guys how do I run the video card on a lion Nvidea Gforce 8600GT 1gb :)

My 9600 GT works - only added gpu info in DSDT (also used in Snow Leo).

Modern chameleon didnt need that, they have autographic injection, the older EFI bootloader not.

So use DSDT patching or graphics string injection (i think XPC/##### can handle that also beside dsdt).

Had same problem here, solved unplugging all HDs but Lion's one. Serial port is disabled in BIOS.

Thank you, spent a whole day thinking I couldn't make an ##### flashdrive. It's too many partitions for ##### too handle. Unplug extra harddrives got the ##### gui to come up. Thank you!

After few attempts, I've finally managed to run ##### from USB 8 gb pendrive (my specs in signature). Drive has MBR scheme and has two partitions: 1# 2 GB fat32 with ##### and 2# 6 GB with Lion installation disk (recovered BaseSystem.dmg with all necessary modifications, as in instructions on forum).

I can invoke GUI and change parameters in menu that i see after pressing 'M'. Problem starts when I try to run Lion Install Disk. Bootloader seems to hangup. In GUI mode if I try to run Lion Installation with -v parameter, I get message like "Please wait: Booting Verbose Mode", but it gets nowhere from here.

If I boot without GUI, I just get black screen and HDD light is not flashing (I've set second partition of my pendrive as a default drive for booting).

I'm using custom made DSDT that works good in Snow Leopard 10.6.5 and I got my serial port turned off.

I've tried disabling IDE chip in BIOS, but ##### acts the same way. I also tried putting installation disk on HDD (GUID,HTFS+), but nothing changes.

Any suggestions are welcome.

With XPI it looks like this

Sorry for my english... :)

I asked you, if you use your DSDT.aml loaded directly by Lion partition not in bootloader...

in my notebook, i start with ##### and with DSDT.aml that i use in Snow (patched for my graphic mobile card) but if i put it in the bootloader (#####) when lion come to desktop, the GPU (resolution and QE/Ci) don't works...

If I use NVenabler.kext, my GPU works.

But i prefere use my DSDT.aml that I use with Snow Leopard but i dont know how load it by Lion...

Okay, guys - I now have native resolution on my GTX470 with dual monitor support.

198892_10150107512488806_501273805_6354194_6135516_n.jpg

Originally, I had followed the steps via netkas' blog, but it still wasn't working.

Adding/installing the ATY_Init.kext from netkas is what did the trick.

If you don't want to hunt around for the correct kexts, you can get them here:

http://cl.ly/0l1S2T2b2x1V3y2B2o0E <---Fermi Drivers

http://netkas.org/?p=640 <---64-bit ATY_Init.kext

Hope this helps some people out,

Let me know if it does or not...

Well you need to use the fdisk in the precompile folder.

I added a new comment where you can download the sources and precompile.

It's the original chameleon source with some light modification.

I suggest to install it to your diskXs2, and your extra folder on the lion partition.

I know almost nothing about AMD so I can't help you with that.

The GPU is AMD (HD5450 PCIe) - the CPU is Intel's Celeron DC (E1200 currently, but will upgrade to E3400 next week).

The mod involves the Kabyl bootloader (for adding HD5xxx QE/CI) for Snow (not Lion). I've actually finally got QE/CI (and proper display support) on the Snow side.

I have been wrestling with Lion for the last 2,3 days and never had the time to explore ##### further until today.

The interesting thing I discovered by accident is that it makes a big difference how I format the USB stick–by this I mean using wither Windows or Mac. I tried it a few times to make sure I can consistently produce same results.

If I use Mac to do it, it reveals all features the developers intend, such as GUI as default. If I format the stick in Windows (which was a big mistake on my part), the bootup screen is so unpredictable to the point I lost confidence and had to keep pounding keys blindly, hoping to achieve certain effect.

It is also very interesting about this loader, in which I think it has a lot of potential. The boot-up screen is minimalist and clean, very much like that od Apple. It is certainly, for now, has a following of Lion testers. That said, Chameleon is still the most flexible and elegant in its own right–and it's only a matter of time its developers will put in feature to handle Lion.

Anyone have a solution for ALC888 audio? I really appreciate it. Then I would would have a complete install. I tried the kext for 10.6 but it did not work.

check through the posts, it's been mentioned quite a few times.

look for blackosx's posts, i got the solution from him.

sorry I can't be more help, but I am not digging through 14 pages, lol. perhaps look or send him a PM?

good luck!

