iAtkos 5 on Asus P5Q Deluxe installation - where am I going wrong?
Forceman replied to sev1972's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
Try booting -v -f -
EDIT: iPC OSx86 Final PPF5 "Still waiting for root device"
Forceman replied to aznc4j's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
Try setting the boot devices to your SATA first then your DVD. Have you tried booting with -f? You should find your disk name and boot with rd="mydiskname". You can use the disk utility booting off the DVD to get this. -
I am unable to install in msi wind board 330

Have you tried booting with -f? If so try rd="mydisk". Use the disk utility when you boot off the DVD to find that info. -
nForce chipsets are not very well supported so you'll be lucky to get it installed and working proper. Also IDE is not great either, SATA is the most supported.

Open the dsdt.dsl in TextEdit(Open With) You should see these lines(not exactly, these are mine); Scope (_PR) { Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {} Processor (P002, 0x02, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Alias bah bah Processor (P003, 0x03, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P004, 0x04, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Alias bah bah { Remove the two "Alias" lines and make it look like this Scope (_PR) { Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {} Processor (P002, 0x02, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P003, 0x03, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P004, 0x04, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} } In the terminal, cd into where your dsdt patcher is and run sudo ./DSDT*Patcher -f Debug/dsdt.dsl This is assuming your patcher name is the same, just put yours in if it's different. Copy the dsdt.aml to your root partition, i.e your volume name / and rename it DSDT.aml

I am unable to install in msi wind board 330
Forceman replied to wsx00201's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
Search the forum for "Atom" support, some versions come with 'Netbook' options. -
Can you set your IDE to a secondary channel? This is usually caused by devices not being setup right or in the right order. In your bios, make sure you SATA is the first boot device and the IDE your second in the list.
-
Check to see if your chipset is actually supported. You may need a SATA DVD and try changing your boot devices around.

Mac OSX on ASUS P5Q and ASUS P5Q PRO AND SOME OTHER P5Q MOBO ALSO
Forceman replied to RoberT_XeS's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
OK, I've just got Leopard working after getting past the IO buffer error hanging(using the HowTo). Ethernet and sound is now working as well on my ASUS P5QL Pro and I didn't need to flash the bios. I need to boot with cpus=1 -f all of the time and shutdown/restart doesn't work proper. Any ideas on this? -
[HowTo]: Fix for "using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers."
Forceman replied to THE0's topic in Tutorials (The Genius Bar)
This gets me past that error but then I get "Still waiting for root device". Does replacing the kexts break newer chipsets like ICH10/P5QL Pro? -
Yep, same error here no matter what I do. Installing is fine, no need for any commands but booting just freezes with that error. Q8400 2.66Ghz ASUS P5QL Pro
