Lion Installation via DVD without any BootCD

Hi, Fantastic installer, but for me fails in one important thing, it doesn't boot without the cd. Is there a step that I missed or do I have to install the bootloader manually? Thanks for the great work
  3. Thanks for your answer. Unfortuntely it does appear that my firmware version is the problem. I'm looking into upgrading the firmware on it, but since it is a very cheap module I don't have much hope. I'll keep trying. Thanks Yes, I noticed that but that is the way my computer reports it. That's how I saw that there was something wrong. Thanks
  4. Hi everyone, I'm trying to make my CSR bluetooth adapter work with snow leopard 10.6.8. It is a Cambridge Silicon Radio and OSX recognizes it and I can pair any phone to my hack, but when I try to send or receive a file I get a "there was a problem connecting to the device" after a long wait. This is what I have in System Profiler under USB Bluetooth USB Host Controller: BSD Name: en2 Product ID: 0x0001 Vendor ID: 0x0a12 (Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd.) I already checked CSRUSBBluetoothHCIController.kext inside IOBluetoothFamily.kext and my device and Vendor ids are there, so I don't know what's going on. Thanks

Nokia wins patent war against Apple

The other companies manufacturing smartphones (Samsung, Motorola, et al) ALREADY pay Nokia licensing fees.

    Retail 10.6 for Asrock owners

Well, after a weekend of installing/screwing up/installing again/screwing up again (you get the idea) I was able to install 10.6.3, but Chameleon RC3 always gives me a "install failed" message and after rebooting only the blinking cursor shows. I changed to RC5 and now the bootloader loads and presents me with the HDD, but when selected BOOM, kernel panic. I already put the preboot.dmg kexts in Extra/Extensions and from the cd boots OK but from the HD fails (SATA HD and DVD). I will try again next weekend and report back

    Retail 10.6 for Asrock owners

Hi! Can somebody let me know what version of the boot-132 cd was on the first post? The link doesn't work and I would love to try this method on an 945GCM-S mobo that I purchased at a garage sale last weekend. Thanks
  10. According to Appleinsider, Apple and AMD are in "advanced discussions" to bring the chipmaker's processors to upcoming Macs, potentially breaking the exclusive relationship Apple has held with Intel since moving away from PowerPC processors. http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/04..._amd_chips.html
  11. Great to hear that you are finally up and running and sorry I couldn't be of more help. Cheers
  12. Oh, sorry my mistake. i thought I read you were using vanilla. I'll read the messages and try to help. Sorry again.
  13. Well, if you are using vanilla kernel you don't need to type anything at the boot prompt according to the guide. That is only for people who are using a patched kernel (eg. Voodoo)
  14. Hi guys, it's me again. This time I have a different kind of question. After I upgraded my box to 10.5.6 my USB got so slow that I thought it was nonresponsive. My setup is the following: P4 HT 3.06 Ghz (Prescott I think) w/2Gb RAM BIOSTAR P4M800-M7 Motherboard nVidia Gforce 6200 256Mb AGP OS :Seagate Barracuda 7200 250Gb SATA DATA:Western Digital 200Gb SATA CD :Lite-on IDE DL-DVD-RW drive I'm running voodoo kernel with a boot.plist in EFI partition. My question is: Do I need DSDT? because I noticed a lot of error messages during boot that I never saw before. If somebody can help me with this I would appreciate it . Thanks
  15. Thanks a lot BladeRunner!!! I came in today to search or ask about this!! You guys are awesome.
