Welcome to the waiting club, this time I'm in my corner waiting for a solution to our collective problem named macOS Ventura... LOL

But I think the wait ended, the success story of @antuneddu, and others gives me hope...

Long time no see @Alex HQuest, I hope you are well and kicking, LOL

Installed 13.0 Beta (22A5295h) successfully.

OpenCore build used: https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/actions/runs/2629783019

Lilu Version used: https://github.com/acidanthera/Lilu/actions/runs/2629842954

Pre-Requisites:  disable SecurebootModel for Installation. Otherwise the installer crashes

Programs Folder is working fine in Dock now. "Utilities" Folder is shown as well.

No issues with installer here without disabling SecureBootModel. Is this specific to SMBIOSes with T2?

Do you have the beta 3 InstallAssistant.pkg ?? I wanted to try to do an installation to see if it keeps asking for a password like beta 2 😄

Thanks

😂  I think it's still early, you can check here  https://mrmacintosh.com/macos-ventura-13-full-installer-database-download-directly-from-apple/    from time to time

softwareupdate --list-full-installers

image.png.4e65e62183e365d4c92de16d0c363af2.png

and, once the full installer is available:

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 13.0

to download it. It'll then create the Installer app in ~/Applications

You might even go as far as writing a simple shell script that runs the first command every so often (using a launch agent) to check if the full installer is available and if so, to inform you about it via notification using osascript or something.

Possibly. I haven't had any issues with System Upates and enabled SecureBootModel in recent times.

Success!!! - The trusty GA-Z390 survived another Ventura battle. Seriously, big thanks to the unsung heroes, mainly the Devs and Testers that made it possible. It goes without saying these guys work tirelessly behind the scenes to make it possible. Without sounding condescending they deserve a standing ovation. Thank you Guys, big respect to you all. :thumbsup_anim:

PS - I didn't have to alter SecureBootModel setting, didn't have to do anything at all apart from change to the updated Lilu.kext and latest OC commit.

Spoiler

Fixes merged at:

https://github.com/acidanthera/Lilu/commit/37e93c6e1af2bb1ec214013066d0c8043b3667f3

Test results pretty much exclusively positive for Beta 3 and no regressions reported for 10.14 - 11 Beta 2.

@Slice Time for another rebase, I think. You're welcome. ;)

Updated flawlessly from beta 2. Only changes Lilu and OC updated. SecureBootModel=Default. iMac19.1 for update but iMacPro1,1 and MacPro7,1 also work. Z390 + i7-9700 + RX 6600.

Thank you OpenCore team. Great and fast job.

@aben Feel free to test whether this WEG removes profile 2 from VTSupportedProfileArray/IOGVAHEVCDecodeCapabilities properly. If not, please attach the log with liludump. Thanks!

UPDATE - Please see https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/pull/102

You can use the latest version of Lilu that we pushed today with fix for b3.

New development for Skylake users:

As tested and observed, currently (as of beta 2) it is possible to achieve iGPU acceleration on SKL with help of KBL kexts/profiles (spoofing) however this came with caveats, as expected; specifically with regards to codec(s) hw-decode support. The first noticeable issue was YouTube-playback on Safari, which was resolved by simply dropping the VP9 flag from the KBL profile, since SKL does not have VP9 hw-decode support. All credits to @dhinakg and @PMheart for their collaborative work implementing a robust patch into WEG while maintaining KBL kexts untouched as possible.

Upon further testing, it seems there is actually one more codec-related issue still lurking; this time with HEVC encoded playback  even though VideoProc/VDADecoderChecker do report "full" acceleration status (enc/dec) for HEVC codec. Those spoofing to KBL may test this out by playing a HEVC encoded video via VLC, QuickTime Player etc. you should see garbled/half green frames.

After performing a few tests over the past week, I was able to track down the problematic HEVC flag in KBL profile that causes this incompatibility with HEVC playback on SKL and managed to implement a working patch in a test branch of WEG that fixes this issue. I must admit the code implemented is not exactly perfect but it does the job as far as my testing goes; no more HEVC codec issues seen.

SKL users on Ventura may choose to test below attached WEG 1.6.1 SOLELY for testing HEVC related issues or as a temporary solution while waiting for official support from Acidanthera members. CC @PMheart

There was no problem with encoding, and Youtube was also seen.
