Macpaq
I am lost. I keep seeing this ToH patch mentioned. But I googled it, I went on p-bay, I searched the file system on my ToH installtion, it's no where to be found. Where is it anyway? Does it even exist? If it does exist, what dose this patch patches? fagosu
Ok, yesterday I finally got the courage to try and install this release. I put the dvd in, I fired it up and after almost 2 hours I upgraded my Uphuck 10.4.9 P4 SSE2 to Leopard with EVERYTHING working!! Sound,Network, QE/CI, resolution change (I used Natit v0.2) I didn't have to edit anything, it was slow but totally painless. Great Job ToH Team!!. The only thing that I had problems with yesterday was System Profiler, it keeps crashing. If anybody knows how to fix this I will appreciate if they can show me how. Thanks Again ToH Team Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68815-osx86-105-leo-toh-rc2-sse3sse2-intel-only/page/12/#findComment-506043 Share on other sites
Detosx
I followed a suggested install method with some success - formatting the partition with Tiger DVD, installing TOH and then, from the DVD installers Terminal, running the script to make it bootable. I got the grey screen with the apple and the spinning cog but the cog froze, so I tried as suggested and, from the F8 prompt, typed cpus=1 . This time I got to a blue screen where the Leopard welcome screen should be. Any suggestions to what I might try next? I suspect it comes down to my laptop having the X3100 graphics chip rather than old faithful G950, but I thought I would at least see Vessa graphics rather than just a blue screen. BlackFlux
I tried upgrading, after it asked me to restart my laptop it just boots back to desktop. I think it's supposed to upgrade, but it just boots back to the desktop. What are steps to upgrading from Tiger to Leopard? 0ldsch00lpunk
After a few attempts at installing the ToH version from scratch I load the Kalaway 10.4.10 install and then upgraded w/ ToH on top of it. I now have a bootable working 10.5. What doesn't work. System Prefs. Maintenance. Kext Helper beta 6. Sound. What does work. Office 2008. Onyx (except for repairing permissions). Firefox. VLC. Acrobat 8 Pro. Hardware. IBM NetVista w/ 80GB EIDE Hard Drive 1.5GB Ram Intel Pro 100 VE NIC 845 Mainboard. xopher
Thanks for a great release! It was pretty painless to install and looks great! Just a few problems I'd like to solve (#4 is the biggest one): 1. GMA900 driver, which isn't included in this release (resolution works but I don't have QE) 2. System Profiler doesn't work 3. Sleep doesn't work 4. The system is really sluggish. I mean, it works just fine at times, but eg. when opening a menu or something it just feels like it stalls, and it takes forever to open it. Booting also takes a really long time -- and installing anything also takes forever.. 5. Wireless works, but refuses to connect to my WEP-protected AP (connects fine to my neighbours unprotected though ) Could problems 1 and 4 be related? Or is problem 4 more likely to be a hdd-problem? My system is a Acer Aspire 3623 laptop, with a 1.5Ghz Celeron M processor, and obviously the GMA900 gfx's. Thanks in advance, I really hope I can get most of this fixed! Im already in love with Leopard, but january (the rumored release of the 'ultra-portable' macbook) is too far away Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68815-osx86-105-leo-toh-rc2-sse3sse2-intel-only/page/12/#findComment-507293 Share on other sites

milesce
So far so good. Upgraded by 10.4.10 to Leopard, so far so good. Toshiba A105-S4122, GMA950, ALC882 sound, all good. Wired network is fine, but still no wireless (it has the intel 3945abg wireless). However, coolest thing, it recognized the Verizon Express/34 card I used in my MBP right off and dialed in to the 3G network, no problems. Sweet. Using this one as a backup/desktop machine. Only real problem so far is I want to migrate my users over from my real mac, and while firewire works fine, and it mounts the other mac in target disk mode, Migration assistant just seems to hang out and not do anything. Time Machine works. A little bit of mouse artifacts on the video on my external monitor.
