Clover error reading driver *** FakeSMC ** i found when i use a USB to boot Clover it won't be a problem, everthing was fine, but when i use the UEFI of my HDD to boot, it will always show this error reading driver Fakesmc.. with the version 2298, i didn't have a problem like this... how should i fix it? Thanks in advance (btw, i use the FakeSMC which was builded by RehabMan)
Guest AllanMax
I'm trying to install Ubuntu, but not loads. create flash boot using Unebootin app for Mac, restart and select the flash drive menu in Clover, and I select this option. e60
So far, so good; but when I try to use my new Crucial M500 SSD with the same installation method and the same settings I used for my "normal" HDD, I'm always getting the boot0af error. Is there any difference between installing Clover on a HDD or SSD? Problem solved! I replaced the Crucial M500 with a Samsung SSD 840 Evo and now everything is fine. joe75
I'm trying to install Ubuntu, but not loads. create flash boot using Unebootin app for Mac, restart and select the flash drive menu in Clover, and I select this option. Normally you would boot directly from your unetbootin usb. My experience is unetbootin is only dependable when used from windows or linux
Joni_78
I have some problems installing Mavericks when I redid my USB flash drive with latest version of Clover (UEFI). My laptop is HP 8570p. On my BIOS I have disabled Secure Boot and set UEFI with CSM. Clover boots fine from the USB, also loads my existing Mavericks installation from HD. The problem is that when I select "Install OS X Mavericks" from Clover menu, press space, select "boot Install OS X Mavericks" it just goes back into Clover main menu. What I did was: 1. Formatted USB flash drive in OSX (1 partition, Mac OS Extended Journaled, GUID) 2. Installed Clover (v2k_r2377) on that formatted USB stick. - Install for UEFI Motherboards - Drivers64UEFI (OsxAptioFixDrv-64) 3. Added FakeSMC.kext into kexts/10.9 4. Downloaded Mavericks from App Store and copied it into that same USB flash drive like this: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Clover --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --no interaction I'm sure i'm missing something basic here but can't figure out what the problem is. apianti
You have a desktop? What is your motherboard/laptop model? Seems you either have the memory in incorrect slots or you have an old non dual channel setup, in that case set SMBIOS/Memory/Channels to 1. You're not already seeing that or any keys under SMBIOS/Memory are you?
sot_22
hi , i'm on a laptop below my avatar are the specs "x220 lenovo with i5 2520m 8gb ram", as you can see from windows screenshots in : #3302 i have dual channel , 2 slots setup
apianti
First you don't have identical memory modules, so it can't work in dual channel. Second if you had dual channel then your modules would be in slots 0 and 2 according to the spd, they are not. Perform geekbench with chameleon, with clover, then with clover and one channel. Also your SMBIOS is probably wrong not correct like you said since it says your memory is 1333 not 1600...
sot_22
have you look at the screenshots in #3302 ? please look chameleon and win screenshots and how it reports memory correctly when i mean that smbios is correct i mean that i have right type macbookpro 8,1 for my laptop and cpu , clover detects that correctly and how clover says my memory smbios is 1333 and then at system report says 1600? i know what memory i have and its obvious 1600 dual channel this is its clover bug
apianti
Nope you are incorrect, it's not clover bug, your ram controller can't be operating in dual channel if memory modules aren't populated in interleaved slots. Clover is only spitting out what it has gotten from your ram controller and original SMBIOS, that's what YOUR hardware is reporting. Windows and chameleon only appear to think that it's working correctly because your SMBIOS says that. As I said you can't have working dual channel with non identical modules, your modules require different voltages. Did you perform geek bench tests looking at memory scores? I doubt there will be much of difference...
sot_22
i'll perform the tests but first clover must work correctly and not report 3 slots , this don't have to do with my memory modules , and when i edit my config.plist <key>Memory</key><dict><key>Channels</key><integer>2</integer> <key>SlotCount</key><integer>2</integer> clover does not change the number to 2 slots in system report ... how can i expect to change the channels and do benchmarks ? it will be the same if clover does not change anything
apianti
Because the memory modules ARE NOT IN SLOTS 0 and 2!!!!!!!!! It's actually the only thing that is detecting correctly. You have the extra empty module in the second slot of the first channel because it's slot 2 which IS NOT POPULATED! Your firmware is trash and isn't properly generating SMBIOS. Set channels to one and you will no longer have empty slot. And I'm going to say it one last time, the memory controller INTERLEAVES the slots when it's working in dual channel mode meaning that with two modules installed they will be in slots 0 and 2, for single they will just count up from zero, so two modules will be in slots 0 and 1. Which mode do you think yours is working in? It's certainly NOT dual.
sot_22
ok first thank you for your time i open up my laptop and see the modules , they are the same frequency 1600Mhz, hynix 4gb 2rx8 pc3-12800s-11-11-f3 and mt16ktf51264hz-1g6m1 i'll edit my config for single channel now to see and i'll report ****** here is my SMBIOS section of config.plist , is there something wrong? cause it reports exactly the same 3 slots as before (i test it and with Trust false and nothing changed) --------------------------- <key>SMBIOS</key> <dict> <key>Trust</key> <true/> <key>SerialNumber</key> <string>*************</string> </dict> <key>Memory</key> <dict> <key>Channels</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>SlotCount</key> <integer>2</integer> </dict> <key>SystemParameters</key> <dict> <key>InjectKexts</key> <false/> <key>InjectSystemID</key> <false/> </dict> -------------------------------------
