LSP414
I recently added Opencore Gui and Bootchime to my OC 0.5.8 on Board: Gigabyte Z170X-UD5 TH i7 6700 K Sapphire RX580 8GB Original Apple Extreme on PCi adaptor Samsung 970 %00GB After updating settings I reboot and clear NVRAM via the selection in the GUI and I get bootchime and all the correct icons in the picker using the esc key. It boots to OS and when I set the startup drive in Preferences and then reboot I lose the access to the picker and lose the bootchime. I just boots straight to my startup drive. If I reset picker to Builtin I can reset NVRAM and the same problem is repeatable. I cant figure out why it loses the settings. Ive included my config.plist config.plist Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/180/#findComment-2721356 Share on other sites

You forgot to mention rtc-blacklist, but I should remind you that it needs to be set to 58 59 for Z390-like. 5. I don't know whether you need an ACPI patch. shhbz
Hi I wonder if someone can share some idea on what's wrong on my Catalina built. Issue 1. Catalina on Opencore 0.5.8 does not restart or shutdown, it blinks the screen once and stays on the homescreen Catalina Dekstop. Issue 2. PROXITY_WAKE=1 so how to change to 0 as i did it with terminal command sudo pmset -a proximitywake 0 but on reboot it reset itself back to 1, so when I try to wake the pc from sleep using wireless mouse mx master 2s it does not wake up.the CPU turns on but not the screen. Synapsis
I wasted the whole day and still can't make OC work... I'm running a z370 / i-8700K / RX Vega 56, I wasn't using my box for a couple of months and now not matter which freaking config I use I can't get past the login screen which hangs and macOS reboots. - I added HPET/TMR/IRQ releated patches through SSDTime util - I use newest .kext builds I need the iGPU, so don't tell me why/don't. Period. I've got a ASUS Prime z370-P cheap-ass motherboard, 32GB ram, i7-i8700K and a ASROCK RX Vega gaming something flashed with 64 bios. I got my own platform/nvram settings which aren't in the config plist since I kind of like those serial numbers. What happens: Freeze on line: Quote IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0,bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0 Then it flips to the VEGA DP output and then it freezes again, gets all choppy and then freezes forever or crashes, I can look at the Catalina picture and {censored} off to it... It certainly is an issue with IGPu which I use for driving a 3rd screen, and which wasn't a problem until, well, now After reading docs im more confused then I was before - since I don't know which keys are actually proper to use and which not. For example - docs says I don't need 'shikigva=128' but without this flag it won't boot to nothing, no matter which config... Also, there is AAPL,ig-platform-id and device-id, I get it, but - is it AAPL,device-id or device-id in the key's name? Also, how can I calculate those hex values Xcode wraps the values around in .plist without Xcode? I'm running on Linux, so I vim around the config. Anyways, enough whining. Please help a fellow hackintosher - Ill spend you a beer! I'm rising my hair out and may need a aggression management therapy after today. My (newly edited) config.plist is attached. I dont believe I can't make this thing work since it worked perfectly without a hitch until, well, Catalina... f**k me to tears. SIDENOTE: I used 0.5.9 upstream sources and builded it on linux, it compiles without a hitch, but since a few commits- packages build but the binary wont load. hmm config.plist Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/180/#findComment-2721481 Share on other sites
canyondust
This might be a silly question, but I believe the people here know the answer: my firmware has errors in SSDT-5. If I fix those errors and place SSDT-5 in EFI/OC/ACPI/ and add it to my config, will it supercede the firmware SSDT-5? Thanks and cheers! Edit: documentation provides the answer. always RTFM. genzai
feature request: Can SMBIOS data be separated from config.plist (in separate smbios.plist for instance)? separating this out would make EFI much more (fully?) portable. people could post working EFI or config.plist and SMBIOS data will always be secure, persistent, and easy to add and maintain separately. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/180/#findComment-2721518 Share on other sites

