Hi!

I make all that the first instructions in the first page of this post...

All has gone well but usb and firewire sometimes don´t work properly... I explain:

I have an external box 300GB Seagate Barracuda USB... If it is on when I prompt my hackintosh, the hack will recognize it... If it is off when prompt and I put on it when the hack is prompted, will not work.

I have a Firewire Sound Interface TC ELECTRONIC KONNEKT LIVE (HTTP://www.tcelectronic.com/KonnektLive.asp) and occurs the same... If on when prompt, works, if off, not work.

Please, HELP ME.

Xbench is the most inaccurate benchmarking system ever, so I wouldn't take any results from it seriously. And besides, its only a difference of 3 points. If you want serious benchmarks I recommend Geekbench.

Just get kalyway 10.5.3 combo update and follow simple instruction if you are looking for simple way... if you want to learn than you can use whatever method you like... i used kelyway 10.5.3 update with no problems what so ever.

After the update to 10.5.4 I've got only an issue: when I've to turn off the pc, the system shutdown but the fans keep working and I've to press the power button for 4 sec.

I think this is caused by the Vanilla kernell. There's something I can tweak in Bios settings or can I only change the Kernel?

thank you.

Have you done this?

run "2_kalyway_10.5.3_kernel.pkg"

Do NOT select ANY of the Kernels listed. By leaving them unchecked, it will keep the Sleep kernel we installed during the 10.5.2 installation - this is needed for proper restart/shutdown.

yes, but this is for the update to 10.5.3. After the update to 10.5.4 I've the Vanilla Kernel 9.4.0

You rock, man...I'll give that one a shot. Hope your rebuild goes smoothly. :)

It works perfectly, detects as Airport right after Leopard is done installing (no kext editing needed). I got everything working perfect on 10.5.4 but no matter what I try with the audio, it doesn't work.

can i upgrade to 10.5.4 after using this method? im neww

thanxx

I don't know your hardware but I think you can.

- 10.5.3 kalyway update

- reboot

- apple 10.5.4 delta update (not the combo) link

- reboot

- NVinstaller v.52 (for nvidia card)

- reboot

I've had some issue with the shutdown, but I've solved it easily thanks to macciti (& the gui who has found the way). Read previous post in this page.

This is the pcwiz approved update method! Use weaksauce's update guide, worked great for me. I don't know about video support though, NVinject sometimes stops working after 10.5.3, so if you are using NVinject, before updating, I strongly recommend that you switch to a GFX string.

Feel free to steal the download package and instructions from my tutorial, I update the guide from time to time (i.e. things may change in the future) so go ahead and integrate it with your tutorial if you'd like to :D

Thanks weaksauce! Really appreciated, sometime when I have time I will integrate just the update portion of your guide into this one to make it more convenient! Once again, thanks, and I will make sure to credit you in the guide :D
