI BIOS. - Go to "Boot" and press "Add New Boot Option". - Select "Add boot option", write CLOVER and press Enter. - In "Select Filesystem", choose the option that contains "HD".     Patched OSInstaller.framework to allow macOS 10.13 installation on MBR partition. To use those patched files you must follow HowTo to create an USB installer. You can't just run the app downloaded from Mac App Store. The patch is made base on 落下爱@pcbeta 10.10.x MBR patch method, and more patch for 10.13 Firmware check by crazybirdy. What is this patched OSInstaller doing? 1. Patch the MBR check, allow macOS 10.13 installation on MBR partition. 2. Patch the Firmware check, bypass the error of "An error occurred while verifying firmware". 3. This patched MBR OSInstaller method works with both MBR and GPT partition (GPT+recovery). No longer need to set new SMbiosversion, FirmwareFeatures, and FirmwareFeaturesMask with this MBR-patch. What's the difference between createinstallmedia method, MBR-Manual-Method, and MBR-Automatic-Method? As the following.... 1. createinstallmedia method, needs stage 1, stage 2 installation process, which is worked with GUID partition only. 2. MBR-Manual-Method (same as 10.12), install via stage 2 manually, which is worked with both MBR and GUID, HFS+ and APFS. We can manually format as MBR or GPT, HFS+ or APFS on installation screen like as 10.12. We can manually select MBR HFS+ partition to install 10.13 and 10.14 on installation screen now. Needn't to update the MBR-Manual-Method files, it will still work on 10.13, and 10.14 future versions, I think so. 3. MBR-Automatic-Method (new for 10.13+, remove files, no more update), install via stage 2 automatically, which is worked with both MBR and GUID, HFS+ and APFS. How to make 10.13 installer for MBR (MBR-Manual-Method)? Just use MBR-EasyInstallerMaker to make installer, it works with both MBR and GPT. Read HowTo inside the dmg first, same as 10.12.   10. BEFORE TRYING THIS, DO THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION! REPLACE YOUR OPTIOFIX EFI FILE WITH VERSION 2, OR WITH VERSION 1. ONLY PROCEED IF DOING THIS DOES NOT WORK. Alright, so my first attempt at helping people that isn’t in a private discord. Hope this goes well. No one has posted this as a direct solution to someone asking for help with this error, so I thought I’d be the one to share it.

 I encountered this problem when I rebooted after making some minor changes and discovered I couldn’t boot back into the disk. All over the web, people keep suggesting clover-side tweaks and replacing kexts, and while they may solve the problem for some, absolutely nothing was working for me (and a few others), even when booting with no kernel cache at all. No boot flags worked, no .efi files would solve it. 

Holding spacebar in clover, no change. So, the solution ended up being system side, and not clover related. You needed to delete your prelinked kernel from the HDD and rebuild it. 

To do this, you just have to be able to get to your recovery drive or use an install USB that’ll give you access to the disk. Clover got me into my recovery drive just fine, another hint that it wasn’t related to clover - but regardless, whatever works for you. After you’re in a terminal, type the following commands.

 Df -h This will list all of your volumes, make sure you’re targeting your installation drive.

 If your volume has a space in the name, such as "Mac OS HS", you'll need to format it as such: "Mac\ OS\ HS" - This is simply how the command line associates spaces. touch /Volumes/[NAME HERE]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[NAME HERE]

 In my case, I replaced [NAME HERE] with my installation drive - "macOS\ 10.13". Chances are, this command will give you the error "Child process [directory] has exited due to signal 10" The line immediately after that will give you another bit of extremely important information that you need to take note of. "Error 107 rebuilding /System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel" That directory is what we're going to be targeting to fix our system. So, time to nuke it. rm -rf [location to /prelinkedkernel/prelinkedkernel] MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK IT IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS OUTPUT WHEN YOU TRIED THE COMMAND ABOVE.

 IMPORTANT: YOU MAY RECEIVE A READ ONLY ERROR! DO NOT PANIC. I've done this on multiple machines and it really is hit or miss whether or not this will appear. Regardless, the solution is simple. The following code tag only applies to if you encounter this issue. Fsck mount -uw / RE-ENTER THE FOLLOWING COMMAND! You need a more specific location now. rm -rf /Volumes/[NAME]/System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel touch /Volumes/[NAME]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[Name] Now you should be receiving "/Volumes/[NAME] locked; waiting for lock." This is a good thing. Wait a few seconds, you'll receive "Lock acquired; proceeding." After that, you'll be back at -bash-3.2#, and it will appear as if nothing happened. Again, this is expected. For people who didn't have to use the Fsck command, simply type the following and receive the usual "Waiting for lock; Lock received" response. touch /Volumes/[NAMEHERE]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[NAME HERE] Now, use your up arrow on the keyboard to re-enter this command. If nothing happens, you're golden. If it detects kexts with invalid signatures, that's still okay - but for future reference, don't go the ##### approach/philosophy of installing kexts to your system drive. Take this as a warning. Go ahead and reboot, and start your installation just like normal. You'll now get past the 0x1 error. Congratulations! If you get hung up anywhere, go back to clover and add “-f” to the boot flags, then boot again. You should make it back to your desktop with no damage whatsoever.

