1. No USB-support after upgrade from 10.11.3 to 10.11.6

Thanks Hervé! So just installing the kext from Rehabman wouldn't be enough? Thing is that I don't have a DSDT running nor available to use it. I was looking for a DSDT for my HP Compaq 8100 Elite CMT around the web but couldn't find one. I know it's difficult with OEM hardware, however, since quite a few people have this hardware running I wonder why there is no DSDT available anywhere that I can work with in MaciASL to edit the DSDT to my specifications. Or is there a 'blank' DSDT that I could edit with only the USB devices inside? I'm a bit stuck here. I was installing the latest kext from Rehabman but that didn't change anything. I still have to boot from -f to have USB at all. If I don't have a DSDT, where else can I adjust/rename the EHCx to EH0x? BTW, I know now that I have an Intel Q57 Express chipset running thanks to this Chinese website .
2. How/Why is This Person Booting Chameleon on a Real Mac?

I was just browsing this topic and i was thinking of risking it and installing e.g. Mavericks on my Mid 2007 white MacBook with C2D 2,16GHz and 4 GB Ram. It was originally only supporting up to 10.7.8 and since these machines are not realy worth a dime nowadays why not trying this out. Any suggestions how I should do it?
3. Hi folks, it's been a while since I had to set up a new mackintosh for me but since my Mavericks system got screwed due an sudden power failure I needed new hardware and got a used i5-system from my uni. It's a HP Compaq 8100 Elite CMT with an i5@750 2,67 Ghz, 8 GB Ram, a Nvidia NVS300 graphic card. It has a HP motherboard from 2010 with the name tag "Infineon-C 505799-001". I installed El Capitan 10.11.3 with the help of a USB-stick and Enoch according to the install guide from user 'VoiletDragon' over at the tonymac page but was never able to boot the Mackintosh afterwards with Clover and decided to boot in in a kind of legacy way by installing Enoch 2848 to my Mac partition and putting the kext's for AppleIntelE100e, FakeSMC, and NullCPUPowerManagement in /Extra. I also installed VoodooHDA 2.8.8 from it's own installer. So everything was working fine and absolutely splendid in 10.11.3 However, I wanted to update to 10.11.6 and backed up my /Extras as well as all extensions from /S/L/Extensions. I installed the 10.11.6 combo update and replaced the Kernel with the patched kernel for 10.11.6 that has been provided by user 'VoiletDragon' in his install guide. I then fixed the permissions and did the reboot of the system. And the only thing that fails is the USB support which just doesn't exist anymore. Nothing, no Apple keyboard, no USB mouse...nothing. I only have full USB support if I boot by ignoring the caches ( -f ) in Enoch. Any ideas what I have to look for? Is there a patch somewhere or do I have to replace some extensions? If this might help to get closer to the problem I'm posting my .plist's here as well. Any ideas are more than welcome!! Here's my smbios.plist (just crossed out parts of my serial): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMbiosdate</key> <string>03/09/13</string> <key>SMbiosvendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>IM141.88Z.0118.B00.1309031248</string> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-031B6874CF7F642A</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>iMac</string> <key>SMmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMmemmanufacturer_1</key> <string>Elpida</string> <key>SMmemmanufacturer_2</key> <string>Kingston</string> <key>SMmemmanufacturer_3</key> <string>Elpida</string> <key>SMmemmanufacturer_4</key> <string>Samsung</string> <key>SMmempart_1</key> <string>EBJ21UE8BDF0-DJ-F0</string> <key>SMmempart_2</key> <string>HP497157-C01-ELDW</string> <key>SMmempart_3</key> <string>EBJ21UE8BDF0-DJ-F0</string> <key>SMmempart_4</key> <string>M378B5773CH0-CH9</string> <key>SMmemserial_1</key> <string>A A F 1 3 C A 4</string> <key>SMmemserial_2</key> <string>A 7 3 F F 4 4 1</string> <key>SMmemserial_3</key> <string>8 5 7 E 2 2 D E</string> <key>SMmemserial_4</key> <string>6 6 2 0 6 B A 5</string> <key>SMmemspeed</key> <string>1333</string> <key>SMmemtype</key> <string>24</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>iMac14,1</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>C02XXXXXF8J2</string> <key>SMsystemversion</key> <string>1.0</string> </dict> </plist> And here is my org.chameleon.boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1200x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>HDAEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>darkwake=0 dart=0</string> <key>KeyLayout</key> <string>mac-de</string> <key>SMBIOS</key> <string>/Extra/SMBios.plist</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> </dict> </plist>
4. Hey there, I'm wondering about a problem with my Hackintosh, that's bothering me for a couple of days now. When I boot into the finder of 10.9.3 (13D65) the Hackintosh simply shuts down after loading all the background processes. When I restart the Hackintosh there's no service report about a previous failure that caused the shutdown nor any information. What I found out so far....when I open the system specs info or any other app it won't shut down. Only if I just boot into the finder and let it stay untouched. At first I thought it is caused by over-heating of the HD or CPU, but the CPU is running at 32° C and the HD at 30° C. However, at the time the problem occurred I installed Nullriver's MediaLink which is a streaming software to give my access to the Mac HD from my PlayStation 3. So I uninstalled MediaLink, I fixed the permission rights with DiskUtility and KextHelper....nothing. Situation hasn't been changed. Do you have any idea or thoughts what I could check next? Is there any crash report file that I could look into or that I can make available to you? My hardware specs are to find in my signature below. Thank you for any suggestions in advance.
5. [Guide] Upgrading to Mavericks on GA-EP35-DS3L

