I dont have my mac yet so i cant help with anything practical but...

change the "System32\drivers\xomdd.sys" to "System32\drivers\CX_28716.inf.sys" and somehow try to preload the x1600 driver(acer driver) before Xp install???

Just a thought?????

This should just be a matter of reblessing the current xom.efi, right? In other words you won't have to reinstall xp..

And is it me or are those codes you have to type in order to download really hard to read?

Got the download to say this:

Download-Ticket has been requested. There are 131 people in queue before you.

Next refresh in 14 seconds.

As soon as your downloadslot is available for you, you have one minute to start the download. Otherwise the slot will be freed for another user.

Yikes!

I won't be after the fans work. I do a hell of a lot more then that on proper installs. BUT, since the fans DON'T work currently.... if for the time being all i use is FireFox and AIM, will it melt, damage, hurt anything?

FireFox, AIM? Use Mac OSX! lol

How come this updated patch is on onmac.net? They still have a DL link to the original 0.1 file. Plus, this new files host sucks. If hosts are needed let me know. I can provide a mirror.

This new xom.zip... to use it, we must reburn the slipstream CD and reinstall windows, correct?

Some say you might only need to rebless it (which would be the best way)

dont think you have to reinstall. might be the best way ...

Well I installed the xom.efi file to /system/library/coreservices an reblessed it. Rebooted and I could here XP startup, but could only see the grey windows flag bootloader screen.

BUT

Iam on a 20" iMac, so this may work for some one else.
