    Vector Themes

Now I want to add vector graphics support in Clover. See rev 4560 and later. It is not working yet but designers may begin to create Vector Themes. It supposed to consist of SVG elements and has design size. It will be rendered to any screen size scaled from design size. What application in macOS can create SVG graphics? Inkscape is not working in macOS 10.11+. Pity. LibreOffice Draw works with SVG but buggy. Boxy SVG cost 10$ but looks good enough. It creates the best in simplicity files and have more then enough features. Illustrator is good but expensive. How to improve SVG file? Clover has restricted support for SVG. It is your job to make compatible file and as small as possible to speedup rendering. Some helps: Help:Inkscape – From invalid to valid SVG Inkscape files From invalid to valid SVG Adobe Illustrator files From invalid to valid SVG files of other editors: BKchem, ChemDraw and CorelDRAW Help:Illustrator – Assistance with creating and saving SVG images in Adobe Illustrator that will pass W3C validation User:Quibik/Cleaning up SVG files manually Later I will write own instructions specific to Clover abilities. How to create SVG fonts? You can google to find ready-to-use SVG fonts. I found some problems with too beaty fonts: slow rendering and overflow crash. Be careful. You can get ttf or otf fonts and convert them into svg by using online WEB services. Not a problem to google. But then I want to find a way to simplify the font to reduce a size and speedup rendering. You can create own font by FontForge It is opensource and available for Windows, Mac and GNU+Linux. It creates otf font which you can convert to svg font. Pictures from Badruzeus https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=301597

  3. Hi there, time for my first guide after asking so many things Updated for newer Clover versions and with additional instructions for more apps: gdisk and RU. So what may be overlooked sometimes in the whole boot loader discussion is the ability of UEFI to do more than just loading an OS. This is why I see ".efi" files as "apps" because in fact they just are, built on a special kind of API: UEFI. So, you can actually do stuff like editing, diagnosing, testing certain stuff at the lowest possible system level without booting to any OS. DISCLAIMER: Use this guide at your own risk! For educational purposes only! Should do not any harm, but remember you are dealing with rather low level stuff. But at least for me everything went flawless. Prerequisites: Working clover installation Clover Configurator or some app to edit the config.plist 1) Memtest This is how to install the UEFI version of Memtest with Clover: Download memtest, I used this link: Image for creating boot-able USB Drive Open the archive by double clicking on it. Mount the file memtest86-usb.img within by double clicking again. Now, you should see a folder named EFI in this volume, containing a folder BOOT. Open it. The files containing it are the actual app, in 32 and 64 bit versions. Think in almost all cases we want to use the 64 bit version. Now, mount your EFI partition, using Clover configurator. Create a folder named MemTest86 in the EFI folder on your main drive. Copy all files in the EFI/BOOT folder from the mounted image to your newly created folder. That ends the basic setup! Now, we add the correct Menu entry to the clover boot menu, so that we can actually start this app. Get into clover configurator, open your standard config.plist from your boot drive and go to the GUI section. Under "Custom Entries", add an entry like this: Please note while the path you enter is not case sensitive, you must make sure you use the backslash "\" for entering paths, and not a slash. So basically what we do is tell clover where it can find the app, give it a name, and tell clover it is a "Windows" app. Note: with older Clover versions we had to set this to "Linux", but for now "Windows" is the setting that works. If you prefer to do a manual config, add this entry to your config.plist, under GUI/Custom/Entries: <dict> <key>CustomLogo</key> <true/> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>FullTitle</key> <string>MemTest86</string> <key>Hidden</key> <false/> <key>Ignore</key> <false/> <key>Image</key> <string>\EFI\CLOVER\themes\Icons\os_mint.png</string> <key>Path</key> <string>\EFI\MemTest86\BOOTX64.efi</string> <key>Type</key> <string>Windows</string> <key>VolumeType</key> <string>Internal</string> </dict> Now, save and reboot and you should see the newly created entry. Note that I also used a custom Icon - this is optional - in case you don't you will just see a generic windows icon instead: And this is how it looks like: PS: also noticeably faster and you get also more features with this version than with the older version, for example it does now write a log file. For more Information, see: http://www.passmark.com/forum/showthread.php?4315-Memtest86-Version-5-Beta-%28Pure-UEFI%29 2) gdisk Another app you can use is the UEFI version of gdisk (aka GPT fdisk), which you can use to edit and change your partitions. Warning! Install and use this app at your own risk! If you do something wrong here you might nuke your drive(s), so only use that if you know what you are doing. This is how to do it (even easier): Download here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/files/gptfdisk/1.0.1/gdisk-binaries/gdisk-efi-1.0.1.zip/download Mount your EFI partition Unzip the file and copy the resulting folder to your EFI Folder, so your path goes like this "/Volumes/EFI/EFI/gdisk-efi" Get into clover configurator, open your standard config.plist from your boot drive and go to the GUI section. Add an entry like this: If you prefer to do a manual config, add this entry to your config.plist, under GUI/Custom/Entries: <dict> <key>CustomLogo</key> <false/> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>FullTitle</key> <string>GDisk</string> <key>Hidden</key> <false/> <key>Ignore</key> <false/> <key>Image</key> <string></string> <key>Path</key> <string>\EFI\gdisk-efi\gdisk_x64.efi</string> <key>Type</key> <string>Windows</string> <key>VolumeType</key> <string>Internal</string> </dict> When everything went OK you should see this after selecting the respective entry in Clover: 3) RU I recently found one more app that might be interesting to some, and thats "Read Universal" or in short "RU". This is a tool that enables you to debug your BIOS and read (and modify!) every imaginable data, including UEFI variables, ACPI Tables etc. Warning, again! I think blindly messing around with this app is even more dangerous, but on the other hand it gives you access to a lot of potentially interesting stuff. Download here: http://ruexe.blogspot.de/ The next steps are basically the same as above so make a folder in your EFI partition, copy the .EFI files and make another custom entry in your config.plist Here are some screens: So this is what you also can do with UEFI and clover. I am curious which other useful applications might exist! Anybody who knows, maybe post it here?

