Hi guys! I'm having hell trying to get my gtx275 to work under ideneb!!Everytime I try to boot up using either the normal g200 drivers or the evga ones I get the silver apple boot screen and then the monitor goes into sleep mode..Here is my pc setup:

CPU: Athlon Phenom 945

MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte MA770 UD3

HDD: Seagate 250gb hdd

Graphics: Gigabyte GTX275

I've installed Ideneb a few times, it works all good without installing any nvidia drivers but when I do, I get this problem. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? In the customise my installation screen, I have selected Nvidia drivers g200 series/evga ones but do I need to select any other options? Ie. Nvdarwin, or enablers? Btw, I'm installing ideneb v1.6 intel/amd edition.

Please help!

Thanks (newbie)

hi guys i have a small problem i have a gtx 260 for the main card and a gts250 for physx in windows i have both of them working under leopard 10.5.7 with "enabler for nvidia and multi ati cards" and the "g200 drivers" the only problem is i have to set the m/b to boot from peg2 (the gts250) to boot otherwise i get a kernel panic if i boot from peg1 or pci.

i have tried it in different config with only the gtx260 (worked) with only gts250 (worked) peg1 250 peg2 260 (had to boot from peg1) and swapped around.

if i leave the vid cable in the 260 i can't see the boot screen if i want to boot into windows i just guess when I'm at the chameleon selection screen

system specs are

gigabyte ex58 ud5 (had a ex58 ud4p that just died and done the same thing)

core i7 920

6gb corsair ram

gtx260

gts250

any help would be appreciated

Hi all.

If I buy Nvidia 295 GTX, will it work on Snow Leopard with i7?

Also I saw 285GTX has Mac drivers, so... is there any difference between 285GTX Mac version and 285GTX Windows(PC verscion)? I meant if I buy PC version of 285GTX, will I have problems with official drivers for Mac OS X?

Thank you.

  • 2 weeks later...

All:

I was thinking of buying HDX 18t but changed my mind as I wanted to wait for Core i7 notebooks. And now, it has appeared. I'm eyeing on the Dell Alienware m15x which comes with 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M along with Intel Core i7. Except for the wireless card (hopefully can be swapped for a Dell 1397 PCIe card or better that is supported on SL), it will be a awesome machine running Snow Leopard 10.6.1. As I had mentioned before in my previous replies, the intent of using this machine is not for gaming but for high end HD encoding. I think a gaming machine will do a pretty awesome job for HD editing. Also, I don't know whether the audio works with SL.

I'm just pasting this info from Dell site:

Intel Core i7 820QM 1.73GHz (3.06GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB Cache)

Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English

1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M

15.6-inch WideFHD 1920x1080 (1080p) WLED

6GB DDR3 at 1333MHz

256GB Solid State Drive

Slot-Loading Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader (BR-ROM, DVD+-RW, CD-RW)

Primary - 9-cell (85Watt) Lithium-Ion Battery

Internal High-Definition 5.1 Surround Sound Audio

WIRELESS CARDS Intel WiFi Link 5300 802.11AGN Half Mini Card

Please let me know.

Thanks.

HI,

Have anyone information about getting to work a Geforce G210 card (the new one one with GT218 core, VGA, DVI and HDMI)?

I've tested with NVenabler, NVKush and GT200 driver, but it's doesn't work in 10.5.7 (iAtkos v7) and 10.5.8 (ideneb v1.6) and I can test with snow leopard 10.6.0 if anyone can give me some help.

Thanks.

Hello evbdy.

I got my GTX 260 fully working:

* Leopard 10.5.8 (based on Kalyway 10.5.1)

* EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS (1 monitor)

* XFX GTX 260 Black Edition (2 monitors)

Before I additionally installed my GTX 260:

* Leopard 10.5.8 (based on Kalyway 10.5.1)

* EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS (2 monitors)

What I did:

1) copied of my /System/Library/Extension to /System/Library/Extension.backup

2) installed the official NVIDIA drivers from here Official NVIDIA Mac Drivers

3) rebooted my diy-mac (checked if my GTS was already running) -> success

4) modified my boot.plist. i just copied my GTS efi string.

5) connected my monitors

6) restarted -> success

My modified plist (the non-hexed-device-property-string):

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

I don't know why, but my experiences getting the GTX260 running have yielded different problems than others speak of.

I tried using gfxutil to make an EFI string entry for my boot.plist. It seems to have been done properly, but didn't do anything useful.

I have followed the clearly laid out steps for using Netkas' enabler and the patched NVidia installer, numerous times. Now the card is basically usable, but it is listed as having 32MB of VRAM? This is definately wrong, since it wouldn't be playing H264 video if that were the case. And it is named a GPU 0x05ea... which is technically right. The problem is that I can't enable QE/CI since my setup is not recognized.

