@remotestation

nice to hear that the AD1988B works for you ;)

but not for me and my striker extreme 680i :(

maybe your working audio is a good help for the programmer???

@Taruga

maybe that can be helpfull for u?

i dont understand why audio with AD1988B works on some mobo´s and on some mobo´s not?

Hey!

I am having an issue on my install. I have STAC 75 0x808624c5 on my system. I donot get any sound from either the speakers for the headphone jack.

If i play a vid with sound and go to the audio applet. I can look at the Input tab and see the bars on the stereo and mono out sources move.

Any idea/help on how i can fix this. btw my machine is Gateway 7330GZ laptop or M520 mobo gateway.

Thanks a ton.

heya taruga,

any chance for some help with ALC885 ?

my audio used to work under 10.5.1 after 10.5.2 updates it got knocked out :wub:

thanks for all your efforts

EDIT: hmm upon reinstalling the codec with HDApatcher 1.20 everything kicked back in :(

Everything is working ! past times i only had the output working

Hi, Maybe this question was answered already but oh well.

I am trying to get full audio from my Acer Aspire 3680-2022.

Its supposed to have Realtek ALC883 according to the wiki.

All I get is audio from the built-in speakers.

I am a big time noob when it comes to coding and that kind of thing, so easy instructions would be nice.

My Hardware is :

Acer Aspire 3680-2022

Intel Celeron M @1.73 Ghz

1.5 Gb DDR2 RAM

120 Gb HDD

Intel 945GM Graphics

My OS is:

Mac OS X 10.5.2 (Upgraded from iATKOS v1.0i r2 with Kalyway 10.5.2 Combo Update for OSx86)

Thanks in Advance

I'll be donating a little something come payday. Luckily I get sound its just my front headphone and mic sockets that dont work, its the only thing that isnt running spot on now on my hackbook pro so I definatly want to give something back especially if it irons out that last issue :D

It's been such a long time since I dreamed of having surround sound on Leopard...

I don't think we will see that soon.

I have a P5B-E motherboard with ad1988 and 7.1 speakers and I am only using 2 of them.... :(

Maybe one day....... maybe......

Months are passing but seems to me that AD198x unlucky owners (like me) will never get the damn card working. Taruga is working alone and from what I understood is not an easy work. I offered my help (I'm a C++ programmer) but got no answer...

Of course I'm still available for helping the development of appleHDA hacks

Ok..I have found something strange in my ioreg output. See below. The codec is identifying the vendorID as CTX30 which is not the audio but the onboard conextant modem ..??

I need some help patching my ALC888 ICH7 on a Acer M5630 (mobo is EG31M)

Here is what I have already tried, all Taruga's patchers I could find and tried them all out. I have also tried Skippyard's ALC888.mpkg The cloest that I get to is with Taruga's 1.20 patcher and Skippyard's ALC888.mpkg in 3 ports, 3ports + Digital, all sound inputs and outputs show up in Sound preference. I added the dev and ven ids in HDAController and ALCinject plists The volume indicator works normally, however, no sound output, line output and Mic input. (I have not tried the S/PDIF cuz I don't have the gears to test that) When I reboot the machine, the S/PDIF red lcd lites up and I can hear a pop noise come out of the speaker, but that's it. I checked the node id's they all match the codec dump of the machine. I played with the pathmap and layout but I really don't know what I am doing on that end cuz I don't know how many layerouts and pathmaps there are. And something funny in the AppleHDAController's plist, it looks like this:

<key>HD AUDIO</key>

<dict>

<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>

<string>com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController</string>

<key>HDAConfigDefault</key>

<array>

<dict>

<key>CodecID</key>

<integer>283904136</integer>

<key>ConfigData</key>

<data>

<!-- should there be data in here? if so what might it be? -->

</data>

<key>FuncGroup</key>

<integer>1</integer>

<key>LayoutID</key>

<integer>12</integer>

</dict>

</array>

<key>IOClass</key>

<string>AppleHDAController</string>

<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>

<string>0x039310de 0x793a1002 0x437a1002 0x43831002 0x269a8086 0x26688086 0x27d88086 0x284b8086 0x293e8086 0x026c10de 0x037110d

The ConfigData key, where I put a comment, is blank. Is that what causes the problem?

Here is my codec dump:

Can anyone offer some suggestions?

Thanks.

Hey Taruga, I know you're a very busy man and I'm sure you get tons of messages on this forum but I think you would be the guy to talk to about this. I have a DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS mobo equipped with an ALC885 audio chipset. I did a linux dump myself and used v1.20 of your AppleHDA app. Sound works great, digital out, etc all works. My problem however is, when I my system wakes up from sleep I lose sound and the system quickly kernel panics if I go to click on the sound icon under sys. prefs. I ran a dmesg in terminal to see what happens and this is what I get...

0 [Time 1203105406] [Message System Sleep

System Wake

AppleYukon2 - en0 link active, 100-Mbit, full duplex, symmetric flow control enabled port 0

AppleHDADriver::setPowerState(0x69df800, 0 -> 1) timed out after 10564 ms

bash-3.2#

I'm not really sure how to fix this problem.

Also, I'm including a link to the codec dump and also the applehda that was made using your app...

Hi there, anyone can upload ALC883.dump.txt for Asus PK5R? I can't use the default dump txt to make my on board sound works. Thanks in advance.

Here it is!

I used 1.20 patcher with it, but only front speakers work, no surround...