Please, test with DVD-Player..

anyone had any luck with ALC889? Having to use AppleHDA.kext from Snow Leo to get it to work atm... and that doesn't work as well as with 10.7's AppleHDA.kext obviously :D

Getting a lot of crackling when, for example, system sounds play while music's playing. >: I've tried modifying the DSDT in post 207 to work with ALC889 but that just gives me the same issue as with my original DSDT edits: Audio shows in System Information, Sound Preferences shows no outputs/inputs. =/

Ok here is what im running and what i did. i have successfully installed and booted Lion..Slow as heck but still booted.

**All under root user**

1. partitioned a 16g flash in to 2 partitioned with MBR

A-”#####”is 1.5g and FAT32

B-”install”is the rest in Mac OS ExJn

2.Ran XPC Prep tool on “#####”, removed and re-connected flash

3.Transferred Contents of ‘#####-1.2.zip’ on to “#####”

4.Restored BaseSystem.dmg to “install”

5.Copied hidden folder “Packages” into “install/System/Installation/”

6.Added FakeSMC.kext to “install/system/library/extensions/”

**Note-add any other custom KEXTS you need from your working 10.6 install**

7.Rebooted to Flash Drive, WAITED 5 minuts for ##### to launch-that was the key was to wait.

8.Press “M” and changed boot args to “-v -f arch=i386″ **i do this cuz some of my customs KEXTS are 32bit only** Then Escape to exit the menu.

9.Press “G” to generate .AMLs

10.Using arrow keys chose “install”

11 this booted to the installer. Here is chose my “Lion” partiitoned i had already created.

12.Rebooted back to working 10.6

13.repeated step 6 onto “Lion” and also removed "Lion/system/library/corservices/PlatformSupport.plist"

14.restarted to USB FLASH, waited again and chose “Lion” to boot.

15 Booted to Lion!!

Now i do have a few things to work on, such as my wireless, internal keyboard and trackpad. Also it freezs like clock work every 17secs. Extremely slow. Also only detects ONE memory bank with 2g but states i have 3g when in reality i have 4gs. something to do with the system bios. ##### would not let me patch the bios with “P” but i have a feeling this is why its so slow and does not detect my wireless as well since my wireless is detected on 10.6 with retail kexts.

Here is what i have.

Gateway M-6816

1.5ghz Intel Core 2 Duo

4gbs DDR2 667mhz

320g Sata 300g-10.6.6 Server/20g-10.7b

TrueMobile Wireless Card

Sigmatel 9205 Audio

Intel GMA X3100 144shared RAM Video

Hope this all helps and perhaps sparks some ideas t fix my slowness issue.

Just curious..has anyone successfully made 6970/6950 work with Lion?

I've seen some posts saying 6870/6770 work with Lion out of box, no injection needed what so ever. So I am very curious if this working_out_of_box thing apply all the way up to 6900 series..or not

Ok. now only two Problems.. cant activate QE/CI on my Geforce 9600GT

and my System Runs too fast.. the System-Clock is running in onehour about One Hour and 10 Minutes...

Think thats why Videoplayback is out of Sync between Sound and Video and Sound chops every few Seconds...

But how to fix that without the Busratio-Flag?

well, i had the same slow issue in my machine (ep31-ds3l q8300) and the problem was the wifi card. I have a dlink dwa-547 recognized as a airport extreme on snow (atheros chip). I removed the card and now snow is fast as hell. Iuse the realtek 8168 (OOB) to coneect to internet.

Made many tests and found that you have to unplug only HDs connected to JMicron controller for #####/XPC to work; any HD plugged to ICH SATA controller (4 in my rig) are ok as well as USB HDs(1) and pendrives(2) :D .

spent about 5 hours today and finally installed OS X Lion on my G41m-ES2L rev 1.0

GeForce GT220 Graphics card- not natively will try some kexts and report

NetGear WN311B wifi card- not natively will try some kexts and report

audio- not working

Core2Quad Q8400 processor- "About this Mac" dose not show right info

Shutdown- works

Sleep- only makes the cursor disappear

Restart- will log out of OS to a black screen but will not completly restart computer

Micro Bluetooth 2.1 Adapter (33902) Kensington- works natively

I used the ##### that you have to setup with windows. I Can't get it to load my DSDT tho. If it is even capable of doing that. I also just installed fakesmc.kext to s/l/e of the BaseSystem and fixed permissions in terminal because i was going crazy with permission problems in single user mode lol :)

Thanks to everybody here that has been working on this and everyone outside of here to!!!!

I have a working install of Lion. It runs on my acer 5741g and on my real mac but i want to run it on my rampage 2 extreme.

The problem is that ##### will not probably boot on my rampage. It shows mbr starting after this a small line appears and still stays there.

Where could be the problem any solutions?
