b4sakenxx
I was experiencing the same problem with my install, then I realised I missed an important step, in my eagerness I overlooked the "umount -f /dev/diskxsY command, and after completing the first two steps I had to type "Exit" to free up the disk so I could unmount it in Disk Util so I could do the third command. I rebooted and it gave me /com.apple.boot.plist couldn’t be found error, so I am currently installing Leopard again, I will report back on how it went...(Although I do not use a Bad Axe Mobo, I wanted to point out my stupidy in the hope it might help) you know, i was wondering why i couldn't unmount the partition. but i tried that exit command and it still wouldn:t let me unmount, weird huh. ran the final command anyway. replicant
so those of you with 7.2 working, are you able to still dual boot/install an alternate os? i see where bootcamp doesn't currently work with 7.2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72493-leopard-perfect-install/page/11/#findComment-522779 Share on other sites
flibblesan
Well, I got it to boot with GUID disk Just a quick question for the smarter types out there...with the new GUID, do I still need to have dsmos.kext and AppleSMBIOS.kext installed... I installed both, but was wondering if both were needed, and for everyone who wants to try, I agree with previous posts, it does seem much faster and more responsive. Many thanks to the very very smart peeps out there and my Xbench Score went from 125 to 138 Yes. Both are still needed. richtig
so those of you with 7.2 working, are you able to still dual boot/install an alternate os? i see where bootcamp doesn't currently work with 7.2 I haven't seen any reports whatsoever (so far) of anyone being able to install Boot Camp on a Hackentosh machine running OSX (Tiger or Leopard). The OSX Boot Camp installer checks the motherboard bios version first. So: tinkering with the Boot Camp installer would probably be required. Installing the Boot Camp components on a Windows partition: not sure... -Q- Master
I run Vista on a separate hdd but I use a grub. I will try to make the OSX drive bootable with v7_only directly without a grub. Question on upgrading to 10.5.1 Can I do it and will work just fine ? Anyone can confirm this ? What's GeekBench2 reporting after the upgrade ? ("it" being efi 7.2). netkas.org also has an FAQ on installing it. if you are asking how to install leopard, well you look to already have that part done.
