1.1.3 Leads to Problems...and Hope

Numberzz

Maybe the version that Gear Live had was the final version. It would seem that the 1.1.3 update is far less stable than previous versions. I got this list from TUAW, but I have one annoying problem that I'm going to add:

-Error message during/after install of iTunes 7.6 and firmware 1.1.3

-Loss of sound output from the iPhone's built-in speakers

-Bluetooth devices that worked with 1.1.2 no longer work

-Mail problems

-Springboard crashes when dragging items in/out of dock

That last one is really annoying. Other than the last one I haven't had any of the reported problems that people have been reporting. Have you had any of these?

UPDATE: It appears that for some reason, bricked iPhone have been restored to a fully functional iPhone after the update. Link

1.1.3 is fine on my iPod.

It seems more stable, in fact, since there are no more poorly written extra apps

What poorly written extra apps? They all run great. Also, get on AIM.

Just a quick little update, 1.1.3 has been jailbroken, but the lame devs are holding off for another MONTH to release it, simultaneously with the SDK... :)

That kind of defeats the point, I was using Jailbroken Apps as a placeholder until the SDK was released. Still, I'm happy with my Jailbroken 1.1.2.

Also, get on AIM.

QFE.

Yeah guys, seems the iPhone Devs are holding out on this one for a while with the hope that Apple won't patch the new jailbreak exploit before the SDK. :(

Which i don't think is a really great idea. First off, Apple reads this stuff and knows they've found an exploit. Second, they'll probably release an update to go with the SDK anyway. They'll look pretty dumb if they hold out until then to find out that Apple patched what they were using. You can definitely count me in the "release it now!" crowd.

Well I got everything that 1.1.3 does through jailbreaking my iphone and adding the apps that 1.1.2 didn't have so it's no problem for me waiting until the dev team releases the jailbreak for 1.1.3 at the end of February.

Supposedly, they are holding off until the SDK comes out so that they can't patch the SDK to nullify the jailbreak.

Thats right.

Also, Me thinks Apple will release new firmware that will support 3rd parts apps.

The apps will be in the Media partition and I see no folder for apps in iPHUC (With 1.1.3)

You can downgrade to 1.1.1 but you can't use the phone as the modem firmware.

my iPhones safari web browser crashes way more now than it ever did when It had the 1.1.2 firmware. most of the time it crashes when its loading a big picture on a page. oh and when I did the retarded update all my old deleted e-mails came back yea all 254 of them. I'm really hopping that developers create some really nice apps for the iPhone like a mobile firefox or something. oh and I hope that the apps are cheap cuz if they are not I'm going to jailbrake this :censored2:
