  1. http://www.parallels.com/uk/support/desktop/licensing/ drama over
  2. Geforce 460GTX Supported!

Checked the bios. Theres no DSDT at all. Maybe because it's AMD?
  3. Geforce 460GTX Supported!

I'm unable to get my KFA2 1GB GTX460 working on 10.6.5 or 10.6.6. I've tried the tonymac update, latest Chameleon, PCIroot fix etc. Nothing works. Always detected as a 64MB video card. I'm running AMD with the latest legacy kernel. Anybody got any ideas what could be causing this? My motherboard (M4A785TD-M) doesn't have ACPI tables so I can't make DSDT.
  4. ATI HD Radeon 4650 on ideneb 10.5.6

There is no support for this card.
  5. The Dumbing Down of osx86

Too many people are signing up to the forum and have downloaded random distribution X and create a new topic basically begging somebody to do all the work for them. I joined this forum in 2005 when all this was new and scary. I downloaded deadmoo. I trashed my system several times and learned as I went along. I'm no expert now. I still do things wrong and I'm still unsure about things. But I read threads and learn. I don't expect people to bend over backwards to give me a perfect 100% solution for my system. If something doesn't work then I either look for a solution that somebody else has found, or I work it out myself. These days every tech website has written guides to installing OSX on a standard PC or laptop. This has unfortunately given the impression to many people that OSX is easy peasy and works on any PC just like Windows does. When it doesn't work, these people scream and moan on the forums here demanding to know why it doesn't work and why member X won't help them 3 seconds after they post a thread. People need to understand that they should look at OSX86 in the same way they look at Linux. That is, it may work perfectly but you may have to tinker with it to get it fully working. Unfortunately people don't. I sound like a moaning git, lol
  6. Only 1 Core working

What kernel did you install? Try AnV 10.5.6 kernel http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=153414
  7. Brilliant. They must have had a server issue then. Many thanks.
  8. Is there a mirror for the INSTAHackintosh 1.0 dmg please? I can't download it from mediafire as they say the file has been removed.
  9. I am trying to reply to this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...5477&st=160 And I am getting the error: "Sorry, you do not have permission to reply to that topic" and a login box. I am logged in already.
  10. ›› Voodoo XNU Kernel is now Released

I think it would be better to wait for mercurysquad to release the 9.6.0 kernel.
  11. Can't mount .dmg files or open .pkg files? Help

Kernel version must match the System.kext version. If you are using a 9.5.0 kernel (from 10.5.5) then use the system.kext from 10.5.5
  12. Vista Home Premium x64 installs perfectly fine to a GUID partitioned disk for me without any problems.
  13. AnV Chameleon boot loader

Andy, great work! I'm looking forward to you adding support for /Extra and possible support for the Munk EFI partition method. Chameleon is open source. Anybody can do whatever they like with the code as long as they release the modified code. Andy has done that. So, westwaerts, what exactly have you done for the scene?
  14. Nvidia Ion is no more.

It's possible that NVidia will either approach AMD with this, or partner up with VIA. Personally, I think they have more chance going to VIA as I don't believe AMD have any low-power chips.
  15. Efi Partition tool

Another feature for the tool which I think would be interesting, is a simple way to install kexts to the EFI partition. Currently I have to fire up a terminal and do: bash-3.2# mkdir /Volumes/EFI bash-3.2# mount_hfs /dev/disk0s1 /Volumes/EFI then copy kexts manually to /Volumes/EFI/Extensions then run ./update.sh located in /Volumes/EFI/ I love the feature in OSX86Tools for installing kexts. It would be great if this new tool would allow you to select kexts you want to install, then automatically mount the EFI drive, copy the kexts, and run the update.sh script (or, actually, just do what the script does, which is set permissions and create Extensions.mkext). The finally, unmount the partition. The new version of Chameleon is supposed to have EFI partition booting support, so I think this tool will be very useful for that.. as well as being useful for the Munky method now.
