DSDT fixes for Gigabyte boards

Trying to get sleep to function correctly on my EVGA x58 LE (ICH10). Not a Gigabyte, but the USB changes at the beginning of this thread went in fairly easily. I can sleep fine and everything shuts off. I can also wake from sleep with a USB device. However, once back in the OS, none of my USB devices work. If I leave a Finder window open before sleeping, I can see that the USB drives are still mounted, however they are not usable. I get the following messages in kernel.log after waking up

A quick search didn't turn up anything for that particular error message. Anyone know what might be causing this behavior?

I've also updates PC EFI 10.5 so it can override ACPI features (including auto upgrading ACPI V1 -> newer)

 

They also have been updated with Apple data (identification set the same as real macs).

The following ACPI tables can be added/replaced/dropped:

DSDT table (ofcourse, but not dropable!)

SSDT tables (SSDT-0.aml to SSDT-30.aml)

HPET table (HPET.aml)

Smart Battery Subsystem Table (SBST.aml)

Environment Controller Description Table (ECDT.aml) (this adds boot-ec to IORegistry!)

Alert Standard Format Table (ASFT.aml, identified as ASF!)

DMAR table (DMAR.aml)

FADT table (FACP table, FADT.aml)

Automatic ACPI V1 to V4 upgrading through UpdateACPIVersion=Yes boot argument.

Automatic old short style FADT to newer V4 FADT autopatching with UpdateACPIVersion=Yes.

Auto generation of an XSDT table from the RSDT table for ACPI V1.

Loading APIC replacement.

Loading MCFG replacement.

Probably should be something close to this assuming three c-states and you have 14 p-states.

I just install with blackosx´s guide, update to 10.6.2 and I have no sound and the video card is not fully detected, I have image but I cant use the second monitor and the max resolution is 1024x768.

Where I must save the DSDT.aml file???

Does anyone have this DSDT for my hardware???

I´ll love to have 5,1 audio, and video card fully opereable with 2 monitors, please I need a hand

Also when I restart the system I have a KP and BIOS reset the settings.

Please help me! I need a hint how to start with this mess...

I have replied to your questions in my thread, though you said in my thread that you have a EP45-UD3L which uses the ALC888 audio codec.

I have an EP45-U3DL almost the same mobo

You say here though that you are using EP45-UD3P which uses ALC889A?

 

• I/We can't help you unless you tell us exactly what you have.

• Your KP and BIOS is probably because I don't think your DSDT is being loaded.

• The DSDT.aml needs to be in /Extra.

• On the GA-EP45-DS3L, native 5.1 surround from digital coaxial is reported in my thread as working although I haven't personally tried it.

• I would stick to getting one video output working first, before trying two.

• And the GraphicsEnabler boot option should work for your video card.

yes probably I mess up with the letters... my mobo is the GA-EP45-UD3L with the ALC888 audio codec same as yours.

Well 5.1 with coaxial... I never saw a coaxial plug.. well I have three 3,5 plugs for my 5.1 speakers... Theres some plug for coaxial to 3 3.5 plugs???

The graphicenabler is in the com.apple.Boot.plist and I use your file so its there or I should activate this option??? how can I do this??

It's a speedstep issue so i didn't post it here

 

2)I get 2 kernel errors during boot and i don't fully understand them.

 

--Not loading kext com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController - not found and kextd not available in early boot.

(im using DSDT+Legacy for audio and it works pretty good)

 

--FireWire runtime power conservation disabled. (2)

(my firewire is working though)

 

Any ideas?

Okay using this guide I am almost 100% only have the FakeSMC.kext and my LegacyHDA in the Extras folder everything is working great. Is there a way to test the processor to see if via speed-step it roles through all the multipliers. my geek-bench is about 1000 points lower now and via the voodoo-monitor I see I never get about the x7 multiplier even during the bench. I should be able to max at x10 multiplier......

Please don't flame me here for a speedstep question I did not see an answer to this anywhere else before posting.

 

Using the myHack installer it set me up as iMac 8,1 could this be the issue

yeah it's better to be set as macpro3.1 for dsdt speedstep, and you should have a better geekbench score with dsdt speedstep then without

Is there a way to test the processor to see if via speed-step it roles through all the multipliers. my geek-bench is about 1000 points lower now and via the voodoo-monitor I see I never get about the x7 multiplier even during the bench. I should be able to max at x10 multiplier......

Please don't flame me here for a speedstep question I did not see an answer to this anywhere else before posting.

 

Using the myHack installer it set me up as iMac 8,1 could this be the issue

Hey boombeng good to see your still around man...... I wish I still had my studio but that is old news man. I just got a Macpro 3.1 smbios but I have not installed it yet but my geekbench was at 4000 and now with my current smbios and dsdt modified for vanilla speedstep and sleep I only peg out in 64 bit at 3103...... I will try replacing my smbios file with the new one on monday and report back. It seems with the current set up I am stuck at a max of 1.86ghz and It should go up to 2.7ghz when under full load but it just keeps kicking back and forth between my two lowest steps. I will report back monday.....

Greythome what exactly are you looking for ? I think this guide is fairly complete and has worked great for several with a variety of different boards such as myself with a G41M. I am very happy with the outcome.

 

oh just the latest development in this project. As matter of fact i was using DSDT but ever since bought myself a mac mini i never came here, so was looking if anything new or what.