 Like nothing ever happened! Now, as for what causes this, I honestly have no idea. All I know is when you have a working system, make some kind of modication/tweak/installation that HS doesn't agree with, you can possibly get this error on some systems. It's rare, but exists, and unfortunately this is the only way I've been able to get past it. It's not too much work, so don't be too intimidated. You'll have your system back in no time.   13. Sleep, USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 work after installation. USB3.0 needs post installation steps, although some ports are recognized. Audio also needs some post installation work. This is just a guide on how to install the OS. The post installation setup follows on a post below. Hardware: Motherboard: MSI X299 SLI Plus CPU: Intel i7 7820X RAM: 4x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @ 3200MHz (32GB total, quad channel mode). Storage: Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB (for OS) Crucial MX300 1TB (for data) Network: WiFi TP-LINK Archer T9E AC1900 (PCI, supported by macOS) Bluetooth: Broadcom BCM20702 (USB, supported by macOS) Video: MSI GT 710 2GB (supported by macOS) Asus ROG Strix GTX1 070 8GB (needs NVIDIA Web Drivers) BIOS: I used version 140, the latest at the time. I am running version 150 now, with no differences. Disable "CFG Lock": Enter BIOS Load defaults (F6) Expert mode (F7) OC and then CPU Features (last item) Disable "CFG Lock". Save and reboot (F10) You have to disable CFG Lock, otherwise the kernel does not boot. The system restarts after "+++++" from Clover. In addition, I advise to disable legacy mode in the UEFI, to avoid booting in legacy mode and get confusing errors from Windows or Disk Utility. Clover installation on the USB: Install for UEFI booting only Install Clover in the ESP drivers64UEFI all selected (more on this below) all rest is off Clover drivers: When the Clover installation finishes, you have to manipulate a few efi drivers. Navigate to <USB ESP partition>/EFI/CLOVER Create a folder called drivers_disabled Move the following drivers from drivers64UEFI to drivers_disabled: OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi OsxLowMemFixDrv-64.efi You will have to add an extra driver from here: https://nickwoodhams.com/x99-hackintosh-osxaptiofixdrv-allocaterelocblock-error-update/ Download Test2-2016.efi and save it in drivers64UEFI. Without this fix, you'll have the memory allocation problems described in the link above. If you still get that problem, don't just reboot but really turn the computer off and then on between tries. I also had to install apfs.efi. Clover config.plist: I used Clover Configurator to load the default clover.plist and then: ACPI: disable everything. Boot: npci=0x2000. I also added -v. SMBIOS: iMac18,3 Any iMac18 should work (I tried with 18,1 and 18,3). I also tried with iMac14 and iMac17, and they gave me problems. For example, iMac17,1 could not initialize the graphic screen properly. Leave all the rest as default. Save. All these changes can also be done at the clover menu during boot. Note that I am not claiming this is the best configuration for a running machine. It is the simplest that allowed me to finished the installation and reboot successfully. I think it is possible to handle the efi Clover drivers installation using Clover Configurator, but I have never done that. Kexts: FakeSMC.kext. I used the one from Rehabman, but I think the official one will work as well. VoodooTSCSync.kext. This is mandatory, otherwise the system does not boot properly. It needs to be configured as follows: open VoodooTSCSync.kext/Contents/Info.plist and change the line under <key>IOCPUNumber</key> to: <integer>15</integer> This is the number of threads of your CPU minus 1. Place both kexts in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other. Video: I used the MSI GT 710 for installation and all post-installation steps. The 1070 only works with NVIDIA's Web drivers. Don't use it during installation. Check the post-installation post below to make it work. And this is it. Installation should work without a problem. Remember to use always the USB during the several installation reboots. I did not activate iCloud and my Apple account during installation. I wanted to generate a real fake machine UUID and serial number, so that I can use all the Apple services. This was done after installation, while booting from disk. What needs to be done during post-installation: Fix USB3. Fix audio. CPU ID recognition, although this might be fixed by Apple on a new iteration of the OS. Confirm that the CPU is working properly with all cores and different power states. Install NVIDI's Web Drivers for the Asus GTX 1070.

