XxX_x86_10.5.6_Install_Disc_Universal_Final.v2

I installed the package from Andy (9.6.0) so seatbelt and system kext should not be a problem.

 

In my previous install, I used natit I think, not as simple as EFI string as in this XxX installer. I'm not sure if it's replaceable. Should I try to apply a patch (nvidia patch) instead of using the EFI string method because it's pretty obvious that the graphic card is causing the problem here.

 

Did you try GFX kext from a previous working version? IMO, EFI strings work the best. I would like to hear what works for you as well.

I've tested reparing permissions on a fresh install (none updates installed whatsoever) a coupe of times and theres no problems. It should be something you've done/installed (?)... You can try fixing permissions from the installer disk (Menu Bar/Utilities/Disk Utility).

I tried fixing permissions from the installer disc, tried diskwarrior (Osx86 patched version), even reapplied Combo 10.5.6

It still works though, but do you have any clue how things got messed up?

 

btw: I do have the default NullCPUPowermanagement.kext in my Extensions folder + Disabler.kext (installed a custom one with added AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext to block /fixes mouselag with Quicktime 7.6), but only Disabler.kext is shown in System Profiler + there is still the AppleCPUPowermanagement.kext listed (AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext is gone).

If you have the REV1 you can update only up to PPF1. After that you need a new ISO.

Just download the new version (it has every patch integrated): 'XxX_x86_10.5.6_Install_Disc_Universal_Final.v2' from "the green demon" (Make sure you get the 'FINAL.V2' version), the old ISO is kind of crappy; besides, any future PPF will be done over this new ISO. I will change the first post 'cos is confusing.

 

 

Hmmm, I Cant seem to find the file to download....can you help? I have tried all latest distros and none of em want to work on my box so I am looking forward to trying yours

My experience using this distro and my HP DC7700 test machine. This is a standard machine with 4 gigs of ram, Geforce 8500GT/512 and an 80gig drive sata drive and sata DVD and current bios version.

Install like normal and create partition, these are the options I used

- SMBIOSResolver

- ICHx Chipset Support

- NVdarwin 512MB

- AppleAzaliaAudio

- IOSUBfamily Plugins = without this, no usb keyboard or mouse.

 

With this distro the machine works just like my real Mac, fast too. with iDeneb I had no usb keyboard or mouse after install.

this release doesn't detect my ide hdd , my sata2 hdd , and my ide/ata dvd drive.I can't see where to install there is nothing on disk utility. i have via pt 880 pro chipset.

same problem happened with me also,than i plotted a jumper on my IDE HDD and it got detected........but that time my IDE DVD drive was deceted normally..........try to put jumper in the mid of the DVD drive...........

I guess it has to be the vanilla kernel all was the same as before. I'll fool with smbios anyways as well. I just don't want to deal with removing cpu checks whenever installing software. Thanks Naunaud

Extensions.mkext_mcp67_c.zip is not working on the new iso XxX_x86_10.5.6_Install_Disc_Universal_Final.v2. It could be great if u can make a new mkext file with MCP67 support just like the Extensions.mkext_mcp67_c.zip for the newer iso.

and i have some trouble on boot with this distro. my mac os wont boot without DVD installer.

if i pull out the DVD, then the system could not find any boot disk. i had install cameleon and its not work neither.

Just giving this one a go....

 

I DE-selected the boot options ie insert 10sec and -v and left the hard stop wait for enter unticked but upon installation its exactly what happens just sits there and waits for enter......

 

How can we get back to straight startup like previous ver1 final?????

First thank you very much for the new release,cant wait to try it in hp dv6704 again

 

I have to say that the last one didnt work for me,after boot into install screen,it couldnt recognize the internal hard drive in disk utility.So i was stuck in the first step.anyway,I grabbed this new release and tried it again,the same problem occurred.

 

I was told that there's no support for this laptop's chipset,that's why I have that problem.

 

But i checked the options list and found there IS MCP67M support and also nforce patch?

 

so I am lost.........

 

 

 

Anyway,I tried to install the system from my own hp dv6025us(ur last version works great for me ). I made the invisible items shown and install the whole system and patches one by one manually to an external hard drive.(cos while install the system under a working mac os,it'll fail when comes to patches,dont know why)I chose the base system,voodo kernel,and mcp 67 for chipset support,no video card support checked. Then I make HP dv6704 boot from the hard drive(I typed -f -v to see where it might stuck).This time,it went pretty smoothly into the system with no full resolution,only1024*768.I was so glad cos that's a major progress.

 

However,after i went into disk utility again,i found that it only recognize my external hard drive,no INTERNAL HARD DRIVE is recognized,so I was not able to use superduper! to copy the system into the internal hard drive to make it work,which was my plan.

 

Then i tried to install driver for video card Nvidia Geforce 7150M, I chosed inject 512m and reboot. It crashed the system and I couldnt even go into safe mode.

 

So anyone with the same specification please do a little favor here,will appreciate it very much.

Do you know how to find the kext files on the installation disc? The reason I ask is I need a few kext that are originally installed for networking. When I view the installation disc in .iso format on windows I can see everything on the image but I cannot find the the extensions folder anywhere on it. Any help?

Install works great, though still working on fixing powermanangement (sleep/laptop battery menu/etc). Most of the powermanagement fixes on the DVD seem to be from superhai, so I went to their site, and everything is "voodooXYZ". I assumed they were the updated kexts, so I downloaded and used those (VoodooPower,VoodooBattery,VoodooUSBEHCI).

 

Now I'm getting frequent Finder crashes with Segmentation Fault. Maybe it's a DSDT thing? I wasn't sure what DSDT was, but I used the patcher to create the file dsdt.aml. Maybe this conflicts with the above kexts?

 

Please advise what kexts to use to fix powermanagement on a Gateway M-6846 laptop. At a minimum I'd like to be able to sleep, shutdown properly, and have a battery menu in the menu bar.

hey BlackCH please tell me i tried installing OSX86 for more than 150+ times but wont get a working QE/CI for my FX5500.......please tell me is my rig compatible with your v.2 release.....coz i already tried 1st release but it wont worked.........please tell me in detail............its 4:30AM here i'm still looking for any solution.......so please understand and tell me the solution to get working your release with my rig.....with QE/CI