Any advice? It /was/ working previously on Clover so I assume this is OpenCore quirk. Maybe kexts order? MFW I'm still struggling to get audio working on my X220. Tried alcid 3, 12, 13, 14 and 28 as the codec is allegedly compatible with CX20590 Edit: SUCCESS (albeit without CPU power management) tldr I had to fix HPET. This then caused a kernel panic saying CPU 3 doesn't have a HPET, breaking the work I'd previously done on getting CPU power management working - but after enabling the DummyPowerManagement quirk I have a booting system with audio. For whatever reason when creating HPET patch with SSDTTool I didn't put the patches into the config.plist for opencore. This was kind of annoying as at this point I didn't have Windows on the machine any more and had to produce the patch with a Linux live USB, because SSDTTool doesn't extract the DSDT on MacOS. What followed after that was hours of wrangling with bugs in SSDTTool for Linux, finding a workaround tool called FixHPET and wrangling with bugs in that too... but eventually I got my SSDT patch and config.plist patches. olmirror
After having played around with opencore for about a week I have it running on my hackintosh/10.14.6 (X99-UD4, 5820k, vega64). It took me quite some browsing in order to figure out how to enable XCPM and finally got it running, it's actually easier to set up than in clover and much better. Geekbench scores are low but with PMDrvr.kext scores are considerably higher and where they should be. (Same with clover and have no idea why.) But what I would like to ask why I get a 'Clover hw.busfrequency error detected : 17d78400' warning? Is this cosmetic as my system seems to be running stable? In clover there is a QPI setting that can be set to 100 which I can't find in Opencore. Is this related? Anyway I uploaded my Efi files and was hoping someone could either take a look or have some suggestions. Any pointers in the right direction are greatly appreciated. And I also wanted to use this opportunity to thank all the people who have made Opencore happen! Your hard work and patience in helping this community out is astounding... nmano, with your posts all over the internet I wouldn't be near to having my setup run as it does! Thanks bro... olmirror
Thanks for your input eSaF, i disabled all the ssdt's in the acpi folder, including the ssdt-pm/plug/ec and still get the exact same results. Seems like I don't need this with AppleXcpmEcxtraMsrs enabled in order for powermanagment to work properly. The other dsdt's I found on one of nmano's posts for X99 motherboards and are mainly for cosmetic reasons. So, something else must be casuing this error. But again, since everything appears to be working I wonder whether or not I should worry about it... Synapsis
Hello everyone, I don't know what I do wrong :-( I simply can't get pass the login screen freaking macOS login screen ;-/ My hardware shouldnt be the problem. I tried iMac19,1 iMac19,2 iMacPro1,1 SMBioses, Tried different -igfx flags Tried different -agpmod flags - only result is when disabled iGPU works, RX VEGA won't I can boot with both GFX/iGPU initialized, I can the mouse around screens, but they remain black, and that's it. Im getting really frustrated here :-( I run on default OC sample config, tweak accordingly to match my config as starting point. My configur - CPU: i7-8700K - GPU: Asrock RX Vega 56 8GB - MB: Asus z370-P Prime - 1 4K UHD DP connected screen - 1 HD 1080p connected screen Added HPET patches from SSDTTime and 2 line Device for the iGPU and that's it. If I set the iGPU as the first GPU - macOS initializes, the bar below logo almost completes and black screen or a totally dark catalina background and the freeze If I set the GPU as the first GPU (with iGPU driving screen) - macOS freezes right or before logging in, evertyrthings looks ok till this point BUT mouse gets choppy, and after a 30 seconds it craps totally or reboots... If I set the GPU as the only GPU (no iGPU driving screen) i freeze on the login screen... WTF??! Only half-a**sed config that works is with the iGPU and -agdpmod=none, then macOS works fine but I got only one screen and no AMD Vega. Never had problems with the GPU but now it's unusable. Please, can someone point my into right direction? Thanks in advance. But again, since everything appears to be working I wonder whether or not I should worry about it... I would not assume it is an OC problem. The fact that AppleIntelInfo.kext reports "Clover....." means it is assuming Clover set those HW bus frequency which is incorrect as it is not detecting the boot loader. It could be that it is calculating the the values incorrectly. Remember Piker Alpha did all that great work a long time ago and many CPU's and chipsets have come along since his work and he is no longer maintaining that kext. You should report the issue at the source where you got that kext and see what they suggest. rottenpants
