Yes, it's true. Check Software Update right now. The build is only a 180MB (Update: It appears that the size of the update varies from computer to computer, ranging from 180-380MB) download and not 400MB+ as some people thought it would be. Here are some of the improvements:

Active Directory

* Addresses issues which could hinder or prevent binding Mac OS X 10.5.x clients to Active Directory domains.

AirPort

* Improves connection reliability and stability

* Includes 802.1X improvements.

* Resolves certain kernel panics.

Back to my Mac

* Adds support for more third-party routers, as detailed in this article.

Dashboard

* Improves performance of certain Apple Dashboard widgets (such as Dictionary).

* Addresses an issue in which Dashboard widgets may no longer be accessible after switching to or from an account that has Parental Controls enabled.

Dock

* Updates Stacks with a List view option, a Folder view option, and an updated background for Grid view.

Desktop

* Addresses legibility issues with the menu bar with an option to turn off transparency in Desktop & Screen Saver preferences.

* Adjusts menus to be slightly-less translucent overall.

iCal

* Improves iCal so that it accurately reflects responses to recurring meetings.

* Addresses an issue in which a meeting may remain on the calendar after being cancelled.

* Addresses stability issues related to .Mac syncing of iCal calendars.

* Resolves an intermittent issue in which editing an event with attendees would cause the event to shrink and not register that the event was updated.

iChat

* Addresses an issue with simultaneously-logged in accounts in which iChat sounds generated from one account might be heard in another account.

* Fixes an issue in which iChat idle time is affected by Time Machine backups.

* Improves connectivity when running iChat behind a router that doesn’t preserve ports.

* Enables logged chats from previous versions of iChat to open faster and more reliably.

* Addresses an issue with text chats in which users may be unable to receive messages from the sender.

* Addresses an issue that may prevent rejoining an AIM chat room without reopening iChat.

* Addresses video chat compatibility issues with AIM 6 and third-party routers.

* Fixes an issue with case-sensitivity of AIM handles.

And much much more. Here is the more.

Would this update work on "normal" P4? I have a Pentium IV, 3,0 GHz, L 2Mb cache.

My PC-EFI is 6.5, I believe.

wich one do you mean ? The apple one or the kaly one ?

I believe that with a P4 you need an hacked kernel ,so you have the choice, nor you use apple update with pacifist and keep your old hacked kernel (9.1.0) and your old system kext.

Nor you choose for kaly combo update with hacked kernel 9.2.0 from kaly too. Go on the bay ...

Thank you very much. I have updated my computer with Kaly combo. Now everything works perfect. I must say that after doing the update, I had a black screen before the desktop to load. This black screen was there 2 minutes, at every boot, until I installed kaly 10.5.2 kernel. Now it works like a charm!

I didn't need to do anything for my graphics.

must be something here (but I saw other people with the same prob, anyway a 1.2.2 version is coming)

also notice a strange bug on system preferences, when select the keyboard and mouse preferences it just doesn't load, by clicking again its now loaded but with a blank window like a bug/mistaken on IB.

on macrumors forum, many people with real mac are reporting other bugs and errors too

maybe apple will release a 10.5.2.1 lol? or 10.5.3/security update will be available soon as we can expect?

Updated to 10.5.2 using the Kalaway package without any major hiccups and also upgraded the kernel. The only thing I am a little scepticle about is updating to the Leopard graphics update and worry if it ruins my install.

10.5.2 working fine on both the Macbook and the Mac Pro. Although oddly it was a 180MB install for the Macbook and 340 or something for the Mac Pro.

Prior to the update, I had issues using Time Machine to backup from the Macbook to an external drive (not enough space), but somehow since 10.5.2 it is like a 10GB smaller backup - no idea why. Too bad you still can't use Time Machine with Airport Extreme + external HD tho.

my boot take take longer than usual after update to 10.5.2. Usually only take about 15 seconds, now almost 30 seconds.

+1, maybe it's the "price of stability" !! Even if for my part 10.5.1 was already unbreakable! :)

The boot times have definitely increased a bit at my end as well as far it does not harm the overall stability thats what holds the key for me.

Boot time is about 17 seconds to the desktop from the prompt for me.

Is there a way to install on a non-pc_efi hack? If so, can someone write up a guide?

Well, its possible with

defaults write com.apple.systempreferences TMShowUnsupportedNetworkVolumes 1

but you can't really be sure of the reliability of those backups, some people have said it works flawlessly, other have had trouble. I can get it to back-up ok, but I have to reconnect it directly to my MBP to be able to restore anything. I just wonder with the release of Time Capsule if Apple will ever bother supporting Airport disks. I'm sure all it would take is a simple Airport firmware update.
