Hello i already posted in different topic, maybe this is right one for my problem:

i have 9800GT work good with CI/QE enabled, but when try change resolution from monitor paner preference, it turn light blue clean screen and nothing happen...need hard reboot.

I cant even play games that change resolution, because it turn this light blue screen or black and nothing happen.

I have 10.5.5 i tried install aqua-mac 9000 series drivers and even 9f9intaller.pkg...both method give me this problem when i try change resolution. :)

Anyone have suggest? Thx in advance.

hi guys,

Well done to those that got things working. Dual monitors will be fine.

Thank You aqua-mac :(. I have another silly question. As I understand correctly, i would have to generate EFI strings. I used OSx86 tool to generate the strings, but what do i do after i generate the EFI stings :). There is an option that says "Import Strings to the Boot Editor" do i just do this or I have to do something else with the string? Thank You

Yes, that is what you need to do, then reboot. Make sure you remove any injectors from your extensions folder such as Natit, NVInject or NVKush if you are using strings otherwise they will not work.

I won't install any video drivers during installation so that wouldn't be a problem. Thank You

Thank you very much aqua-mac :o. I finally got iAtkos 10.5.5 on my GA EP45-UD3P ;). I just used osx86 tool utility to generate EFI strings and it worked. Every thing was working. I installed your drivers just in case . but xbench came out to be same before and after installing your drivers. So, is it important to install these drivers even if the card works only with efi strings?

Since the upgrade to 10.5.6 I can't no longer use 2 cards - I use the same EFI strings as with 10.5.5:

When I boot up with only one card it works, but putting my 9800gtx+ and my 7300GT together results in a kernel panic during boot.

But what's even stranger: in 10.5.5 I wasn't able to calibrate my 9800GTX, ColorEyes Display paniced immediately after starting it. Since 10.5.6 I can use it again but: it changes noting!

Even when I choose another color-profile in the monitor preferences it changes absolutely nothing.

Would anybody here with a 9800GTX(+) please be so kind and see if changing the profile in the monitor pref results in a visaul change of color on screen?

-- update --

I swapped the cards - with the 7300GT and a 7900GTX calibration works.

There is also a slight visual difference using the 9800GTX+ or one of the 7000models:

It seems like the range of colors is limited with the 9800. Something I slightly realized but got used to.

In direct comparison I can see it very clearly:With the 9800 blendings show gradation and it seems like some colors are dithered. Is it possible that the card works not in 32-bit-mode?

Did it work ? I'm looking to swap my 8600GT with an 9800GTX+ too. :(

Yes it did :(, you won't need these drivers if ur running 10.5.5 with graphics update. Just use osx86 tool utility to generate EFI strings. Don't choose nVidia Geforce 9800GTX, but choose custom and label "nVidia GeForce 9800GTX+". Even though if u choose the 9800GTX option it would work but benchmarks were better when i choose custom and gave a little + at the end :(. mine is eVGA GeForce 9800GTX+ 512DDR3 256bit technology. Good Luck.

Try the other DVI plug and, if you're using an injector, this NVCAP:

Please someone helps me... :(

<04000000 00000300 0c000000 00000007 00000000>

THx for suggest, changing dvi plug solved all problems about change res.

Now finally switch with all games too, and back to normal on fly.

About nvcap i had same as your suggested. Yeah :P

Btw there is kinda many 9800gt models, my for example have 0614 as id, i saw others id from 9800gt...i think nvidia did it big chaos with their new chip name...

Thanks for the installer, manage to get my 9600GT working on my iatkos 10.5.5 install! Almost wanted to swap this card with a 8800GT, good thing I didn;t

Just one little problem, my setup wont wake up from sleep. I've tried both vanilla and voodoo kernel but no go. When I press the power button, the system runs but there's no signal to the monitor. Anyone else using 9600GT and this driver have this problem? Would very much appreciate your help. Many thanks!

Ok so I have the EVGA 9800 GT, it will work with NVinject, but I would like to use the EFI strings. I installed the 9000 series drivers and then followed your instructions on how to add the EFI strings into my com.apple.Boot.plist file. OS X boots, however I dont have QE or CI. Is there a step that I missed?