I'm trying to boot OC on my Toshiba laptop but it doesn't even show the picker menu, it just hangs on the laptop logo with the following text: 00:000 00:000 OC: OpenCore DBG-058-2020-05-04 is loading in Optional mode (0/0)... 00:075 00:075 OC: Boot timestamp - 2020.05.09 20:51:23 00:143 00:067 OCCPU: MP services threads 4 (enabled 4) - Success 00:211 00:067 OCCPU: MP services Pkg 1 Cores 2 Threads 2 - Success 00:279 00:068 OCCPU: Found Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz 00:347 00:067 OCCPU: Signature 306D4 Stepping 4 Model 3D Family 6 Type 0 ExtModel 3 ExtFamily 0 uCode 2A 00:415 00:068 OCCPU: Detected Apple Processor Type: 07 -> 0706 00:486 00:070 OCCPU: Ratio Min 5 Max 24 Current 23 Turbo 30 29 29 29 00:555 00:068 OCCPU: Timer address is 1808 from LPC 00:723 00:168 OCCPU: CPUFrequencyFromTSC 2394455384Hz 2394MHz 00:791 00:067 OCCPU: CPUFrequency 2394455384Hz 2394MHz 00:858 00:067 OCCPU: FSBFrequency 99768974Hz 99MHz 00:927 00:068 OCCPU: Pkg 1 Cores 2 Threads 4 00:995 00:067 OC: OcLoadNvramSupport... 01:063 00:068 OC: Not deleting NVRAM 4D1EDE05-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B38C14:UIScale, matches add 01:132 00:068 OC: Not deleting NVRAM 4D1EDE05-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B38C14:DefaultBackgroundColor, matches add 01:209 00:076 OC: Deleting NVRAM 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102:rtc-blacklist - Not Found 01:277 00:068 OC: Not deleting NVRAM 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:boot-args, matches add 01:345 00:068 OC: Setting NVRAM 4D1EDE05-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B38C14:DefaultBackgroundColor - ignored, exists 01:462 00:116 OC: Setting NVRAM 4D1EDE05-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B38C14:UIScale - ignored, exists 01:550 00:088 OC: Setting NVRAM 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102:rtc-blacklist - Not Found 01:654 00:103 OC: Setting NVRAM 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:SystemAudioVolume - ignored, exists 01:731 00:076 OC: Setting NVRAM 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:boot-args - ignored, exists 01:840 00:109 OC: Setting NVRAM 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:csr-active-config - ignored, exists 01:918 00:077 OC: Setting NVRAM 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:prev-lang:kbd - ignored, exists 01:998 00:080 OC: Current version is DBG-058-2020-05-04 02:082 00:083 OC: OcLoadUefiSupport... 02:160 00:077 OCSMC: Initial key obtain failure - Not Found 02:245 00:084 OCSMC: Failed to remove key - Not Found 02:331 00:086 OCRTC: Wake log is 0x00 0xE1 162 0xF7 02:407 00:076 AIFTimerBoostInit Current timer is 549254 02:482 00:074 AIFTimerBoostInit changed period 549254 to 50000 02:562 00:080 AmiEfiKeycodeProtocol is unavailable on gST->ConsoleHandle - Unsupported 02:638 00:075 EfiSimpleTextInputExProtocol is unavailable on gST->ConsoleHandle - Unsupported 02:822 00:183 gST->ConIn D6446E00 vs found D6446E00 From what understand the problem might be in the last lines, specifically: 02:562 00:080 AmiEfiKeycodeProtocol is unavailable on gST->ConsoleHandle - Unsupported 02:638 00:075 EfiSimpleTextInputExProtocol is unavailable on gST->ConsoleHandle - Unsupported I tried using all 4 output modes (BuiltinGraphics, SystemGraphics, SystemText and SystemGeneric), I also played around with ProvideConsoleGop, ReplaceTabWithSpace and Resolution but it always shows the same errors. I also tried to boot without PMDrvr.kext (just in case) and am getting the same error message, but lower benchmark scores. I also have a separate disk with Catalina that gives me the exact same readings as in Mojave when I boot with a seperate config with the corresponding xcmp kernel patches. From where could clover still be injecting that information into my system?