    Clover v3

Just so you all know I actually have done something. I have pushed the source to both my github and to sourceforge, please commit to the experimental branch and I will merge it into the stable branch once it is safe. Also, nothing meaningful happens yet so don't get too excited. Only the Visual studio build works right now. I haven't set up the Xcode or Makefile builds yet, I'm trying to do them now. https://github.com/apianti/Clover https://sourceforge.net/p/cloverefiboot/Clover IA32/X64/ARM/ARM64 testing ISO (6/7/2018): Clover-3.0-experimental.iso

Download High Sierra from the Apple App Store Prepare USB Flash Storage Pen Insert USB Storage Launchpad / Other → Disk Utility Choose your Flash Storage Pen from left panel Click Erase Settings: Name: USB Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Scheme: GUID Partition Map Click Erase Create macOS High Sierra Installer Launchpad / Other → Teminal Copy and Paste into Terminal: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app --volume /Volumes/USB/ Press: Enter Enter password: Type: Y Press: Enter Done! You have now created the macOS High Sierra Installer. In order to boot and install macOS onto your computer the installer requires the Clover boot loader from Clover team. The Clover boot loader contains, a configuration file ( config.plist) and kernal extensions (kexts), the config.plist and kexts are specific for each Hackintosh desktop / laptop computer build. Clover boot loader also has many other files and folders. I have already prepared a USB drive using the Clover installer and made edits to config.plist for this build, you can download and copy over my EFI Folder and skip steps in Spoiler below, then paste the downloaded EFI folder in the hidden USB EFI / ESP partition on your High Sierra USB installer drive. See the spoiler, using Clover installer to make High Sierra USB installer bootable. View the hidden macOS High Sierra Installer's EFI/ESP partition Open Terminal Copy and Paste into Terminal: diskutil list Enter Mount the USB EFI / ESP Partition onto the Desktop Again, from Terminal. Copy and Paste into Terminal: diskutil mount disk3s1 ** Identify your EFI partition from diskutil list command, in the example image above my external USB EFI is listed as disk3s, yours maybe different ** 3. Enter. The hidden EFI / ESP partition is now mounted on your desktop. Copy EFI Folder to USB EFI / ESP Partition ( Don't use the post install EFI folder at top of page, use post install EFI only after macOS High Sierra is installed ) 1. Download the PRE INSTALL EFI Folder here >> EFI.zip 2. Drag & Drop or Copy & Paste downloaded EFI folder into the mounted USB EFI / ESP partition. The bootable USB installer for macOS High Sierra is ready to use! INSTALL macOS HIGH SIERRA Insert the macOS High Sierra USB Installer into computer USB port. Start PC and immediately press keyboard F8. From Asus Boot Menu, choose your USB thumb drive. 4. Clover boot menu 5. Choose - Boot OS X install from Install macOS High Sierra.. Later in the guide, I will explain how to remove the extra entries on the boot menu, so you would have just High Sierra Icon and / or Windows. The extra entries are removed in config.plist in the uploaded EFI / Clover folder that I have provided. 6. Wait few mins! 7. Choose Languge 8. Select Disk Utility 9. From Disk Utility Menu --> View / Show All Devices 10. If Samsung 960 EVO drive is not visible in Disk Utility, follow these steps inside spoiler below. 11. Erase, disk. Give Name / Format: Mac OS Extended ( Journaled) / Scheme: GUID Partition Map 12. Partition, Format: APFS and apply 13. From macOS Utilities screen select Install macOS 14. Continue 15. Agree 16. Select Drive Macintosh or whatever you named it. 17. macOS is now installing 18. Wait... 19. Success ! POST INSTALLATION So far, you are using the macOS High Sierra USB installer to boot High Sierra. The USB installer EFI /ESP partition contains the downloaded EFI / Clover folder allowing you to boot to High Sierra desktop. So at this moment you can only boot High Sierra with the help of Clover on the USB installers hidden EFI / ESP partition. Next, steps is to make High Sierra boot without the need of the USB installer. Copy POST EFI folder to your High Sierra EFI / ESP Partition on your drive When you created the USB High Sierra installer, you mounted the EFI / ESP partition and copied over the EFI folder that I provided for the Asus Z370-G. Next, mount the hidden EFI/ESP partition on your High Sierra system drive. Then copy the >> or POST EFI folder to your macOS High Sierra system drive . To do this, follow steps below. 