Hi,

How is monitor connected to Hackintosh via DisplayPort or HDMI ? Try connecting monitor to DisplayPort and check BIOS settings then try -- EFI folder inside >POST-INSTALL Aorus Pro Z390 EFI - RX580.zip

I try with new zip (copy and past and replace) screen plugged on RX 590 stay black after clover splashscreen.

I go to bios i change Initial Display Output  to IGFX.

a restart, with hdmi plugged on motherboard hackintosh boot after splashscreen clover, i put hdmi cable on RX590 screen work fine, i restart with hdmi plugged on rx590 i can't see clover splashscreen screen stay little bit black but hackintosh boot normally...  why with Initial Display Output on PCIe 1 Slot dont work ???

i change cable i use display port, now work on rx590 with Display Output on PCIe 1 Slot...  not possible to use HDMI on this mode ?

Hello @nelio33

I have not configured RX580 HDMI port for use, though HDMI on RX580/590 may work if you disable CSM in BIOS.

DisplayPort working when using my RX580/590,  HDMI on the Aorus Z390 motherboard is working. If using HDMI on Aorus Z390 motherboard you will need to change BIOS settings as per guide. :)

Ensure you have following BIOS setting:

If using DisplayPort on RX580 then use following BIOS setting:

BIOS setting for monitor connected to the Aorus Z390 Motherboard HDMI port:

i failed at step 8 imessage and facetime does not work for me. I redid the procedure several times.

when I type uuidgen in the terminal it changes sometimes

I have no iphone and no camera

I continue at step 9 and make some optional step, at PCI stand the processor is not recognized.

@nelio33 Check that you have EMUVariableUefi-64.efi and OsxAptoFix2Drvfree2000.efi placed inside Clover / drivers64UEFI folder when trying to activate,  can you confirm if airdrop is working ?

send me your EFI folder. Your i9 9900K is not yet fully supported by macOS Mojave 10.14.4, possible support in 10.14.5. However you can fix unknown CPU see  ABOUT MY MAC in my other >>guide

Amazing guide, I was successful with it, thank you. I just have three questions though if you could help me out...

1.) Will thunderbolt work if I put a card in soon?

2.) I didn't have a WiFi card when I did my hack so I set my machine up with ethernet, although I have no Ethernet capabilities either atm lol. Is it possible to enable wifi in the future after making my install an Ethernet only machine? Lol

3.) Can I do system updates?

Titan Ridge card is the recommended card to go with for thunderbolt. For hassle free, working WiFi/Bluetooth with iMessage's.. etc, I would recommend you go with the WiFi cards listed in the guide.  :)

Yeah I plan to eventually get the WiFi card you listed, I'm just not sure if I'll have to do a reinstall when I get it though, I don't see a way to enable wifi now lol..  I'm also wondering if I'll be able to do Mojave software updates as apple  rolls them out? Or will it break the build? Thanks for your time :)

All you need to do is install WiFi card, then boot into macOS desktop and WiFi will be working. No need to reinstall OS. If you are dual booting with Windows, the windows drivers for the WiFi card can be downloaded via bootcamp in macOS Mojave.

There is always a chance that Apple Mojave updates will break the build, use CCC5 and back up your hackintosh build, if something breaks then you can easily restore.

With CCC5 you can boot directly from your back up and quickly restore.

Great, thanks for clearing that up. For some reason my pre existing windows 10 drive got corrupted while doing this install, no idea how or why. It isn't a big deal because OS X is what i primarily want and need but i am going to try reinstalling windows 10 now for dual boot, hopefully it works. I get the message that the drive windows 10 is installed on is locked or something and can't get into windows, do you have any idea what may have happened?

Also, my cpu is an i9 9900k, I'm wondering does this hack bottleneck the potential of my cpu as it was set up for a different one or does it make no difference?

Also, my cpu is an i9 9900k, my system report reads: "Processor Speed: 3.6 GHz," I'm wondering does this hack bottleneck the potential of my cpu or is that system report just false information to convince the OS it is a real mac? Thanks ahead of time

If dual booting between macOS Mojave and Windows, I find the best approach is to have both Operating Systems installed on separate drives. When installing Windows, I physically disconnect the macOS Hard drive / SSD drive from my Hackintosh machine so that Windows does not interfere with macOS bootloader.  I then proceed with a EFI Windows install. Once the Windows install is complete, I then reconnect my macOS Mojave drive, then go into BIOS and set macOS Mojave as the main boot drive. Then when I boot machine, Clover automatically recognises both drives and I can choose Windows or Mac OS from Clover boot menu.  Possibly your Windows installation is MBR hence why you can't get into Windows from Clover menu, that is an easy fix, just convert from MBR to EFI see guide link below.

 >>guide  for dual booting Windows and Mojave ( EFI and MBR ).

i9 9900k "Processor Speed: 3.6GHz" is the normal Processor Base Frequency for that CPU and it will turbo upto 5GHz in macOS.

Best!

Okay, cool. Thank you so much for both the quick responses and creating the guide in general! God bless

This card should work just fine. I've just bought it and test with my system without any issue.

does this card allow you to duplicate the display on several screens?

Is macos optimized for this? the graphics card rx 590 install it will continue to work? or is it just an extension of UHD 630?

I have several screens, what's the point of a card like this ?

bios update is possible ? or is recommended to stay on F5,

My hackintosh is very stable on bios version F5, so I'm staying with F5 for the foreseeable future. I don't think updating to latest bios will break anything, especially if you are not using DSDT.

You can automatically unmount Untitled Windows Volume. Using Apple Script below:

tell application "Terminal"
    do shell script "d=\"/Volumes/Untitled\"; if [ -d \"$d\" ]; then diskutil eject $d; fi"
end tell

Compile and save as Application as UnmountUntitled

Then add UnmountUntitled Application to Login Items.

Then when you login to macOS the volume Untitled will automatically be unmounted.

Attached below is the created application :)

I had updated my Aorus Pro bios to F9 before finding this great guide.  No major problems running the new bios, though.  The Auto overclock feature is greyed out in bios if that matters, and a few options slightly different in bios setup, not sure what it is like in F5, mine shipped with F7.

Hello, I'm looking for some help right now.

I've installed the Sapphire Nitro RX590 SE on my Hackintosh and I can't make it work with my monitor. It's a little old one LED LG, with only a VGA port...

First I had a HDMI to VGA adapter (passive) and it just rebooted my GPU (so my PC also), both in Windows and MacOS.

Today I bought an active DVI to VGA adapter, tried in Windows and everything working just fine. But when I booted in MacOS (with @glasgood EFI folder for RX580) the OS booted, but in the minute clover finished and the Apple logo with the black background showed, everything was violet / pink color. Also the screen goes black and on in cycles, a little glitchy sometimes.

If someone knows what it could be I'ld be very happy.

Thank you all!
