New Zunes Soon?

Appleinsider is reporting that Microsoft might be updating it's iPod Killer, the Zune, as soon as tomorrow. Microsoft will release its first media player to employ flash memory for storage rather than a hard disk. The "Zune Mini" would be just 3 inches tall and 1.25 inches wide and would be smaller than the first or second generation iPod nano in almost every way, but it still would have video playback, WiFi, and the other features from the normal Zune. A picture of the new Zunes showed two devices similar to the 30GB Zune but with a square-like control pad and a narrower, thinner profile. At the time, the image pointed to 4GB and 8GB flash-based Zunes shipping in four colors and a lone 80GB hard drive model in black. Can someone say iPod?

Yeah, I know I'm one of the millions of people who go on Mac websites to check out the latest Zune info...

 

You should've at least put up actual pictures of the new Zunes rather than mockups.

Yeah, I know I'm one of the millions of people who go on Mac websites to check out the latest Zune info...

Well maybe the Zune will come out with a feature that the iPod doesn't have... ie Ugliness, Uselessness, Made by M$, WiFi etc

I think the Zune's catchy new theme song is what'll sell these suckers like hot cakes. Zune,Zune,Zune!

As long as it comes in brown, it can't help but equal the runaway success of the original.

 

They should call it The Squirt, then they really could have Musafar as celebrity spokesmodel... zune zune zune

Seriously, it doesnt look to changed. The reason i didnt like the zune in the first place wasnt the shatty colors, or the fake clickwheel, but the way the screen is taller than wider when standing up. granted, the touch and iphone is like this but then again its a touchscreen so who cares?

I suppose it would be good if it were thing, hold a lot of music and make calls, touch screen, something like a iPhone NANO (older model, but all screen), something like that would be a huge seller.

 

Imagine, old NANO 8GB (tall and thin), but all touch screen and phone/web device.

Who would buy this thing when M$ thinks everyones a thief. The Zune looks like those knock off iPods. M$ will fail since Apple has the iPod Touch, the sexy iPod nano and that 160GB iPod classic.

The word "Zune" makes me feel funny :)

Exactly. To me the Zune is dead and those that use them, just deny themselves the quality of other mp3 players.

Has anyone even seen a Zune in the wild .At least this new ones doesnt look to much like a brick , i remember those days when they dare to call it "ipod killer" ;) .
