No links. No pictures. No instructions on how or where to find it. Only my word that a beta version of Office: Mac 2008 is now available for download from "the usual sources". Oh, did I mention I saw a Demon and a PiG today?

Oh, and if you happen to get your hands on a copy, be sure to give us your take on the new Office. Thanks. :P

EDIT: Well ok, maybe one image won't hurt, as I didn't even make it.

I've dreamed about a Demon last night, too. And surprisingly I've seen him today, too. What will he tell me the next days? We will see... :(

Now that iWork has Numbers bundled in I wonder how useful this will be. Without Access it's just another Microsoft application that does away with Apple design standards.

I guess we'll have to wait and see :D

Hmmmm...nice Splash Screens, nice loading times, nice interface, nice transitions (as seen in the "Ribbon"-Element)

It's insane. There's not even loading - you click on Microsoft Word, it's open. Obviously after the initial time you open it, which it sets up the whole app.

Thank you MS, now I can get rid of Windows...

I love iWork, but I can't find a way to insert equations for my lab reports. Word and Entourage seem pretty fast and stable for being in beta. Haven't used the other two.

I just un-installed Office 2008, Word and Entourage seemed to be Ok for the most part although I was rather concerned to hear Entourage calls home (apparently) also entourage had some niggling issues (wouldn't remember to use month view on the calendar, my day wouldn't display all day events)

Excel seems to have a memory / cpu issue as it was using almost 100% cpu whenever I had it open and kept stopping while it thought about stuff before doing it.

I didn't try power point so I cant comment on that one.

Still it shows great promise for what we can expect in January assuming they stick to the current schedule! I am now even more impatient and excited!

Did anybody actually read the Software License Agreement?:

3. TIME-SENSITIVE SOFTWARE. The software will stop running sixty days after you install it. You will not receive any other notice. You may not be able to access data used with the software when it stops running.

We need to start looking for a "fix".

OK, guys, I am in the process of writing a 3 page Office 2008 review and will post it as soon as it is done.

It's really fast, wow. Much more usable as 2004. Also, no iWork for me. I need the best compatibility with Windows Office documents for my school.

Finally Office 2008 for Mac is released!

I've been waiting for that for ages...

at last I can do Microsoft Office files properly in a Mac. Doing them in Office 2004 doesn't count (because office 2004 sucks compared to 2007).

What happens if one puts clock to oct 2009 and installs and then set back time to oct 2007. What will happen then?
