  2. Successfully installed macOS Big Sur Beta1 on my Skylake NUC6i5SYH, thanks to the latest OC 0.6.0. Much kudos to acidanthera devs for their hard work to enable native booting of the BS installer from KernelCollections !!! Notes USB Installer made with createinstallmedia method Compiled latest OC 0.6.0 from GIT Hub Also compiled latest Lilu v1.4.6 and WhateverGreen v1.4.1 kexts to avoid kernel panic and black screen before login screen Recommend to set Kernel/Quirks/PanicNoKextDump to YES in config.plist to troubleshoot problematic kexts if kernel panic occurs To disable authenticated root SIP in Big Sur (so can play around with system files), I set csr-active-config in OC config.plist to 0x77080000, then reset NVRAM through the OC boot menu —> csr-active-config w%08%00%00 Catalina kexts for my Edimax EW-7811UTC AC600 wireless USB (based on Realtek rtl8812 chipset) still work well in Big Sur OC 0.6.0 for Skylake NUC6i5SYH.zip

  5. OpenCanopy is a graphical user interface for OpenCore which is currently under development. To setup OpenCanopy 1 - See OpenCore documentation 2 - See Dortania GUI setup You should setup OpenCanopy using the source files from OCBinaryData to check all is working. These files will provide you a UI as close as possible to a real Mac by using Apple's own icons. Users wishing to deviate from Apple's boot icons for a more custom look, they're left with having to find their own icons from various places which can sometimes result in a not so consistent theme feel. To help, I am aiming to create families of 'similar' icons, amongst others, which may eventually lead to a more harmonious look when mixing/customising icons. The idea is that eventually there will be a large 'pick and mix' range of icons where the user can choose which ever ones they like whilst knowing they will all look like they're meant to be together. Of course, I could never come up with every permutation that someone could imagine so there will always be icons missing from the range, but over time I hope to grow the collection(s). For an overview of available media sets from different contributors, check the OpenCanopy-Gallery at dortania. OpenCanopyIcons GitHub Repository All icons are being hosted at https://github.com/blackosx/OpenCanopyIcons The front page of that repository contains links to previews of all the icon sets. Current number of icons in the repo: [Set1: 24] [Set2: 296] [Set3: 3,527] [Set4: 333] [Set5: 10,684] = 14,864 OpenCanopyIconsSet3Builder The beginnings of a tool to generate custom icon sets from the repo (Details) Current version: 0.2.0 (Updated for OpenCore 0.7.0) OpenCanopyIconsSet3Builder_v0.2.0.command.zip OpenCanopyIconsSet5Downloader The simple bash script to download individual icon sets from Set5 of the repo Current version: 0.1 (Updated for OpenCore 0.7.0) OpenCanopyIconsSet5Downloader_v0.1.command.zip Fonts OcFontFileGenerator (Mar 01 2021 - Bash script with dpfb and FTNTools to create font images) Aug 14 2020 - Initial look at OpenCanopy's support for AngelCode BMF Feb 28 2021 - Revised font files with fixed kerning pairs) QEMU Disk Image QemuDiskImage (Mar 6th 2021 - Virtual setup for testing icons in OpenCanopy. See this post from Aug 16 2020 with links to initial pre-made packs with previews. However, due to OpenCanopy still being experimental and subject to changing requirements and mandatory icons I feel this process can quickly lead to out of date icon packs which need time to rebuild. I will therefore no longer support these icon packs, instead will work on a programmed method to download icons from the main OpenCanopyIcons GitHub repository as a 'set' ready to use in OpenCanopy. The beginnings of this is the OpenCanopyIconsSetBuilder script above. For reference, the existing BOCIP_3 icon packs have been updated to include Left and Right icons for OpenCore 0.6.6, but all others are older and NOT up to date for recent versions of OpenCanopy.

  8. Hello everybody, I have registered especially to thank you for your help and thoughts. Since the DEV-Version of BigSur came online, I've been following you here. I started migrating from Clover to OC last night at 11pm. I had BigSur fully running around 2:00 in the morning. Everything works, WIFI / Ethernet / NVME / Audio / Intel UHD. I like OpenCore much better than Clover. OC is so much cleaner. I am very happy about this community and thank you for your support and thoughts! If someone has a DELL Optiplex 5070 SFF and needs support, feel free to contact me. OC-EFI runs very smooth and stable with Catalina and BigSur!

  10. Success! USB install to internal SSD on my laptop. config.plist attached. Installation took a while (i mean a while) and stalled on a few parts but be patient. So far with limited testing WiFi is the only thing not working (DW1820A) and trackpad is not recognised (But works) Still need to test CPU PM, battery status, sleep, lid and a few other things. Great work to the devs of OC. config.plist Now when i boot into Catalina though i have this drive mounted?

Haswell OC 0.6.0 Big Sur USB Installer.zip I've built the latest Lilu+WEG and it solved the KP. Check my EFI folder it might help you to boot into macOS Big Sur.