1. Identify discs to Mount with Terminal command: diskutil list ** Your disk IDENTIFIER may be different, the images are examples from my system ** 2. Terminal command below to Mount macOS EFI/ESP partition: diskutil mount disk0s1 3. System drive, EFI / ESP partition is mounted on desktop 4. Drag & Drop OR Copy & Paste EFI / ESP folder from EFI - POST-INSTALL over to EFI / ESP drive partition: 5. Done! You can now boot and use macOS High Sierra on your computer without the need for the USB device Mostly everything should now be working if you used the same hardware that I listed in parts. In the rest of this guide will explain some basic troubleshooting steps, how install NVIDIA web drivers, how sound was installed.. etc. STEPS TO EDIT CLOVER CONFIG.PLIST 1. You need to mount the EFI / ESP partition to edit the Clover config.plist. Previously, the guide used teminal commands diskutil list and diskutil mount to mount hidden EFI/ESP partitions. This guide will now use an app to mount the EFI / ESP partition. Download @Micky1979 >>ESP Mounter Pro on InsanelyMac and use it to mount the EFI / ESP partitions so that you can view, make edits to config.plist, add extra kexts if needed etc. A quick peak at the EFI / Clover contents, highlighting most common files and folders. 2. Download >> Clover Configurator from mackie100, it is used to edit and make changes to config.plist. Open mounted EFI partition, navigate to EFI / Clover, make a copy of config.plist and rename it config.BAK. Then drag and drop conf.plist onto desktop. Make changes, save and drag & drop back inside EFI partition. Clover Configurator default screen, always save before quitting Clover Configurator! Some people will be very familiar with how to find and configure config.plist, I'm listing this guide with extra steps for those new to Hackintosh. BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING TIP You might make changes to config.plist with Clover Configurator or add kexts and then discover that you can no longer reach High Sierra desktop or boot. The USB installer can be used to boot your Hackintosh ( I mentioned it was a handy troubleshooting tool ). The USB installers Clover boot loader can boot your computer to the High Sierra desktop. You can then mount the EFI/ESP partition and undo config.plist edits or delete last added kexts that have prevented you from booting to your High Sierra Desktop or just replace the whole EFI folder on your computer with the EFI folder from the USB installer. If the above troubleshooting was unsuccessful and you still can't boot your Hackintosh. From the Clover boot screen, enter Clover options: Select Boot macOS from Macintosh Then press spacebar Check: Verobse (-v) Return Enter The Verbose (-v) option will point to where in the startup process your Hackintosh stops, it's also worth checking BIOS settings before starting any troubleshooting. You can then search in the InsaneleyMac forums for a solution, or ask other members. HOW TO DISABLE / ENABLE SIP Sometimes when troubleshooting or installing kexts, you may have to disable Apple System Integrity Protection ( SIP ). To disable or enable SIP, mount the EFI / ESP partiton using ESP Mounter Pro or Terminal then edit config.plist with the Clover Configurator. Example: Disable SIP in Clover Configurator: Rt Variables / CsrActiveConfig --> Enter: 0x67 Partially disable: Rt Variables / CsrActiveConfig --> Enter: 0x3 ( Clover Default ) Enable: Rt Variables / CsrActiveConfig --> Enter: 0x0 TIDY CLOVER BOOT SCREEN Clover adds extra MacOS and Windows entries on the Clover boot menu. Below is what my Clover menu initially looked like after installing Mac OS High Sierra and adding a Windows drive to my build. The High Sierra Clover theme is from >> hirakujira I wanted the Clover boot menu to just show Mac OS High Sierra and Windows. Remove extra entries using Clover Configurator Add the Preboot string to config.plist ( Removes Apple Preboot entries ) Add theRecovery string to config.plist ( Removes the Mac OS High Sierra recovery option ) Set Scan / Legacy checkbox to false in config.plist ( Removes the extra Windows entries ) After applying the settings in Clover Configurator, save and reboot. Minimalist Clover boot screen. MULTIBOOT WITH WINDOWS Temporarily disconnect / remove your High Sierra Drive from your Hackintosh Computer. Install a 2nd drive inside the computer then install Windows on it. Reattach your High Sierra Drive. Clover will detect your Windows and High Sierra drive when you start your computer. I already had Windows 10 as an EFI install on a Samsung 500GB EVO SSD on another computer. After completing my Hackintosh I then simply attached the Samsung EVO SSD into the new built Hackintosh. Upon rebooting it was detected by Clover. So I have two