Update for 10.9.3: Same procedure as before....just run it from the App Store, reboot. Everything works like a charme. And the eject key on my Apple keyboard is supported again. Perfectly done!
6. [Guide] Upgrading to Mavericks on GA-EP35-DS3L

Update to 10.9.2 worked the same way...just updated from within the App Store, rebooted and all worked like before. Only problem I have since 10.9.1.: eject key from Apple's keyboard won't work in the finder anymore. :/
7. [Guide] Upgrading to Mavericks on GA-EP35-DS3L

10.9.1 is out...anyone tried the update yet? Update to 10.9.1 worked smoothly. I just did a copy of my drive with Carbon Copy Cloner for safety reasons. However, I did the Update from the App Store, restarted the system and there was 10.9.1 No trouble at all...everything works like before.
8. [Guide] Upgrading to Mavericks on GA-EP35-DS3L

Is there any experience with the GA-EP35-DS4? I've made a clean install on a test drive. Have no sound or ethernet there so far. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Yes, there is! Now, I found out that you need the IONetworkingFamily.kext from your previous 10.6/10.7/10.8 installation for working ethernet - install it with tools like kext utility, restart - done. For audio, just run multi...you know tool I'm talking about (any version) and select in the drivers section the ALC889/885 without DSTL. Repair system preferences and reboot - boom, there you go. Just forget AppleHDA. Last thing is graphics. By default, Mavericks will let me boot in 1024x768. Looks kinda weird on a 24" so I changed the resolution in my org.chameleon.Boot.plist in /Extra to 1920x1080. My graphics card (AMD Sapphire HD6850 1GB) is regocnized by the system out of stock, I've added a DSTL from my previous 10.8.5 installation - but I have no possibility to change to another resolution via system preferences-->monitors. There appears nothing - nada...rien...just nothing. --> holding down the option key while clicking on "scaled" reveals three possible resolutions...better than nothing.
9. Hi there, I just wanted to know which things I should back-up before I try to update my HackMac from 10.8.4 to 10.8.5 The constant info that a new update is available bothers me so I guess I will try to do the update. However, I'm running 10.8.4 on the Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS4 board and an ATI Radeon HD 6850 and have chameleon installed as bootloader. See my signature for details! Everything works fine except for sleep mode (won't come back after sending it t sleep). I've got it running via ##### 4.6.1. Oh - is there a way to find out which settings I've selected once when configuring #####? I can't remeber the settings. So - what do you suggest I should backup before doing the update (like the custom DSDT, smbios.plist, org.chameleon.Boot.plist in /Extra)? Any 'security measures'? Thanks in advance.
10. 10.8.5 out

Does anyone know if the Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS4 Mainboard will work with it? I have 10.8.4 running just fine except for sleep mode. I would update to 10.8.5 if anybody has an idea for what I have to look/save/backup before I do the update. Thx in advance!

Was ist da los? Allerdings komme ich dem Thema Ruhezustand bislang nicht näher. Frustrierend.
15. iTunes Match Problem?

I didn't had the Match problem you're discussing here, but instead iTunes crashed each time I've started it since upgrading from 10.5.0 to 10.5.1 under OS 10.6.8. The solution you provided helped me get it running again. Before that, I've tried re-installing itunes 10.5.1 from the scratch, tried to repair permissions...nothing worked. But this one posted here! Thanks again so I can stop drumming my own beats on my desktop a wake up my neighbours!