Also, the NVidia insataller says that I already have the right drivers installed - even though I deleted all NV* and GeForce* kexts, as well as the kext caches. So what drivers is it using? And how do I force it to use the official drivers? And get it to list my 1.79GB of VRAM?

And why doesn't anybody else appear to be having these problems?

I am perplexed! TIA

It's a Dell Studio XPS 9000, HMBT boot disc, fresh install of 10.6, and now 10.6.1

i have a problem with my geforce gtx 260 and efi strings.

in 10.5.x i used efi strings + evga drivers to make the gtx 260 work.

in 10.6.x i am using a patched dsdt to make it work. (i used "Koalala's ACPI Patcher 02 Beta5" and set the graphics tab to:

Custom GeForce, 896MB, Dual DVI, PCI 0, PEGP

but now i am forced to use efi string for 10.6.x and i cant get it working.

i tried 3 different methods for efi string:

1) copying efi string from newest efi studio for "GeForce GTX 260"

2) copying an efi string i found on the web

3) using osx86tools to generate an efi string for a custom geforce with VRAM 0x00000038 (896MB)

i checked the plist for the correct hardware location:

PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0xc,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)

then i added the efi string to my boot.plist but in each case i got no QE/CI...

i even tried to install the official nvidia drivers on my vanilla snow leopard in addition to efi string but this didnt work either...

so do you have any idea whats going wrong here?

this is my system:

hardware: GA-EP45-DS3L, GeForce GTX260 896MB (Sparkle)

os: Mac OS X 10.6.2 Build 10C540

bootloader: Chameleon-2.0-RC3-r658 with some dsdt fixes

kexts: EvOreboot, fakesmc, LegacyHDA, PlatformUUID, CPUInjector

I have iDeneb 10.5.6 running, but at this point I have not been able to get my Gigabyte GTX 275 card working. Any attempts to get it working have resulted in a bricked installation (no display output and the monitor turns off to save power even with -x). Is it even possible to get this card working on 10.5.6?

Thanks in advance :unsure:

Hello,

I'd like to know if the 200 series driver can also work for the mobile 200 series as well ?

In my case, I'm about to make my mind for a new laptop, with GT 230m, or GTS 250m (or maybe even GTX 260m).

According to notebookcheck, those cards have the following cores:

GT 230M = core GT216

GTS 250M = core GT215

GTX 260M = core G92b

It is also said that the GT230M and GTS250M are supposed to be based on the desktop GTX 200 series.

==> Does someone know if it will possible to fully support any of these three mobile cards ?

Thanks in advance for your help, it would be much appreciated.

(similar questions have already been asked, but with no clear answer, as far as I've looked)

Hi guys,

if that can help other people, I finally purchased a HP laptop with a GT230M card... and the method offered in this thread, seems so far to work nicely with iPC 10.5.6 (+10.5.8 update) :

Card recognized, Screen native resolution configured, QE/CI said to be supported, from the "about" menu... :) .

The only odd thing so far, is the colors of some pictures and the background of the desktop, which don't seem to be in 32bit (color scalings quite visible). Anyway this won't prevent me from working with Xcode :)

thanks for that great tool

ok guys, this is weird, i physically moved from one place to another in town, and turned my hackintosh on, and it was "out of range" on the resolution, a few deletion of files (aty init.kext) and others and then unsuccessfully trying out switchresx and then uninstalling it, left with me now a resolution of 1280x1024 as my ONLY option.

i really don't want to have to reformat my HD to make everything work again. it's a EX58-UD5 Mobo, and an i7 920 paired with the GTS 250 video card. yes i checked everything already and have no idea what i can do to fix this.

ANY HELP is appreciated!

I have a MSI GeForce N210 (DeviceID 0a65) and i've installed Snow Leopard.

According to this http://www.infinitemac.com/f7/list-of-nvid...-leopard-t4385/ is compatible with NVDANV50Hal.kext [v1.6.2.35 (18.6.5f11)]

I added my DeviceID to NVDANV50Hal.kext [v1.6.2.35 (18.6.5f11)] and NVDARESMAN.kext

and i get a black screen, but the computer is still working.

Any ideas??

Thnx

Hi le_squirrel

I have a HP laptop that has the same VGA card like yours. I think your laptop is on your sign, isn't it? I also have core i7-720Q and I want to install MACOS on my laptop. Could you write to me what you did to have everything work on your laptop? I'm newbi here ;)

Thank you a lot.

I have every thing working in snow leopard on my amd system but, I cant get qe/ci on my gtx 260. I have tried EFI strings. I reinstalled the kexts and used the injector but that just gave me a black screen. I have searched for a way to fix this but no fix.