drives, Windows on the Samsung EVO and High Sierra on the NVMe Samsung EVO 960. NVIDIA / WEB DRIVERS *** There is many Nvidia Web Drivers for different builds / updates of macOS High Sierra *** Some times you may have to reinstall or update your Nvidia web drivers after a macOS update. To install the proper Nvidia Web driver ( for GTX10 Series ), collect the following information from your macOS High Sierra installation. You can find this information in "About This Mac" and clicking on the System Report button. In the lefthand window, click on Software. macOS High Sierra Version Number macOS High Sierra Build Number Using this >> Nvidia Web Drivers Link. identify your build number and download WebDriver As an example, I have build number 17C88 and I downloaded WebDriver-378. Configure Nvidia Web driver in config.plist using Clover Configurator Mount EFI partition and drag and drop config.plist onto desktop and open with Clover Configurator. Enable the following in config.plist: 1. System Parameters / NvidiaWeb = True ( tick ) 2. Graphics / ig-platform-id = 0x59120003 ( Intel & Nvidia ) 3. Graphics / Inject Intel = True ( tick ) Save config.plist and drag and drop back into the EFI partition. Continuing to use the port limit patch can cause problems as it causes access outside a fixed array bounds. Access outside a fixed array bound can result in other memory locations being overwritten, those other memory locations will contain data that you don't won't overwritten!. So the port limit patch is not recommended for long term use. Ports limit patch is good for macOS USB installer purpose. Ports limit patch is disabled in my POST INSTALL EFI folder. Below is the USB ports limit patch shown in clover configurator: FIX Note, external 2x USB2 ports HS09 and HS10 are deliberately disabled to get port count below 15. If you have a different motherboard you can use IORegistryExplorer for port discovery and eliminate some ports to get below the 15 port limit. You can create an SSDT for port limit to use with USBInjectAll.kext. Or, If you are not keen on creating the SSDT file, then you can use "uia_exclude=" boot flag in config.plist and have USBInjectAll.kext exclude those ports. Rehabman has a great guide on port discovery & SSDT. >>Creating a Custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext When you know what ports you want to eliminate, then you would set custom boot flags using "uia_exclude=" in config.plist. USBInjectAll.kext would then ignore those ports listed by "uia_exclude=" boot flag. Example: using "uia_exclude=" boot flag to keep USB port below 15 uia_exclude=HS07;HS08;HS09;HS10;HS11;HS13;HS14;SS07;SS08;SS09;SS10 If you have Asus Z370-G as per this guide then don't use custom boot flags as it's already done with SSDT-UIAC.aml Disable Ports Limit Patch: SSDT-UIAC.aml ( USB PORTS FIX ) My ABWB 802.11AC WI-FI with Bluetooth card is installed in motherboard slot: PCIE_X1_2 the ABWB 802.11AC WI-FI with Bluetooth card USB cable is attached on internal USB1112 header (HS12) on the motherboard. If you have a Wifi card with Bluetooth in a different PCIE slot then remove SSDT-UIAC.aml from EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/PATCHED and download SSDT-UIAC-ALL.dsl and change HS12 for appropriate port and save SSDT-UIAC-ALL.dsl as ACPI Machine Language Binary and place file in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/PATCHED. IMESSAGES This worked for me on my first attempt, I suggest using an Apple WiFi card for hassle free iMessages etc... I'm using an original >> Apple BCM943602CS WIFI+bluetooth module and adapter, this has native support in macOS High Sierra and needs no kexts / drivers. It works out of the box! If you can't get a hold of this card used in this build, then try sourcing a PCIe adapter and fitting an iMac WiFi card to it. Purchase adapter on >> Ebay or Amazon Apple iMac WiFi card, part Number >> 607-8967 Or use a MacBook Air WiFi card & adapter, it would directly replace the Asus Wifi card and free up PCIe slots. Configure iMessages with the Clover Configurator SMBIOS / Generate New SMBIOS Profile for iMac 18,3 Check >> Serial number generated is not in use!" 3. System Parameters / Custom UUID ( Generate New ) 4. Rt Variables / ROM ( Generate from SMBIOS or System ) Windows drivers for Apple WiFi and Bluetooth devices. If you are dual booting with Windows and you are using an Apple WiFi / Bluetooth card like the one suggested above. Then chances are you won't have Windows drivers. The drivers can be obtained by downloading Windows support from Bootcamp. Launchpad / Other ---> Bootcamp Assistant. ABOUT MY MAC "About my Mac" will show CPU as unknown. [REQUEST] HP 250 g6 EFI and DSDT