  25. I have put together this simple little guide for anybody wanting to use a Patched DSDT EFI with the same configuration as me. This is also a thread to discuss everything Z390 Master and try and help where we can and maybe make things a little better for you. A huge massive thank you to @glasgood @MaLd0n @larabee These three guys have helped me and talked me so much and are as helpful as you could ever get, Without them I wouldn't have a perfect working build like I do or be putting up this Guide & Discussion Thread sharing the hard work and countless hours that we have all put in to this. This EFI and Patched DSDT have been created to work with a Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Master using bios revision F11L, 9900k with a 5700 XT but has also been tested and verified fully working with the following Hardware CPU's 8600K, 8700, 8700K, 9400K, 9600K, 9700K, 9900K, 9900KS (All KF Models work but use SMBios iMacPro1,1 instead) GPU's RX 560, 570, 580, 590, Vega 56, Vega 64, Radion VII, RX 5500, 5500 XT, 5600, 5600 XT, 5700, 5700 XT (If you have success with any different CPU or GPU's then please do let me know) @glasgood Has kindly put together a new simple Catalina install guide so Just Follow He's Guide For a Perfect Install. 26. Using the latest OC master build means compiling the OC from https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg. P.S. But I guess OC Builder pulls all the latest data from GitHub repositories and complies them too.

  32. Hi @chris1111! First of all thank you very much for your packages! I'm currently using WIFI-Dlink-Catalina-Panel-V2 in my mac os catalina setup and it works good. I have the alfa awus036nh usb dongle working with the RT2870 kext. I have another setup with Big Sur beta (hackintosh vm, see my signature for specs) and I noticed that the kext is still working and I can connect to the wifi networks. I did a "manual install" after expanding the pkg: sudo mount -uw / sudo cp -R RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext sudo cp -R D-LinkUtility /System/Library/StartupItems/ sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/StartupItems/D-LinkUtility sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/StartupItems/D-LinkUtility cp -R D-LinkWirelessUtility.prefPane /System/Library/PreferencePanes sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/PreferencePanes/D-LinkWirelessUtility.prefPane sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/PreferencePanes/D-LinkWirelessUtility.prefPane sudo kextcache -i / After this I had to open security and privacy and allow permissions. I don't know if it's a bug in the beta of mac os, or a permission issue or what is happening, but in the system preference panel the wifi d-link doesn't show, but it works because if from the top bar I click on Wireless preferences the panel opens and it is then visible in system preference panel; however if I close the system preference panel and I open again the wifi d-link icon doesn't show. I saw your latest release for mac os Big Sur, however this doesn't include the RT2870, maybe you can include the kext in that package? So to be able to use that wifi utility with the RT2870 and have all the controls from the top bar, without entering any additional panel from the system preference panel. If you want to implement it when you have time I'm available for testing.

  33. SOLUTION TO SIGABRT: Before I get there, here's a little backstory. I was a clover user until big sur and really wanted to try OC, big sur came and so did the opportunity. Tried to be over smart and make a OC folder directly and paste it into EFI without resetting or deleting any past variables. It did work successfully into Big Sur BUT those variables would come to bite me when I chose to install from an external media. So the solution is to keep whatever your virtualsmc and whatever kexts you already have, reboot into the pendrive and in OC menu, tap on RESET NVRAM. Tiny reboot by the system and you will see nothing into your boot menu, just opencore. Hit that and then when you come in OC menu, hit on install MacOS Beta. And doodah you are in the installer!

  36. I have a MaLd0n method install on another SSD Disk which I opted for instead of the VM method. I wanted the install from USB method for the obvious reason and the second reason, although MaL's method is super easy, I was slightly irked I couldn't rename the Drive with a name of my choosing instead of 'Test Drive' and that was my only gripe because like now, everything worked apart from Apple TV - Yea I am uber quirky that way Still miffed about Apple TV though Beta or no Beta.

  39. It was happening the same with me, but I rapidly realized it was the kexts. It’s something from the network or Bluetooth drivers, but I’ll try tomorrow 1 by 1 to see the problem. I’m using Intel AX200 and Realtek PCIe GB, with kexts “itlwmx” and “RTL8111”, respectively. As for the Bluetooth, I’m using “IntelBluetoothFirmware” Coffee lake here

Seem that AAPL,ig-platform-id 07009B3E is better option for the i3-8100T. I simplified the device property by using the framebuffer-conX-alldata property to inject: Port, BusID, Pipe Number, Connector Type and Flags. Have added igpu bus patching diagram to the guide above. 45. OpenCanopy_Pick_and_Mix_Icons_3 Building on the last set and slowly adding to the collection I've included the missing, non-mandatory, Other and External icons that OpenCanopy looks for. There are now also some white external drives, some Microsoft and Microsoft Windows 10 ones and a preliminary few internal drives with labels. I think it may be good to eventually have some kind of visual repository for these where it will be easy to scroll through and maybe just download the ones of interest... Anyway thats for later, for now I'll just keep posting a handful as I create them.
