Also, a quick thank you to all of our service men and women who are currently serving and have served. I cannot thank you enough. You are truly heroes...

Me? I'm going to put aside politics and strife and wish my country a happy 232nd birthday. I'd suggest that all Americans do the same.

 

EDIT: SDRacer, I envy whoever can/did get their permit at 15. I couldn't get my permit till I turned 16... screw Massachusetts. Ha.

Happy 4th of July? No. We have nothing to celebrate. Our countries leadership is almost an exact model of Nazi Germany. We are carrying out the final solution for the people of Afghanistan,Iraq and next Iran and although we still feign friendship with Saudi Arabia as soon as we are firmly settled in the area they will also feel the sting of the greed and betrayal the same way the American Indians did during the invasion of their country. So far our occupation in Iraq under the guise of freeing them from dictatorship has resulted in the deaths and injuries of an estimated 1 million of their civilians and the total collapse of their infrastructure and annihilation of their cultural history. Yet the reasons given for the invasions have proven to be ALL lies and even some of the braver truly patriotic US army generals are stepping forward requesting that those responsible for the atrocities ALL be brought to justice.

 

To Sabr I say in most topics I would strongly agree with you but in this case people need to hear both sides of the story because the US news media is not covering the truth because they are owned by the same people making huge profits from it.We need to speak out whenever we can. The internet is the only place where people can learn about what's really happening in the world and counter the kind of message heard from people like blkhockeypro19 who would have us just STFU. By the way, I am a US citizen and consider myself a true patriot. To those of you from other countries please remember that although those in power would have you believe that we in the US are a free nation I can assure you if that was ever true in history it is not the reality of today. There is a continued effort by those in power to increase the so called security which is nothing more than an escalation of the police state that already exists. If you think I'm exaggerating consider our senate is currently debating the FISA bill which allows for our own government to spy on its citizens. Giving them the right to read your emails, listen to your phone conversations to list a few. All without having to justify the spying or obtaining a court order for such activities. All a blatant disregard for our own constitution. George Orwell's future is here NOW. WAKE UP!! All part of the New World Order. WTO, World Bank etc. Do you really want people like we currently have ruling the World?

I'm so glad to know someone like you is so wise. I'm am so stupid that I knew nothing of what you are talking about. I have lived in the US all of my life and knew nothing of what you have said until now. If I watch Fahrenheit 911, An Inconvenient Truth and listen to what you say ...... will I then be wise like you ? You are now like a father figure to me. Please tell me what to do and run my life for me. Should I move to Iran or join a terrorist group so I and people all over the world can experience true freedom ?

 

I know now that I am not free. I will not watch fireworks, enjoy a bbq or salute the flag this fourth of July. Thank you again for sharing your great wisdom. I think I love you.

Whoever pastes a huge USA-Flag and July 4th jubilations on their post should not be surprised when political comments are provoked. Like it or not, the USA and its flag has become a symbol for war-imperialism, turbo-captialism crushing the lives and cultures of people world-wide who are not "lucky" enough to live in your heavily militarized country.

 

That my post - that simply referred to a poll among active MILITARY (who by a vast majority want the USA out of Iraq) was deleted by the administrators and we are left with the one-liner gibberish from SDRacer48... THIS does not speak much for the so-called "independence" of the USA and its citizens. Can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen: or... stop posting USA-Flags and one-liner insults....