  8. Here is a new utility to patch the EFI firmware in VMware Workstation and Fusion to allow the non-server versions of Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to run. Yoiu will need macOS unlocker 3 if you are using Workstation on non-Apple hardware. I still have to find a way to do this on ESXi as the UEFIPatch utility will not run in the ESXi console. This currently supports: Workstation 11/12/14/15 on Windows and Linux Workstation Player 7/12/14/15 on Windows and Linux Fusion 10/11 on macOS https://github.com/DrDonk/efi-unlocker/releases/download/1.0.0/efi-unlocker100.zip https://github.com/DrDonk/efi-unlocker Please read the readme.txt file for details. readme.txt

Saludos

QuickESP is a minimalistic and discreet ESP/EFI Mounter application. It's simple! Click to mount, and re-click to unmount. The Preferences pane enables you to configure the following: Enable Advanced View. Shows additional information about all discovered ESP volumes. This is helpful when you have multiple SSD/HDD installed on your system. Also you will be able to distinguish between drives with identical names. Open ESP folder on Finder. After mounting an ESP volume, its respective folder will open on Finder. This is a convenient time-saver. Autostart. Automatically launch the application on login. Make sure you have copied QuickESP.app into your /Applications folder. Credits: Dennis Koluris (a.k.a Denicio), Rick Patrick for the HDRV icon.
  11. Hello everyone, I've finally managed to install Windows 10 in the same HDD as macOS Sierra, the problem is that my laptop boots directly into Windows, it won't let me go to clover. However, if I boot from my installation usb i can boot into clover and choose Windows or Sierra. I have already tried to reinstall Clover but it will keep booting into Windows. I have also tried to rename bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi and copy the clover efi into the Windows efi folder and renaming as bootmgfw.efi. It will only work until I boot Windows, next time it will boot into Windows directly again. Please help

