Oxygen is not toxic to our bodies. We need it...

Taking drugs causes multiple times worse damage to our bodies than everyday life routines.

Also, I think in this case, DOING something is not an achievement, it's a death sentence.

BTW: Here's an article describing the effects (bad) of weed on the body: http://www.well.com/user/woa/fspot.htm

The source for this article is viable.

your entire post stinks of ignorance, perhaps you shouldn't give your opinions on subjects you are so ill informed on.

speed on weed :D , Lovely snowcones my friends :P

aww kiko, that brought back a great memory... chilling out with mates smoking a big bag of nice ultra sticky green with a sprinkling of coke (tangy!), coming down off a night of ol' skool clubbing and MDMA powder :).. damn I'm dribbling.

Maybe you're the one who should be more informed on these subjects.

Breathing in normal amounts of Oxygen won't do anything to you. The article says that breathing "elevated" amount of it will cause harm to you. You'd have to be breathing pretty heavily if this happens to you...

I wonder why you haven't responded the rest of my post...

Re read the article, elevated is referring to altitude (i.e. higher up) like up a mountain. Good luck on your first scuba if you think oxygens not toxic. Your inability to make sense of a well written article will never change the FACT that oxygen IS toxic.

There is nothing else to address in the remainder of your post, its just a series of uninformed opinions.

this is dumb. from wikipedia:

"Oxygen, at normal atmospheric pressures, will never cause oxygen toxicity".

Only in scuba diving (and purified in ventilators).

chemical drugs are still horrible for you. Weed, however, probably does nothing.

Which specific chemicals are you referring to and how are they horrible? You do know there are thousands of drugs that all have different properties, I assume you also know that weed is a chemical drug and so is the food you eat for that matter. To say "drugs are bad for you" is moronic, of course some chemicals are very bad for you, some not so bad, some good. Notice the last two words of the part you quoted, how can you read that and not understand that oxygen is toxic, you do know the difference between oxygen and air don't you?

yes I understand the difference. And the points you bring up are trivial, as you are basically asking me to define "bad" and "good".

the chemicals in weed have not been shown to cause permanent damage to the human body. However, the chemicals in crack, LSD, Meth, etc can do significant damage to your body (including your brain).

"drugs are bad for you":

drugs being illegal drugs taken to get high, taken in excess. I am using the popular definition, as opposed to the biological one. "bad" meaning they cause damage. They are bad for you because of the chemicals in them.

Would you like me to define "damage" as well?

I can't even be arsed carrying n talking to you, its pointless, every sentence you said sounds like it was constructed by an eight year old and you contradict yourself with every line. I'll stick to my drugs thanks so I don't end up like you.

socal, go read about the effect of oxygen on living organisms, there's a little thing called oxidization which you might want to read extra on

Oxidation is key (in fact, mandatory) in Aerobic respiration (cellular respiration).

and what is the point of bringing up Oxygen toxicity? If it won't be encountered in everyday life (minus diving and badly monitored hospitals) then its irrelevant

sorry gazasaurusu, I would put more effort into what I am saying but it doesn't seem like there is much to argue over. Instead of attacking what I am actually saying, you are attacking the way I said it. Every single one of my points are valid, though they may not have been stated in the most scientifically accurate way.

Please, go use some meth. See what happens. And then come back and show me where my grammar is bad.

Why are we debating about oxygen toxicity?

It's a complete non-arguement.

The fact is, many illegal (and legal) drugs *can* be harmful to you.

Many are harmless in small amounts.

If someone chooses to do drugs, then it's up to them.

I've looked into weed a fair bit now, and I can see it can be less harful than tobacco.

However, it's still illegal here, and I'd rather stick to the good side of the law ;)

I've smoked weed only thrice (during a field trip, 4/20, and with my girlfriend about a month ago), and decided its not bad, but unless its easily available, its not something I'm going to go out of my way for.

A series of uninformed opinions...followed by a link that completely proves you wrong. Right.

Seriously. Stop being such an ignorant idiot and shut up.

I used to try weed. About once a half year I smoked it. But after visiting Amsterdam 1 month ago I think I won't smoke it anymore!

First day of our Amsterdam visit... Did a little walk in the center of the city then decided to visit one of the coffeshops... Asked for something light. Man sold us 2 joints. That was really light so we didn't get any effect. Then we went to another one. Decided not to ask and made random choice. Picked up "The white widow" (hope someone of you know what it is...). Very strong {censored}... When I came back to Russia I was told that 1) it was enough to smoke just a little bit of this sort of weed to get effect 2) it is quite heve and doesn't make any fun. But eventually we smoked 1,5 joints each.. It has really killed us.. I have lost my consciousness for 2 times! :boxing: It is really fearful... Try to avoid this sort of weed! That pretty negative experience makes me refuse from smoking weed...

just wondering, any one uses vaporisers to smoke their weed?

Vaporizers and gasmasks FTW!!

Ace, White Widow is the SHIZIT! Sounds like you couldn't handle it though, so I'm guessing your a lightweight. It's cool, we've all been there.

I don't do drugs but I find that quite funny. Dude, look at what the hell you do, you are in Amsterdam, not your friend's garage or in an alley buying pot....

Only Nicotine I really don't wanna get hocked on any drugs like weed and soforth.

This is a prime example of the ignorance and misinformation spread by governments about cannibus. Is weed addictive? Despite what my chronic toker friends say, I like to think that it most likely is. Is smoking weed unhealthy: while its not really that bad for you, of course not smoking is healthier than smoking. Still, cigarettes and nicotine are sooo much more addictive and harmful (and most likely expensive, a half trac is $30) than marijuana is. I smoke, if I'm offered a cigarette I usually don't turn it down, but I don't buy personal packs for myself.
