newbmac
Worked great for my kalyway install. I had tried that other combo updater from Mysticus C, it didn't work well as my keyboard disappeared. If you use Kalyway, save yourself trouble and stick with Kalyway updaters! Also, unlike the update from Mysticus which made the system slower, this one boots faster! Also NVKush might be the reason, the machine feels MUCH faster than NVInstaller. Weird but wow, this is great. Now if I could just get audio working I would be very happy! chown
I have installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on my HP Pavilion, works great, i also got this 10.5.3 update and the kernel package, but when i have to restart after installing the kernel (yes i have tried both kernels) i press F8 at the darwin boot, and type update -v then press enter. it doesnt do anything, just starts counting until it will boot without installing. once it gets to the white apple screen with the cursor that spins around and around, thats all it does. i left it to do that overnight, when i got up, its still on the same white screen. i have done this with both kernels, what should i do next? P.S im also having trouble deciding on buying a D-link DWA 130 wireless N.. i know on the singapore site for dlink, you can download an OS X driver for the D-link DWA 140, which is the exact same thing as the DWA 130, but it is "Rangebooster N" as opposed to "Wireless N". Wondering if this driver will work for the DWA 140, if anyone knows, telling me would be greatly appreciated.

rramon
hi, did the 10.5.3 kalyway update with 9.3 vanilla kernel and after that the 10.5.4 update via SU. everything works fine (had to restore sound and ahci), but i there´s one problem: i can´t shut down my hack any more, shutdown procedure is running, monitor´s going "off" as well. but the machine won´t power off completely. however, found out that it works when i type update -v at darwin boot prompt. rebooting is okay and works (even without typing update -v) before shutting down i read unmount /"my windows partition" failed unmount /net failed what does that mean? any ideas? running 9.4 vanilla kernel now.. i have backed up my extensions from the original leo4all 10.5.2 install. do i have to replace a kext in order to get shutdown working (smbios, dsmos??) ? jeffjank33
Maybe I'm the only idiot that can't get the combo update to work. I can run kalyway 10.5.2 with no issues. When I try to boot after update I get a splash of a blue screen and then it goes dark. The hard drive keeps spinning away. I can even put the system to sleep and wake it up..but still a blank screen. I have tried booting with update -v, update -v -x, -s, -v -f I have a Thinkpad T61 running Intel X31000 video. Any ideas? I've reinstalled 10.5.2 and tried to apply 10.5.3 update at least 4 times now...maybe I just need to stick to 10.5.2.

dazulrich
Update to Kalyway's 10.5.3 was sucessful-ish... installed combo-update and kalyway vanilla kernel then rebooted used update -v , rebooted now unless I type "update" after hitting F8, my system will reboot as soon as darwin is starting. No GUI at all. I can add -v -f -x without "update", but despite more info on the screen the reboot happens at the same time. haven't managed to google up a solution. I want to get this solved before applying 10.5.4 via software update. Ta

The Xeon Quad Man
I know I updated quite late...but finally did update today. Did mess up my boot manager for a little while but got that back together by using the "flag" and setting it back to partition 1 command in -s. I went from iATKOS 10.5.1 to 10.5.2 using Kalyway 10.5.2 Comboupdate. Then Kalyway 10.5.3 ComboUpdate...kept 9.2 kernel, but then installed 9.3 vanilla kernel after install Chameleon EFI using OS X x86 tools. Which screwed up my Windows Boot mangaer...but got that back by flagging partition 1 again, so now I can boot Vista or OS X from the Windows Boot Manager again...and now that I got Vanilla 9.3 kernel and 10.5.3, I try for 10.5.4... .Ryan
I have the exact same issue but I used the JAS combo update, how can I fix this or do I need to re-install all over again? I was using 10.5.2 and used the Kalyway 10.5.3 update package. I did everything per the instructions. When I rebooted and typed "update -v", all I ended up getting was "waiting for root device" over and over and over, etc. I then tried rebooting and tried to press F8 and the Darwin prompt. It didn't do anything but go to the "Grey" Apple screen and then after a few minutes the Zero with the Slash through it showed up. Anyone got any ideas on how to get my root device to be seen again? Thanks!
Gudwin
My OS is dead While installing comboupdate there suddenly poped-up window saying that I should reboot. And the system froze. Had nothing to do, but restart. And now I can't boot - it goes to infinite reboot loop from grey screen with logo. Waits for about 3 minutes (the status thing spins) and reboots. -v -x cpus and other stuff don't help.. Hm?