    EFI for Sapphire Radeon HD5450

Hi, Im trying to get my Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 to work in my Mac Pro 3.1. I found this thread and I tried flashing the bios onto my card with no luck. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/311454-efi-bios-for-sapphire-hd5450/ Im getting an error about the ROM chip not being big enough, is there a smaller ROM I can flash? I also have a Dell Radeon HD 5450, which i think has a bigger chip as it shows up with the same chip as my 6950 in ATIWinFlash (the 6950 uses 128kb roms). Does anyone have the efi files for the 5450, I think I can integrate them into the ROM myself. EDIT: I tried using this to update the rom files of both the dell and the sapphire: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299614-asus-eah6450-video-bios-uefi-gop-upgrade-and-gop-uefi-binary-in-efi-for-many-ati-cards/ Im still getting the same error:

I use Makbook Pro 11,1 2013 late info. ================================ ISSUES : ================================ 1) Different Mac OS behaviour at boot time and work time with the BIOS option CSM=enabled/CSM=disabled: For example, - when CSM=disabled Mac OS boots normally with Built-on LCD + DP/HDMI plugged monitor (both monitors work well during boot and after boot), but I can't unplug built-on LCD and plug it again, glitches appears on built-on LCD, helps only reboot; - when CSM=enabled Mac OS boots only with one plugged monitor(only built-on LCD or only DP/HDMI monitor), the second monitor can be plugged after OS fully loaded and both monitors work well. And I can plug and unplug built-on LCD at any time, it works well without glitches. 2) CPU turboboost only to 2,3Ghz although it should be up to 2.6Ghz; 3) USB ports work incorrect after sleep mode (usb-flashs shout be replugged); 4) The built-in notebook microphone stops working when I insert the headphones with a built-in microphone (Both microphones don't work. OS X recognizes headphone's microphone as line-in). 5) I can't get to work AppleBlackLight.kext (There isn't brightness slider in SysPref -> monitor panel); 6) There isn't "Touchpad panel" in SysPref when I use ApplePS2SmartTouchpad.kext (I can't use VoodooPS2Controller.kext as touchpad has mad cursor motion with it), but SysPref -> Touchpad panel appears with it. - Use AsusNBFnKeys.kext (It makes all Fn keys working - enable/disable touchpad, enable/disable bluetooth, switch to Android tablet and other) carefully because some issues appear with brightness control. For the present moment I don't use the AsusNBFnKeys.kext. Clover doesn’t see any ext4 Volumes in Hard drive (Done, copy VBoxExt4-64.efi in /CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/). ================================ Links: ================================ Bios 216 - https://www.asus.com/ru/support/Download/3/587/0/1/afd86D69CMWsUhle/32/; Create Clover USB OS X installer with BootDiskUtility.exe - https://applelife.ru/threads/mac-osx-i-clover-iz-windows-izgotovlenie-zagruzochnoj-flehshki.37189/; Clover install options - https://ddr5.ru/ustanovka-i-nastroyka-zagruzchika-clover-na/; Guide: MultiBooting UEFI. Hi everyone, I've another problem, now all work but I've a problem with Clover, I can't make it works, I've formatted the EFI partition in FAT32 and installed Clover in the EFI partition, I marked the partition as active and when I boot it up I get this. 15. Hello people from OSx86 I have this computer wich have Windows 8.1 installed on it, and I want to dual boot with OS X Mavericks, here is the specs: Intel Core i5 2400 MB Asus P8H67 8GB RAM 320 HDD 1TB HDD GeForce GTX 460 SC 1GB I've been looking around YouTube, Google and many other places for tutorials for dual booting those operating systems, but all of them say that I must install first the OS X, then Windows on it. But I have a lot of files and settings on my Windows partition, and I don't want to lose them. Is there a way to install OS X on my PC without formatting my Windows?
  16. Hi Everyone, Hoping someone can help me, so i managed to update from sierra to high sierra on my hackintosh however, after the update installed my usb ports do not work so neither do my keyboard or mouse, now i know this is because i did not place the usb kext file into the efi clover folder, is there anyway to do this through the initial clover bootloader screen? or do i have to reinstall sierra again and go through the whole process, reason i dont want to do this is because i would have format the ssd and i did not back up some files which i dont want to lose, if any one can give me some advise please, id really appreciate it. Thanks.
