Hi guys, I've been searching around this forum for information about GTX 260 support on snow but can't find anything. I know that netkas has already got it to work on Leopard.

 

Basically I have 2 questions:

 

Does Snow Leopard support the GTX 260 with full QE/CI?

Does GTX 260 support OpenCL in Snow Leopard?

 

 

I'm currently using the 6600GT which doesn't seem to support OpenCL and I'm thinking of upgrading to the GTX 260. Any help is appreciated :)

Just wanted to say I just did a fresh reinstall of ipc and then only had to install the injector and the driver and i have dual monitor and all that goods stuff. Nothing else needed. INSTALL IN REVERSE ORDER!!!! INJECTOR FIRST DRIVER SECOND.

I've been trying to get Snow Leopard to work 100% with my GTX260 and 1080p monitor. The monitor is connected via DVI-to-HDMI. Motherboard is Foxconn G45M-S.

 

I installed the updated injector from here

And the evga drivers from here

I now get past the apple boot logo and get 1024x768 but I would like to get 1920x1080 on my HDTV.

 

I followed Kasakka's posts starting here

I created a plist fixed PciRoot also tried the plist he supplied but still stuck with 1024x768. :/

 

Any ideas?

anyone have any luck getting the gtx 260 installed on snow leopard ?

 

I have it sorta working using the enabler and drivers, I got past the blank screen and have 1024x768.

 

EFI strings have not helped so far in getting proper resolution of 1920x1080. I tried both of these guides

It's the same if I boot with -x32 or use "Graphics Mode"="1920x1080x32".

I've read through the entire topic and adjusted some of my to be bought setup. Can someone tell me if I got everything right?

 

CPU: i7 920

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 (before it was Gigabyte EX58-UD3R)

GCARD: eVGA GTX285 (before it was Asus GTX285)

MEM: Corsair 6 GB-1600 (before it was GeIL 6GB-1333)

 

Does the DVD player/ HD/ power supply make any difference at all?

I changed it because I could only find working solutions for the products mentioned, although this setup is about 300 euros more expensive.

 

Sorry if this isn't the appropriate topic to post this, but I would like some advice on this. Especially the graphics card.

Hi... just picked up a GTS 250. Read through this entire thread but i'm still very intimated so i decided to post.

 

I followed weaksauces guide step by step and using exact hardware and I am running a rock solid Gigabyte machine with a Zotac 7300GT Card. My brother just bought me a GTS250 for my birthday and am wondering, how do I install this?

 

If anyone could give me a heads up on what I need to do... (still a complete noob to this whole thing).

 

I'm running Leopard 10.5.7 and would preferably like to not reinstall the whole OS.

 

Hope I can get some clear answers... thanks!

1. Remove old Card and install new one... :P

Thank you for your tips.

I got my EANGTX260 216SP working using the tips above.

Here's what i did:

 

- Installed a fresh iDeneb v1.6 1.5.8 Lite selecting all needed drivers, also Nvidia ones.

- Vanilla Kernel + Chamaleon RC1 (since i dont like not even a bit of the 2)

- Once rebooted i noticed that there was that damn black screen.

- Rebooted with -s and removed all the kext starting with ATI*.* ,GeFo*.*,NV*.*

- Rebooted, now Leopard shows standard res and unknown VGA.

- Installed the Injector/Enabler located here from Netkas: http://netkas.org/?p=107

- Rebooted.

- Now Leopard sees my VGA correctly, Name,Model and VRAM is correct.

- Installed Injector/Enabler again for FIRST (http://netkas.org/?p=107) then PATCHED GTX200 drivers located here: http://rapidshare.de/files/47522089/NVIDIA...6.mpkg.zip.html

- After the installation, the Nvidia programs asks me to reboot. Leave the window open, using OSX86Tools clear Extensions Permissions and Extensions Cache. Ive did also Fix Permissions, but maybe its not needed.

- Rebooted and BAM! Everything working like a charm :):D :D :D

I've tried to get my PNY GTX 285 1024MB card fully supported in Snow Leopard 10.6 without luck following at least a dozen guides. Most are for Leopard and I don't think the advice I've seen applies to Snow Leopard, which seems to support the card partially.

 

I'm pretty sure hardware acceleration works (see the attached screen shots). Resolutions are fine, it sleeps/wakes fine. But I have no control over the card in System Preferences > Display and System profiler just reports it completely incorrectly.

World of Warcraft at highest settings. 90fps is pretty good, though fps is more related to CPU/disk IO in WoW than GPU power. If this were software rendering, however, we'd be lucky to see 10fps.

Just qouting myself here... Both the motherboard and the graphicscard are not in stock anywhere in the country... Can someone point me to a good working alternative?

have hte same thing in profiler as you.

 

What program are those pics from? I think my 260gtx maybe in software mode... just tried some open cl program and it was in software and slowwwww

I currently have iPC 10.5.7 installed with a 8800GTS 640. Dual monitors work great. I have read that there is now support for the 260gtx but only one monitor works. I can't find any new threads. Does anybody know if dual monitors are supported for the 260gtx for ipc 10.5.7 or even in SL 10.6.1?

260 gtx works great in snow leopard using blackosxs guide to dsdt patching with graphics. Just use generic nvidia with what ever set up you have. IE Dual DVI is me and set the ram amount.

 

I get qe/ci opencl all that {censored}.

How about a link? Not everyone who comes across this thread knows who blackosxs is, let alone where to start looking.

Ok, finally I got it...I have support for my GTX280 fully works (under 10.6.1) except for my 2nd monitor...

it recognize it but it's flickering all the time..I tried to change the resolution with no luck..

Everyone could help me?

 

[sOLVED] The fault was because I had connected between pc and monitor an aver tv tuner who caused the unstable signal..now I must find a solution for this :P
