We must have been on the same train of thought. I pulled dock.app from kalyways install and thats what remembers the open folders. I added it to my install repaired permissions and BAM.. ITs now remembering open folders and relaunching open folders when finder crashes. Amazing. Kalyway is a genius. Kaly even made his own patch to get the icons and dock back, which is only 20 megs (he knew better then me what to replace), so no need to be rude to them By no means am I trying to take anything away from Kaly's and Dune's release, it's the only one I've gotten to work with my hardware minus the flat image method. I apologize to both, but hope in the future they will both think before going off on someone who is only trying to improve on their work. It also removes a bunch of pre-installed third party apps. I'm looking for some info on OSX structure to make rev2 of the patch, that would change everything including backgrounds. Laiks The Kalyway Leopard is a superb piece of work -and 99% of us are grateful for the skill of Kaly /Dune and team- although they are very smart and professonal guys -it must have cost them many -many hours to achieve the almost impossible task. So I was very sad and then angry that there are some people out there- who are like spoilt children - not only want a faultless and free method of putting the Mac on a PC -but then whine because a few Icons are not to their taste! Get real! I have installed in on my P5W DH -and everything works perfectly-Thank you Kaly /Dune and all the others that contributed -you are genius Please do not take any notice of the few Bad guys out their who just want to make trouble or are jealous of your great skill. Please keep up the good work. I think also that Laiks should leave the software modifications to the Professionals because -as he admits -he is not skilled enough to make changes and will destroy an excellent piece of work. My experiance with the Mac OSX has converted me completely-so that I not have Macbook Pro. When Apple produce Desktop Mac that is between an iMac and a MacPro -I will buy that as well BTW -I had some initial problems with installation-it would not instal without errors on Guid and had a blinking error on MBR. I eventually overcome this by zero- out format of the hard disk and doing Guid install again. I ran both the virginizer and the patch by kaly to restore to original. The file icons have been restored but the Drive icons have not changed back. I also tried candybar, with no luck.....pls help i know it sounds petty but its really going to drive me crazy..... Great job on this build......there a people out there with a true talent, that i wish i had.....congrats... So we messed up leo ? then buy a real Mac. It seems that in the Read Me, we recommand to buy Leopard. So if you did it, all the voice and printers addons that missing in our release can be found on the original Leo DVD. I doubt you realise all the works we did to make this release. Our reaction comes from the fact that Laik didn't touch us for make his Appli, because we know what we changed and to avoid to touch things that have not to be touch. so if you think we haven't offered something good to this community, it is your opinion. but when i saw words like this , it gives the impression of having spend a lot of energy for nothing. So, in your opinion, that's us who have introduced possible instabilities. i hope , you are kidding.... background color and icons change introduce instabilities,didn't know that....Look around you and see the posts "one" have his leo install broken by this appli , another his multiboot broken and this is we want to avoid. we try to be fair and rigorous to provide as much support as possible. That's all kALYway, great work!! You're the man. I don't know what these people are talking about. I just installed it on an external drive and it went perfect. Had too many problems with iAtkos. Background and icons are stock apple. And the bigest problem. Since i have installed this i cant open google.com and gmail.com page? i tryed with safari and firefox but page is only loading on and on and nothing hepeing? and i cant opet this forum too ? all other pages are opening fine... so whats the problem? clutchuser Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 I've fixed the orange icon issue. I believe they represent mac external drives . I have no external drives connected to this box. Once kalyway is installed I can change my sata drives back to IDE instead of AHCI. Icons are back to the default picture like HDD icons. I have not noticed any loss in performance since i switched to the IDE setting, So i will leave this setting untill i have a reason to change back. all the other stuff about Orange backgrounds are easily fixed. I also noticed after switching back to IDE there is no longer a 15 sec pause before the grey apple screen. Right after bios post it stars booting immediately. Very fast!Also. Im a bit confused on the boot rom version. Does this have anything to do with EFI, And how can i verify the EFI installation worked. Thanks for you patience for i am ultra noob.The finder window has blue and white lines by default if you are in list view. If you are in icon view than the background is white by default.