  17. So I'm *sure* something change, little just breaks because it feels like it one day. System: OSX 10.10.1 Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H i7 Ivy Bridge 32GB Ram MSI GeForce 780GTX Something-er-other Using nvidia web driver .02f01 Was running Clover from an EFI partition with minimal things installed, was happy as a clam. I believe I was on 2957-2976 (something in there, is there a way to check? I still have a backup of the old EFI partition). Known changes: * I had recently changed out my mouse drivers (switched from steermouse to Logitech's drivers) * Tried ##### 7.1.1 update to try and get my ALC898 working + trim (don't really need the ALC, I have a USB DAC I use instead) ** This installed ALC, AppleHDA, and the Trim Patch. I already had the latest FakeSMC installed in Clover KEXT area so didn't have it install to SLE Upon reboot I started to get: OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for \System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi efiboot loaded from device: Acpi(PNP....) boot file path: \System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi ..Loading kernel cache file 'System\Library\Caches\com.apple.kext.caches\Startup\kernelcache'... ................................root device uuid is '46628BD0-8319-3784-8A7E-FE7BD5EB11B0' OsxAptipFixDrv: Error - requested memory exceeds our allocated relocation block Requested mem: 42E8000 - 975FFFF, Pages: 5478, Size 5478000 Reloc block: 9F8FF000 - A8D75FFF, Pages: 9477, Size: 9477000 Reloc block can handle mem requests: 0 - 9476FFF Exiting in 30 secs... Error allocating 0x5478 pages at 0x000000000042e8000 Couldn't allocate runtime area (This is a snippet from someone else's error report though mine looks almost identical). I tried most of the following: * nvda_drv=0, slide=0 and other combinations of boot flags * Removing nvidia driver * aptio 2 test 3 After doing a few things I threw in an old installation of OSX so I could properly install the newest clover (at the time of writing r3050) to the EFI partition. After doing this and booting with a variety of options I finally got the system to start from the EFI partition without having to use any other USB loaders. -f -v slide=0 dart=0 nvda_drv=1 kext-dev-mode=1 Upon first boot I didn't have the nvidia drivers installed, I installed them, restarted smoothly and things were working. I installed the logitech mouse drivers again and it asked for a reboot, upon reboot I started to get the same errors as above again. Changing / tuning the fields doesn't work. Things that don't work / work: * DOESN'T: Booting clover from a USB selecting my partition (don't have FakeSMC on the usb so I'm not surprised this doesn't work, gets stood up by DSMOS) * WORKS: Using a USB Chameleon loader and booting my OSX partition.. I'm at a complete loss as to what to try / do / diagnose to discover what I might be missing about my Clover configuration that will help me return to the way it was. Other notes: My clover install USB disk always boots successfully which is running r3050 in MBR method. I have considered switching back from EFI to MBR I'm just not sure if I have to do anything other than rerun the installer and move the /Vol/EFI/EFI folder out of the way.. tips?
  18. Hello I have an (almost) perfectly hacked Asus 1001HA with 10.6.8, the only problem is, that App Store doesn't work. An unexpected error occurs when I try to log in. In IORegistryexplorer, I can see, that my ethernet is not detected as built-in, even though I tried Chameleon's ethernet built-in option. I also tried to generate an efi string for my ethernet card with EFI Studio 1.1, but I already had a device-properties string in c.a.b.plist and I do not what it is for, but if i remove it, or substitute it with the string from EFI Studio, the system will hang on white screen after the spinning wheels does its job. Oh, and I used NBI to install chameleon. Should I somehow combine these two strings? I would be very grateful for any help. I've attached the efi string I have in device-properties. efi.rtf
  19. Hi guys! Picked myself up a new laptop, specifically an Acer Aspire 5560-sb613. Here are my specs: Amd A8-3500m Radeon HD 6620G Amd A60M FCH 4gb RAM 500gb 5400rpm SATA HD Synaptics Touchpad Broadcom 43xx WIFI (I think? Not sure on that one..) The BIOS has built in, really crappy EFI. That's one of my concerns, and I don't want my motherboard EFI to get messed up by OSX. So, does anyone know what method to use/what KEXTs to use, etc? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

