  1. [Guide] Asus TX201LA. Sierra + Windows 10 using Clover UEFI

Thank You for posting this guide. I own a TX201LA and might give OSX a try on it now that you have completed this very through install guide. AWESOME WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also I wonder if you are aware of the TX201LAF model. It recived an update to android 4.4 over 4.2 for the US model. Asus has it on there site here: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/TX201LAF/HelpDesk_BIOS/ The problem is trying to mod the model to accept this update to android 4.4. I know now it may not seem like much of an update for 4.2 but it really is. 4.4 is as fast as 5.0 as for speed. It does not have all of the 5.0 features but it has most of them. I have tried to update the firmware to 4.4 using the LAF model info but need help. Are you interested in getting this done? Also I should add that the TX201LA has the exact same CPU & ram as the Asus zenphone 5, which has updates to android 6. So theoretically there should be able to mod that firmware to run on the tablet.
  2. Hello, I am trying to figure out a solution similar to this one: https://justus.berlin/2015/10/restore-old-disk-utility-in-os-x-el-capitan/ For system information app that is part of macOS 10.12. System information in case you did not know has storage manager and optimize storage, these 2 features if you can trick the app into running will likely bring some nice features to older OSX version. I have tried changing the info.plist, version.plist within the app and also tried the old system version plist on my 10.9 install to get it to run with no luck. I think a hex edit hack like the one done on device manager may work, but I have no idea what key to look for. Any help?
  3. This topic applies to 10.9-10.10 thus the multiple posts. I have no idea who will actually take up my topic in any of those sub forums. If I am stuck to just 10.9 Ill never know and its all your fault..
  4. DELETE.. Post needs to go in post install....
  5. El Capitan HD

Thanks I'm finally getting some help here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/page-75 I am now stuck at the prohibited symbol. I may try this install method if I continue not to get anywhere.
  6. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Ahh ok. The 10.11 install does seem to work a little better than 10.10. Even with busratio=17 and cpus=1 I get to the install but it restarts at some point anyway. So El capitan maybe a better bet or at least clover is. Going to try some of this: "Prohibited" sign on boot Try booting verbose. If it's complaining about OsxAptioDrvFix and relocation block, make sure you're booting from a drive with the latest version of Clover (3270+). This was a common problem with older versions of Clover. If OsxAptioDrvFix doesn't work, try OsxAptioDrv2Fix (but not both at once). For a 2500K, 2600K, or other Core i5 and Core i7 'K' Sandy Bridge CPUs you may need to boot with cpus=1 until you can either install the correct SSDT.aml or finish the install and put NullCPUPowerManagement.kext into /Library/Extensions/ If you get all garbled text and/or the message "Still waiting for root device" with the prohibited sign: Try the install USB in every single USB port on your case, motherboard, add-on PCI card, USB hub, etc. and see if it gets farther on any of those If you're using a USB3 stick, use a USB2 stick and try all USB ports again Try booting with cpus=1. If you have USB hub or a port replicator, try putting the install USB in there Double-check SMBios selection: MacPro3,1 may be the most reliable in general UPDATE: After trying the above I get the prohibited symbol after a bluetooth controller transport is missing problem. I tried different USB ports, I tried cpus=1, I tried MacPro3,1 typed it in in clover. I also made sure the usb ownership and usb injection were both on. Still I got the prohibited sign with scrambled text. Any ideas?

Interesting that you say that. I have a build of 10.10 with chameleon that booted with the busratio=17. I have a clover 10.11 build that will not boot even with that flag. Since clover has the CPU detection it does not work for my system. The 10.11 build still will not boot and I got a large strike through circle when it panics. Any ideas? It seems it maybe the combo of busratio=17 and cpus=1 that works. I did not think it was cpus=1 made a difference cuz I have used that before without success. Still with both of these flags clover will not boot the 10.11 install. I guess I'm going to try to see how far I get with chameleon and 10.10.
  8. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

GhostRaider thanks for your response. What else could it be? Is there anyway to diagnose it? Like I said I cant seem to see any pattern in the panics. I have tried a lot of different flags but none seem to make a difference. I cant even get in on single user mode which is quite bad. There is another user here with almost the same setup but its an HP computer. See: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293836-hp-dv4-2154ca-mavericks-boot-problem/ He was able to osx to finally boot but his tutorial is not detailed enough for me to get anything useful from it. Is there anything you think I can try? I'm open to suggestions. I got in.. Busratio=17 is a must.. Any idea why?
  9. El Capitan HD

Well I could delete the AppleIntelHDGraphicsfb kext's and rebuild the kext cache but it will likely end up the same as before. If I can give you an idea of where it crashes could you help me diagnose the true problem? My system is really similar to this one: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293836-hp-dv4-2154ca-mavericks-boot-problem/ He somehow got Mavericks to work but I still got no where because his install method was not detailed enough to show everything he did to get it to work. There is something I am missing that will make this work but I am not sure what it is. I dont want to just give up, because I get really close to it working and than it just panics.
  10. El Capitan HD

How does this install work with 1st generation intel hd graphics? I have a Dell Studio 1749 with a core i3-350 CPU and 8gb ram & intel 5700 hd grapics, & Broadcom wifi. I have had NO success with any installers or builds 10.9-10.11 I have tried. I get a panic before ever getting to the install screen typically. I have yet to try your install method but I assume I will have the same issue I always have. I have deleted the AppleIntelHDGraphics kext with no success on each install I have tried, even rebuilt the kext cache and no change. Anyway I was wondering if there was any suggestions you might have for me If I use your method? I am assuming I will have the same issues as the rest. Here is the thread I have used that helps with 1st gen intel HD. The problem is it wont work on my machine, leading me to believe its something else I'm missing. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/
  11. HP DV4-2154ca - Mavericks - {{Boot problem}}

Thank You for the guide. I have a Dell 1749 which has the EXACT same issue you have. I get to the clover or chameleon bootloader and than I get a instant reboot. I will try to build my install like yours and see I get any further. From my multiple tries before I had the same results as you. Removing the kest has not worked for me on its own. ##### will not run a 2nd time. After removing intelhd kext I have to skip this step. I tried adding -s to the boot up and still i get panic on launchd (this time). I need more detailed steps to how you got where you got. My system is very similar and I know im close. Can you add more detail to the steps? i have confirmed that my laptop uses the LVDS connector so I should be good there. Its just getting past the install screen without a panic that is my issue. Do you have any additional tips for me to try looking at my specs? I am really not sure what is causing my install to panic like it does & reboot. I actually get into the install a lot of times and than panic on the install bar. I know its graphics but Im not sure what else i can try. Also I have gotten freezes on waiting for root device and panic right after dsmos has arrived but its not consistently the same spot that it panics, sometimes i get to the install and it starts and than it panics. Here are my specs: Dell studio 1749 2.26 core i3-350m NO ATI or Nvidia graphics only intel Display Technology : TrueLife WLED 900p(standard) Dell Wireless 1520
  12. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

I am still in the same boat. I thought that perhaps after removing the intel hd grapics kext that not rebuilding the kext cache was the issue but still I get an instant reboot. Even single user mode does not work. Must be something else. Anyone have an idea?

HI.. Sorry to dig up an old thread.. But I could really use your help. I have a dell studio 1749 that I'm trying to install yosemite on. With the intel HD gen 1 graphics.
