I am using boot 9 and 5770 ROM from the same model. But 6 out 5 times I get fan blowing and black screen only once it will start. When I do get a display I am facing jumpy mouse syndrome. Any help. Also, I am only getting Display from DVI port not HDMI.

Thanks sch8mid for your compliments, heh my rig is called McFrankenstein! (Has elements of iMac, Macbook/Pro, and Mac Pro!)

However when I get home, I will definately run Cinebench in 32-bit and 64-bit and will post the benchmark scores. Furmark, I think though is only for windows?

And what did you mean by "yepp. Fast results" and "yes seems to be true"? Sorry I couldn't understand.

same here , same concept .. my rig is mainly a htpc for my panasonic plasma and for Hi-end

audio hi-res files ( 24bit / 96 -192 KHz)

fast results . I meant that you got really fast results in OpenCL -

and by yes seems to be true : I meant that I presumed that the 32 and 64 bit results in

OpenCl would`t differ very much .....

sorry , english is not my native language .. relicts of old fashioned school-english ;)

I'll download Cinebench now.

OK Just testd.

both 32-bit and 64-bit have the same fps (only difference is .xx)

How many frames did you get in 11.5 with stock CPU @2,66 ?

Thats the same CPUspeed I use a.t.m

i 3 will be faster for sure .

I saw variations with different 5770 biosses up to 2 fr./sec in CineBench

its strange : one bios performed extremely well in OpenCL tests

and failed in OpenGl, one bios performed well in OpenGl and I lost

up to 5 seconds in OpenCL

.. way over my head.

Hello,

I read the most sites. My system is still running with ATY_Init.....

I tried it also with busratio=14 and so on.....

Greetz

Not much more i can tell you to be honest, have you actually read the link i gave you? The creator of that topic seems to have it working in 64bit so maybe you should ask in that thread.

@ Trauma

so i seem to be a complete idiot with my Cartri mac bios (Cham RC5 r168)

Whats that ???

only changed : graphic enabler to : Yes

: Kernel flag to : ><

bingo : 64 bit without any hicks .... and it flies

without any boot 7 , boot 8 , boot 9 -- without any ati rom

But : second display HDMI is not recognized any more

and profiler shows strange things under my second PCI-e slot :

motmot : a 4xxx framebuffer ?

What to do now ?

Hey,

I would thank you all in this thread!

I tried to get my new Sapphire Vapor-X OC working but every time I got a black screen and a high speed fan.

I installed with Kakewalk from Retail 10.6

updated step by step to 10.6.4 and Graphics Update

now I

add the UseAtiRom in my com.apple.boot.plist

add the 1002_68b8.rom to /Extra folder

and replace the boot with the boot9 file

that´s it!

now all works great!

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

I'm not surprised about motmot frame-buffer, since most of ours HD 5xx0 was already inside. I've changed default frame-buffer and added support for third monitor, plus few specifics injections for Evergreen cards.

But i'm really surprised that this boot-loader can read your BIOS directly from the GFX. I've never changed anything in the accessROM and readAtomBIOS functions. So if this boot-loader can access and read AtomBios, then the difference is elsewhere. I also know that Cartri did modifications inside ACPI tables to favorite ATI root UID detection, but i'm not even sure it as been retained in the end. So basically we will need Balck OSX's sources to compare.

Does "my" boot-loader works fine with Cartri's BIOS ? Do you have to specify "PCIRootUID" ?

hi trauma thanxs for your response

yes this is exactly what I am looking for :

Cartris bootloader specifies :

Motherboard model changed to match accordingly.

PCiRoot defaults to 1.

• Changed the embedded default theme**

• GraphicsEnabler is enabled by default..

• Timeout default changed to 3.

• Amended version name to 2.0-RC5(bc17).

If I am looking in my bootlist I find :

Graphicsenabler : No

Kernel . arch=i386

needed because of AT-Init

and

No PCIRoot = 1

If i change only to Graphics enabler= yes

and 64 bit kernel >< and delete Netkas AT-init , my system comes up in 64 bit without any problem with cartris Cham 2 RC5_pre8 , but with motmot framebuffer and without hdmi

If i change to boot 9 with Cartri I get KP ( ATI -3000)

You may have a look :

So cartris Chameleon -mod is injecting properties to IORegistry,

Hello,

I tried again to implement the boot file (without rom to see if it will work) and everytime i got an kernel panic from triggered from smbiosresolver....

Do i´ve to edit the smbios.plist or should i delete the smbiosresolver.kext?

I´m right that the smbiosresolver is for the detection for the ram (mhz, etc)?

I read that the chameleon rc5 detects the ram by itselfe... Could this be the reason why i got an kernel panic from smbiosresolver?

Does anyone which uses the bootfiles from trauma or the chameleon rc5 have this kext?

Would be nice if anyone can help me......

Thx again and i hope anybody can help me :D

I don't see the point to use SMBIOSResolver nowadays ?! Chameleon does it fine, and automaticly... If you really want custom SMBIOS settings you can use smbios.plist.

So go ahead and let shoot the resolver :D (respect to Superhai)

If you can remember, please specify the vendor of the card, and maybe the model number, and if it's reference, OC, etc?

Thank you.

And Mohamed, I'll try to boot without the DSDT.

This is my Card

Well last time I remember you saying you didn't need a ROM, then you need it. So I have a hard time choosing which one to take as your output.

As for booting without DSDT, and BIOS, it did the same thing still and does the 100% fan + black screen

I'm using a gigabyte 5750, Black screen with and without 1002_68be.rom on boot7, 8, and 9. My biggest nag is the jumpy mouse, it gets progressively worse, any tips on how to at least smooth out the mouse?

well it didn't work without dsdt.

and my dsdt doesn't even have a gfx0, so that rules your suggestion out.

nice try though.
