OS X on the MSI Wind, Before it's Released

Well I can live without firewire, but I just wonder on the screen size having not seen one in person.

OS X on the MSI Wind, Before it's Released

Sounds cool. I MUST be able to do things on headphones, so blue tooth headphones work? On firewire, add on card?

OS X on the MSI Wind, Before it's Released

I started to look into these. I want a nice laptop, nothing super powerful. It looks great this wind laptop, but I worry about: Headphones not working No firewire. I want to use it for internet, email, instant messaging, office stuff, picture editing ( jpg's from cameras, no raw stuff), audio editing (small stuff), and capture SMALL video. I had a ibook 1.33 G4 and it was fine, but chugged in some things. I don't want to do much, my pc does the video editing and I plan to go imac next year. Is this a solution for me?

    Dell Inspiron 531/s installation issues

So this worked for you? I hear the network card doesn't work right. I use a Sprint USB card, it works in Mac OS X that all I need. Did you get the video card to work, or at least some what? If I had video, audio, usb, fire wire, and burning capabilities I would be set.

    HP dv6000 & dv9000 series

I shouldn't double post, but since this thread isn't going anywhere right now.... I am on the laptop, it is specifically a: HP dv6409wm. It is a AMD tuion 64 x2, 1 gig ram, 100 gig hard drive, nvidia graphics, Conexant HD audio, dvd burner, broadcom wireless and multi card reader. I figure the card reader won't work but shouldn' OS X install on this and work fine? Haven't messed with it in a while and want to try.

    Dell Inspiron 531/s installation issues

This is what is says in the wiki: Inspiron 530s * Install method: KALYWAY_LEO_10.5.1intel_SSE2_SSE3 * Chipset: Intel G33 * CPU E6750 * EFI v8 with Netkas 9.2.0 Kernel with shut down fix http://netkas.org/?p=57 * Shutdown works...require Stock AppleACPIPlatform.kext \ Restart works \ Sleep works * GMA 3100 on-board graphic not working... * GeForce 7300LE Video working with NVinject * ALC888 on-board sound works with HDA_ICH9_ALC888.zip * Onboard Inte LAN not working . . . . . * Using REALTEK RTL8139D PCI ethernet working..no patch require!!! . . Will this work for the 531 if you got the AMD version? I figure not many care, but still I would like OS X on this machine to use.

    Dell Inspiron 531/s installation issues

I am looking for the SATA controller, I assume it is on the board. First time in a while I just "bought" a pc, but didn't need a gaming rig, just audio/video rig for editing. There has to be a way to get this to load, then most of the everything should work fine. Maybe....

    Dell Inspiron 531/s installation issues

That stinks. it seems like he machine should be able to run it, but I guess the motherboard is an issue?

    Dell Inspiron 531/s installation issues

Sorry to dig this topic up, saw one in the Leopard forum, but I now have a 531 (nice little pc) and I thought about trying OSX on it again. Has this been accomplished on this machine? Thanks.

    Dell Inspiron 531 compatability

I have just got one of these systems, my old one died and this DELL was cheap and actually very powerful. I thought about OSX86 again, is this possible on this machine? How much patching? I would like to keep Vista to dual boot. I am searching, but wanted to post in this since it was a topic already here.

    MacWorld: Steve's Keynote

Trance2007, you need to understand economics. It costs money to get Intel to shrink a chip by 60%. It costs money to get a laptop that small, have a big screen, big keyboard, etc. Now I am not into the price either, but I do know it wasn't going to be cheap. As time goes on and smaller chips come out, it is go down. New technology is always high.

Uh, calm down with the bold and super text. It don't matter to me much, but if they could squeeze in the Ethernet port, would have been better. Oh well.
