Hello,

Thanks a lot...

I am new to this... but I still managed to get it working... mostly...

used:

10.4.6 DVDPATCHED iso

machine:

Acer C301 Tablet Pc

1.5 Centrino SSE2

512 mb ram

integrated intel graphics/wifi

everything working except:

- wifi

- ethernet (no internet :( )

- tablet functions

- keyboard/mouse - but luckily I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and they are both working - and worked very simply too - no drivers or configuration needed - worked right after the installation.

Thanks

I am using darwin iso. I have an hp dv200t with, 2.0 ghz core 2duo, 80 gig sata hd, 2 gig ram, dvd burner w/i lightscribe, 14.1 in widescreen display,

I tried installing OSX Tiger but when I tried to format the partition it said "volume erase failed with the error: Could not write partition map" how do I solve this PLEASE HELP. I really want to use OSX. Thank you for all your help

My OS X boots to a black screen (actually the monitor says there's no input signal) after the gray apple screen with the spinning thingy under it. I'm pretty sure all my hardware was supported (10.4.7). Also, I have an ATi x1600, and my ISO came with drivers that said they were for ATi x1300, x1600, & x1900 (I'm pretty sure), so I installed that. Could the drivers be causing the problem?

Also, I only have one monitor, and it's not trying to output to a secondary monitor because I've tried that. Any ideas anyone?

I installed OS X 10.4.6 with your tutorial. Everything seems ok, only that when OS X starts there's problems with graphics- i see only black screen with some crazy colours on it. Seems like i need some videocard drivers or somehting. I have ATI Mobility Radeon 9700. I'll try to solve it and let you know if it works properly or not. Any suggestions welcomed!

Hi,

I installed Mac OS X in my ThinkPad R40 successfully. It works pretty nice but I have a little problem: my internal network card doesn't work so I need to use a PCMCIA D-Link DFE-690TXD. The only driver that I found for this card is for PPC.

I captured the device ID and the vendor ID for this card and tried to edit the file /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext/Contents/Info.plist with the information 0x13401186 (device id + vendor id) but I was not able to make the network card to work.

I installed the PPC driver to see if it would work and now I have no idea how to uninstall it.

1. Any clue how to uninstall the PPC driver?

2. Where can I find an Intel driver for this card?

3. Any idea how to make this thing work?

Besides, I also have a problem with my video card (I think): neither the Chess nor the screensavers work. They crash right after I initiate them. How do I solve this?

Thanks a lot for the help.

Well I'm trying to accomplish this all day, and it finally all went well, but when on the final part the text on the black background shows up everything starts loading up and instead of logging me into MAC system it just stops at the end. I don't know what should cause this :tomato: pls help

My specs are :

Windows MCE 2006 legal - Service Pack2

Pentium D CPU 2.80 GHz

1.00 GB ram

250 GB HD

BFG GeForce 7800 GT overclocked

I really don't know what I did wrong... any help would be good :D thx

tips for those who havent yet booted the jas. dvd.

Do the whole guide once again. Unistall Deamon Tools and install again. (worth a try)

Find a clean JAS. Mine is 10.4.6

Mount it in deamon tools. (Drive F: in my case)

Specify the Drive F: in Workstation. (MUST BE THE DRIVE YOUR IMAGE WAS RECENTLY MOUNTED)

i got it working. Thanks a lot.

Hi!

Thanks a ton for the detailed guide. I was able to install MAC OS X 10.4.7 effortlessly however i am facing a problem:

When the system booted for the first time, after the initial white screen with grey colored apple, i got a screen with crippled graphics and some statusbar at the center. The next screen was worse as i couldnt make out what was mentioned to me in that garbled sentence - it said something like press the right button, press the left button etc. I tried pressing all types of keys on the laptop but all i got was a purple patch with a white X and then the system froze :( restarting the system doesnt help as all i finally get now is a small white box somewhere towards the center and one purple patch with a big white X on the top right hand corner and after 10-15 secs the system freezes again!

Any kind of help on the same would be highly appreciated..

the laptop that i have is of the following config:

HP nx7400

Pentium Core2Duo 1.66 GHz

1 GB RAM

100 GB RAM

Onboard Intel Graphics

Cheers

I installed 10.4.6 JAS on my Dell Inspiron 9300 and everything went well until it reboots post install. Then it hangs on this screen:

photolb2.jpg

I have an Intel Pentium M 770 Which is MMX, SSE and SSE2. I have 2gigs of DDR 2 and a NVidia GoForce 7800 GTX installed in it.

As a test when I installed OS X, it just went with singe boot... I now have windows back on so I will use Acronis. Any ideas on what I need to do would be great. I am going to try to DL a better ISO right now.

Ive downloaded the jas 10.4.8 reseed iso (4.3 something gb) but when i burn it to dvd it only comes out to 433kb. When i try to boot from the dvd on restart, darwin boots but i dont have an option to install mac osx, instead i get the error message saying "system config file '/com.apple.boot.plist" is missing or something of that manner. has anyone else experienced these problems? ive tried downloading the iso twice and have tried burning it with alcohol and with nero with no luck. if anyone can help that would be great.

Core2Duo 2.13

Asus p5b-e

2gb ram

nvidia geforce 7300GS

seagate 250gb sata hd

Working! Lenovo 3000 V100, Core Duo.

XP Pro, OSX86 JaS 10.4.8 w/8.8.1 kernel.

Only flaw is that there is no way how to make my Intel 3945AGB wireless to work. Let me know if you have other info or experience plz.

My built-in camera is also not working, but I believe I can make that happen.

Thanks to all the good ppl in this forum!!!!!! (Rammjet esp.)