  16. Hello everyone I have a problem setting the virtual OS X to display the screen's native resolution(1600x900). When the machine first boots up, it displays the right resolution then after the logging in by a few moments the screen displays a wrong resolution(800x450 HIPDI) which is a quarter of the resolution. I have macOS High Sierra (10.13.1) on VMware Workstation 14 Pro version: 14.0.0 build-6661328. My laptop has i5-4310U CPU with HD graphics 4400 which has 128mb dedicated video memory and a 1600x900 screen. I have installed VMware tools that was created on 14 September 2017 and VMware unlocker version 2.1.1 made by DrDonk. When logging in the background isn't the blurred wallpaper and the dock isn't transparent as it should be, or at least from what I saw on the internet. Here is what I have tried up until now: 1) Changing the resolution from the system preferences. 2) Using sudo /Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Tools/vmware-resolutionSet 1600 900 Which displayed this output: Requested resolution: 1600x900 Effective resolution: 1600x900 Without any result. 3) I tried setting the screen's native resolution in the Display settings of VMware, still nothing. 4) I also tried to change virtualHW.version from 14 to 10 but it also did not do anything noticeable. The only thing that changed is that the blurred wallpaper was in the background when logging in. One thing to note is that it runs correctly up until 1366x768. I think the problem may be that the OS tries to load kexts after the logging in that interferes with the VMware tools, but I am not sure or that there is a hardware limitation, but I do not know a way to test it. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Boot into your Win installer, Format the partition you created for Win, install. 4. Now, it's automatically booting into Windows. To use Clover open cmd in administrator, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi 5. You're done! It will booting into Clover when you start the system, and you can select Win or Mac (or another OS if installed on a 3rd partition). Dual-boot with Windows installed first (on one drive): If you already have Windows and you don't want to lose all your data there is a hope: You need bootable Mac Installer and a full system restore image (you can search for it). (You may see errors if your EFI partition is not 200 MB) 1. Boot into your Windows, resize your partition or create one for Mac. 2. Boot into your Mac installer and in Disk Utility format the partition you created. 3. Restore from image: select your full system restore image. 4. When it's finished restoring you just need to restart, then boot to the system with your usb. 5. Do Step 2. from "*" from clean install dual-boot above. but KEEP "Microsoft" FOLDER IN IT! 6. I don't know Windows 7,etc.) IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING MAC RESTORE: Make sure you have partitions in GPT The best version for restore method is Windows 8.1. It's using 200 MB EFI. Windows 10 using 100 MB EFI and will annoy the Mac restore. You can use with Windows 10, just ignore the errors IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING WINDOWS INSTALLATION (could not be formatted, etc): Make sure you have GPT partitions, and GPT installer IF YOU USED RESTORE METHOD THEN CAN'T MOUNT YOUR EFI PARTITION (No EFI partition found) It's because your EFI is not 200 MB or not an "Apple" original EFI, but do not worry, try another EFI mounter, or mount from terminal (I used EFI mounter v3: Getting errors, but you can mount and use without problem) You also could "mount" the EFI from windows, for that open cmd and type: diskpart list vol (Now select the "System" volume,(FAT 32) For example I select 4) sel vol 4 list part (Select System type partition, for example 2) sel part 2 assign letter=b (This will "mount" your EFI partition, to manage files download totalcmd or explorer++ (run as admin)) remove letter=b (This will "unmount" your EFI) Here is a video from dual-boot with Windows installed first (on one drive): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_Q8uPkwcWQ Here some pictures:
  19. While not exactly a hackintosh, I'm running a 2009 4.1 Mac Pro flashed to 5.1. NVMe drives seem to be supported natively now. Previously I had to use pikemanalpha's script to generate a custom kext in 10.12. This beta sees both my AHCI Samsung 951 and my NVMe version as well.

  21. Hi, I have successful working Intel HD 620 (Lenovo Idealpad 310 - i5-7200,IntelHD 620,Nvidia 640) with "IntelGraphicsFixup.kext", "IntelgraphicsDVMT.kext". I disabled Nvidia graphics by rehabman guide, "SSDT-DiscreteSpoof.aml". Issue is I am having graphics glitch after screen wake (After sleep or screen time out).I will be glad anyone can guide or fix the configuration.I have attached the clover config below.

I actually managed to automate macOS installation entirely with PC-compatible keyboard input in https://www.packer.io/, so that's pretty cool I guess. To use Apple Diagnostics to check your Mac hardware, shut down, press the power button, and immediately hold the 'D' key until diagnostics begins. Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again. Using VirtualBox (unfortunately, packer sends the wrong scancodes to VirtualBox for macOS guests, so packer + macOS guests + VirtualBox doesn't integrate very well at the moment). Pressing 'D' during boot (no change in behavior, no diagnostics displayed). If anyone else has experience getting macOS to boot in VMware, let me know how the VMX configuration can be improved, or if some kind of SMC toggling intervention is necessary to get the thing to boot better. I've already tossed so many hacks and workarounds into the mix that I'm starting to run out of ideas I'm new to hackintoshing, so I'm not sure if I'm missing some critical VMX configuration, or perhaps if High Sierra introduces further complications compared to earlier editions of macOS. Or even if an alternative EFI bootloader (Clover?) is necessary, I just don't know. I'd prefer to install macOS with as vanilla/default a configuration as possible.
