Subsytem ID is ending in CD, so maybe the problem is not connected with it.

 

got version 1.1.0 from a backup folder, probably from one of the installs or updates. Interestingly I loose my keyboard when I use this version. I remember that there are PS2 issues with certain kexts and that the laptop keyboard acts as a PS2. I plugged my external keyboard in and reversed back to v 1.0.3. Works fine now. Is there a way to get 1.1.0 to work on the 6400?

Any advice as to what osx would give me the best start? (Kalyway 10.5.2??) I know they are working on the 3945abg to get it working but I need some Idea where to start.

I realize this is a long thread, but it's all here. buy a Dell wireless on ebay for cheap and you have everything working except maybe both cores and/or sleep. Kalyway 10.5.2 is a good choice. I never had problems with it.

Just one more think about both core support. I've tried this evening to use the stock AppleACPIPlatform, then after reboot my system wont works with both cores enabled.

Even replacing my old AppleACPIPlatform, i can just boot with cpus=1. So, issue is defenetly connected with this kext, and it appears that only AppleACPIPlatform installed from kalyway's DVD alow dual core.

hmm, so the v1.1.0 I tried was probably stock and I should try the one from kalyway dvd. will check this later. thanks for the hint. I thought this kext was stock and only stock. Getting all confused after some time and forget things like this.

That is what I used (Kalyway 10.5.2).

I replaced my 3945 with a 1490 from ebay :)

Yes, but the very weird thing is even if i reinstall the good one, system won't boot with BC. I tried to clean kernel, extensions and various system caches but issue persist. I would like to understand why and how to get it again without resintall the whole system.

 

EDIT: Ok, works again after complete cleaning process with ONYX.

I attach here my AppleACPIPlatform.kext for those who want to try it.

After installing, use ONYX then Clean/rebuild/repair... everything you can :hysterical:

Hi folks, yesterday the new 10.5.4 cat was launched and again I managed to install it respecting the method used for 10.5.2 and 10.5.3 (see some posts above).

All parts are working (except 3in1 card reader) and scores reported by XBench 103 or GeekBench 1860 by using only one core (settings to start in com.apple.Boot.plist) are good, the speed is fine.

Again I attached a screen capture to prove it.

Wonderful job from developers of Leo4All v3, thank you guys. ;)

Strange - this kext causes a kernel panic at boot for me (and yes, I've deleted AppleEFIRuntime). I recall the same thing happened with the kext on the Kalyway DVD. I mucked about with my own (picking and choosing from the stock and various other sources) that seems to work for me, but booting both cores is as haphazard as always. Anyway, I'm going to attach it in the off-chance that it fixes the headphones issue, though I suspect the cause lies elsewhere. I promise to test this a bit more when I get the time, but right now I'm starved for it - and I promise that muting does work on my machine, so it must be possible on others.

This is the one from Kalyway DVD (with some ajustments). Witch distrib do you use?

I will try yours tomorrow (it's late), and if you want, i can test your others kext for sound, to see if speakers work. Just Pm me Links, i'll give you reports.

I've just tested an alternate AppleACPIPlatform.kext and speaker muting still works, so it's not related. Will keep digging. If anyone is willing to test and has MSN, it'd be a lot easier to do over there rather than uploading the kexts to an FTP site.

And I found that my cpu is running without speedstep and gets fairly hot..

 

Pretty much everything is working except this..

 

So I did some research on it and I thought it is impossible to enable speedstep with vanilla kerner

 

but I saw auqs10's got his speedstep worked with vanilla kernel

 

Does anyone know how to enable speedstep with vanilla kernel?

 

 

My laptop is E1705 with Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0Ghz

Just updated to 10.5.4. Everything runs fine, except that I cannot get my external monitor to work anymore. I plug it in and it tries to switch but leaves the main laptop display black with the menus on the laptop display (cause there is nothing on the external). When I boot without external display, everything seems fine until I hit detect displays. then my laptop main display goes black, apparently to sleep. I can wake it up with sleep/wake to active corner function.

 

anybody else has this problem? Is this fixable? I may try the gma950 kexts from 10.5.3, otherwise I will go entirely back to 10.5.3

There is no way to do this because AFAIK there needs to be specific code in the kernel to enable speedstep. Sorry.

There is no way to do this because AFAIK there needs to be specific code in the kernel to enable speedstep. Sorry.

Speedstep kernel alone won't enable it, you need ACPICPUThrottle.kext and Speedstep.app also.

But it did not work for me

 

I think I did something wrong

 

Ok.. this is what I did

 

1. Updated to 10.5.3 w/ vanilla 9.3 kernel (Kalyway combo)

2. Installed 2 kexts that u posted by using kexthelper and rebooted

3. Downloaded Coolbook 2.9 and ran..

4. All I could see were temp of the cpu and clock when I ran it and nothing was activated.

 

Plz correct me.. and again thanks

 

*EDIT : Im so retarded lol... I thought this was freeware so I did not buy it that's why everything was inactivated

I bought it and it works perfectly!!! Thanks a lot!!