    apfs.efi latest 05.10.2017

    Version 748.1.47

EFI drivers for Clover to boot APFS partitions. The drivers apfs.efi are from official Installers (can be located through Show Package Contents) 621. High Sierra Public Beta (don't remember which version though) 748.1.46 High Sierra release (26 Sept 2017) 748.1.47 High Sierra security update (Oct 05 2017) Files are originally named apfs.efi, I put the version number before .efi for convince.
  21. Salve a tutti ragazzi!

MB : ASUS MAXIMUS VI FORMULA RAM : kingston HyperX BEAST 2x8 16GB kit HDD : lots of stuff but i am using a western digital 500GB caviar green drive for testing , will be upgrading to intel series 320 160 GB SSD GPU : ASUS Nvidia GTX 650 TI BOOST OC (I know that this gnu is irrelevant with the rest of the specs this is my old gpu) SPU : the internal ALC1150 for now. 24. In my BIOS machine laptop, I have noticed that the system is much slower when booting in EFI mode through clover. I have installed Windows 10 in EFI mode on a GPT formatted drive, this also means I cannot boot in Legacy mode (though I'm sure there is a way), but that doesn't matter, I just want to know why this is happening and ways to fix it. After system has booted and done all post-boot procedures, I notice in task manger that System process is using up the entire disk bandwidth, the drive almost never stops reading and/or writing or seeking or whatever the System task is doing. Sometimes after a really long time after booting, the drive will calm down to little activity, but once I wake the screen (not system sleep just display sleep), the hard disk goes nuts and System task does its work. Its rather annoying and I would like to know how to fix this or at least lower it to a reasonable level. Most tasks will perform very well but when its a task that takes heavy disk usage (gaming [untested], software installs, etc.) will perform hardly at all. I have also noticed that my available RAM is not all of it. I have 4 GB of RAM in the laptop and windows only sees 3.96 GB, and it does not say (amount) usable, it just shows 3.96 as my final amount, changing MSCONFIG settings to use all 4096 MB causes ABSOLUTE slowdown that it would take me 30 minutes to boot and 20 to log in! So I have no idea why this RAM thing is happening but removing the RAM preferences from MSCONFIG allowed the system to run normally (3.96 of system RAM to windows). The RAM is not much of a bother but I would like to fix the system issue. Please share any thoughts. If this is in the wrong category or place, I do apologize, I couldn't find a category that best fit other than this one.
  25. Hello, these are 3 issues ive had on my 4790k clover build, since day one, and through many OSs, and I have never found a solution to any of them. Here are the issues: 1) My Ram has always shown as under-clocked. I have 1866 speed Ram, but it has ALWAYS shown as 1777 speed in the Mac install (ive been through yosemite, cap, and now sierra, have updated clover every now and then etc, same issue). The bios and the windows install both see correct speed. 2) Bios sees the Mac install as several duplicated devices (ie, if I go to bios to choose boot device, or i press f8 on boot for boot menu, it shows "mac os 256gb ssd etc" like 10 times in the list. Eventually, the list grows to a point where it will no longer boot until I clear CMOS and get it back down to being listed once, about every other month. 3) Shutdown speed has always been extremely slow. I have an SSD, and even when the install is clean and new, this issue exists. It takes about 45 seconds or more to shutdown (bootup is still fast, about 10 seconds). This is very annoying, it should take about 3 seconds to shutdown. Please help me with these, guys. Thanks My hardware is: 4790k CPU, Asus z97 Pro Wifi AC mobo, 16gb of 1866 ram, samsung SSD, 980ti, using clover on uefi
