jackt283
So close but yet so far. It seems the hotplug issue is an annoying one. Dual DVI monitors is a must to have this card fully supported. Good work man, I hope it will all come together soon!

macintox
Hey mac.nub, any chances of the installer to work with the new 8800 GT 512 (N92 series) ??
jackt283
can anyone confirm is display sleep works on the 8800 gts? Also are brand name specific cards a problem. Is XFX the best or would a Gigabyte/ASUS/or Leadtek do just as well? Thanks.

Completly BLUE ! Another problem, I can't use any monitor GAMMA... If anybody have a solution, it will be very good... Thanxx !
KellyKelly
Thank you so much mac.nub!!!!! I waited for 6 month finally there's a 8800GTS 320MB driver!!! Now QI/Ce everything works great! Video games run so smooth and front row works! I can switch to any resolution, it even recognized my monitor model! I can select the color profile I want. BTW. For people who get's a blue screen after mac are loaded is because you plug it in the wrong DVI slot! Plug the one that is close to the motherboard. Also I tested that DVI direct connection do not need to hotplug cable. Only VGA cable needs to. and here's my screenshot. =] Again thanks mac.nub! aptiaa
Hello mac.nub, firs of all thank you for this extremely straightforward install disk, but I have a problem maybe you can help me with. Or maybe someone had the same problem and managed to fix it. I succesfully installed your DVD, mac.nub 10.4.10 (the latest one). The problem is that I can't boot to the Mac OS X desktop... Yesterday I installed Uphuck 10.4.9 1.4i r3 and I did get to the desktop, but as soon as I installed the drivers for my GeForce 8800 GTX, I rebooted and I never ever managed to get to the desktop again. Then I got your DVD and now I have almost exactly the same problem. Could you please point me in the right direction, if it is not too much trouble for you? MY PC: MOTHER ASUS Striker Extreme nForce 680i (I know it is troublesome). (I checked BIOS and I have HPET enabled) CPU: Intel Core 2 QX6700 VIDEO: ASUS EN8800 GTX 768 MB / PCI Express IDE Hard disk (Set as Master with jumper) DVD DRIVE SONY 830A (In the same cable as the HDD, set as Slave with jumper) FOUR SATA internal Disks. SOUND X Fi Elite Pro POWER OCZ ProXStream Power Supply 1000W - OCZ1000PXS I have many USB peripherals connected, DiNovo Edge Keyboard, Logitech G3 Mouse, etc. I don't know what else to list here... Now I get several messages that could be helpful: SAM Multimedia: Read or Write failed, ASC...... Diskarb isn't ready yet... Kextd_watch_volumes: couldn set diskarb... IOKITWaitQuiet () Timed out diskarbitration (34) unable to mount... BUT lately every boot ends with this message: localhost mDNSResponder: Adding browse domain local. Maybe I wrote the same problem over and over again. But maybe you could help me with this or just give me a link to a post that could help me... I tried booting with cpus=1... -v -x -s, etc. I would be extremely thankful if you could help me. Thanks a lot.

aptiaa
I reinstalled Mac.Nub 10.4.10 with the following options: -Base System -10.4.10 Intel SSE3 Kernel -Intel nForce Kernel 8.10.1 -AppleIntelCPUPower... -System Profiler Patch -SATA Support -GeForce 8800 AMD/nForce Patch -NVinject 8800 768 -Azalia Audio -Forcedeth nForce Ethernet Driver -FrontRow -FrontRow Keyboard... I tryied to boot without cpus=1 and it gives me a message that CPUs started...??? If I boot with -v I get: disk0s1: I/O Timeout and nothing happens next. If I boot with -f -v I get: com.apple.driver.AppleAPIC(1.1)... com.apple.driver.AppleAPICPlatform... dependency: com.apple.IOKitIOPCIFamily dependency: com.apple.IOACPIFamily If I boot with only -v it's the same as above... -x -v I get: kextd-parent(24):kextd parent task timed out waiting for signal from child That's all for now and I cannot boot past that. Anyone can help me??? Thanks.
aptiaa
I reinstalled once more with the following options only: -Base System -10.4.10 Intel SSE3 Kernel -Intel nForce Kernel 8.10.1 -AppleIntel CPUPower -nForce SATA -SATA Support -Azalia -Forcedeth nforce ehternet I get error on boot: NVDARerman.kext (I remove it and reboot) I eliminate all NVDANV30Hal.kext /10/20/30/40/50, all of them. I FINALLY manage to boot into desktop. My onboard ethernet is detected but it doesn't work properly, I cannot acces internet nor the Network... I have a router but when I reboot to Tiger, the light in the router doesn't litght up... It does with Vista. I see the four SATA disks, but I cannot access them all, only some of them. For example, MASTER (Vista's install HDD) is unavailable and Mac OS X completely freezes while trying to access it. I DID NOT Install GeForce 8800 drivers, nor nforce patch that comes with the mac..nub DVD. So I have a lame resolution so far. I will try to install the Geforce now and post the results... I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

ibrudiiv
Hey all! Thanks so much mac.nub for your easy installer but I am having a few problems. :-/ NVinject shows up in verbose mode after the first time installing using the easy installer but booting hangs on the Login Window Application Started line. I booted in safe mode to modify the IOPCIMATCH values on a few kexts to 0x0191de (GeForce 8800 GTX) and NVinject no longer shows up in verbose mode, but I successfully boot into OS X. I've repaired permissions on kernel extensions using a script I found online, and removed the Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache files with no luck. I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.9 and a GeForce 8800 GTX as I said above. Any ideas? Thanks.

mastamind69
YEA !! I got it working.. finaly, the key was after a lot of reading found this from another article.. 1) Remove... NVDANV10Hal.kext, NVDANV20Hal.kext, NVDANV30Hal.kext and NVDANV40Hal.kext from /System/Library/Extensions. 2) Install the latest easy installer, select the MacBook Pro 1.1 Software Update, AMD/nForce Fix, and the 768MB NVinject. 3) Edit GeForce.kext, NVDAResman.kext and NVDANV50Hal.kext put 0x019310de ONLY, under IOPCIMatch in Info.plist in those files, so it shows like this: CODE <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x019310de</string> This is what I changed the ID Ox019310de is for the non GTX so my id for GTX is 0x19110de change that and it works with the BFG 8800 GTX 768 MB card although it seems to report its 256mb will work on that next.. Thanks to all that posted so that I had the resources to make these edits and I did use the Mac.nub disk with 10.4.10 all new kexts from it. and Nforce support. I also downloaed the 8800 from his site and ran the installer then made those edits and rebooted. don't forget to remove the "NVDAResman.kext" after you install first time to get to desktop. I am also plugged in DVI will switch now to my Samsung HDTV 61" 1080P Cheers
