netkas
it's for sound over hdmi with radeon's dvi->hdmi. maibe azalia would be enough, cause it's only output we need here. but even azalia doesn't work. does mac support multiple sound cards ? Taruga
does mac support multiple sound cards ? Yes It does ! Also, I think best approach is to use AppleHDA instead of Azalia . I have much more experience with it and I think it would be easier and much likely to get positive results from it. In the next days I´ll give you something to try Netkas, I just need to study it a little.

zubi
Hey Taruga, I don't now if this is a big deal or not but when I looked at my system using the knoppix cd as per your instructions, I noticed that I have two codec's codec#0 (which I have posted earlier) and also a codec#1. Here is the cat from codec#1: Codec: Conexant ID 2bfa Address: 1 Vendor Id: 0x14f12bfa Subsystem Id: 0x17aa201b Revision Id: 0x90000 I am not sure if this will change anything but I know that my audio chipset has the Sound card and the Modem as a single item. When I installed the driver for XP it installed the Sound card and modem at the same time. In windows XP under device manager it says that my modem is a CXT and the location is "Location 65535 (internal high definition audio Bus)" Hope this helps. Audio card is an ADI 1984. Amitai Bar
Hi all, I used acl268 patch and my sound works good. Lots of thanks for this work. Besides I have a problem related to this. I have a Yukon2 ethernet card (88e8055; 0x436311ab; subsys 0763152d) When I look my leo, it says sound is 0x152d0763, intel hd audio. So, if I use audio, my ethernet cant initiate. When I remove audio kexts, ethernet works flawlessly. Is there anything I can do? I think there is a conflict between this devices.. Check you Info.plist for duplicates with both kext. Thanks and thanks for these great forums!!OK I solved my problems!!The first sound alert but no music was due to having audio switched to headphones duh!!The reboot=no sound problem was solved by someone here but I can't find the post to thank them.solution: set up a hot corner to "sleep display" immediately after booting up and before you run any apps that use sound drivers, go to your hot corner to sleep and then unsleep. Your sound will now work. Well it worked for me. Best of luck.STAC9228_0x83847616.zip Worked on my 1530, but I get no sound after reboot. Tried re-installing, permissions, no change, devices show up but no sound comes out.UPDATE: Installed AppleACPIPowerSource.kext from macgirl's guide and suddenly it worked after restarting. Then, restarted once more to verify and it was gone again.Any ideas? Clearly it works, but something seems to be re-set on boot that disables it.UPDATE: After installing the nvid kexts from the NVInstaller, again it worked on first boot then not on any after that. Is a cached version of something taking over? I got rid of as many as I could think of and still had the same result.TRY THIS ( I found elsewhere on the forum) solution: set up a hot corner to "sleep display" immediately after booting up and before you run any apps that use sound drivers, go to your hot corner to sleep and then unsleep. funkypyro
MySigmatel9200.txtTaruga, Using 1.20 and someone elses STAC9200 dump which I found on here, I have sound working through my headphones AND speakers simultaneously, and also a SPDIF digital output detected and showing up in sound properties (even though I don't have one). I don't have mute.. but setting it to the Digital Out in properties effectively acts like one! Can I edit anything in my codec dump to get it to ONLY play through the headphone jack, as I have external speakers and would rather just have them than both? Also, any way to get mute working at all? Thanks, FP
