n00b centered UI

I thought OSX's UI was supposed to be more simple than even Vista's. When most people want to complain about Vista's UI, they usually shoot for the high hardware requirements and complexity...

And BTW, don't we have enough of these types of topics? If people have a complaint about Vista, they should just post in any of the other available topics. It's getting to the point of needing a "Vista Blows" sub-forum ;)

Just today 2 more annoyances, I was paying my phone bill online, the WiFi was disconnected just before I click on the pay button, and I don't know if the transaction was applied, just until tomorrow I will know. Then I tried to pay a credit card bill online, I opened several times the Internet Explorer (because the damn banks only accept IE as browser :( ) and crashed every time I open the bank site. Tired of that I started as Mac and ran the XP in Fusion, everithing was ok.

Damn Vista I hate you.

I've installed XP alongside 10.5 and Ubuntu 7.10 on my laptop, which came with VHP. Let's say I'm not regretting it, to say the least :P The machine is responsive under Windows again. Huzzah!

Anyway, Alessandro17 is right, there's so many OS vs. OS threads in this forum we could drown in them. Why don't we talk about something else for once?

It's not at all fine if you're computer literate. It's one of the most illogical OSes I've ever encountered in operation...

Most of the 'change for the sake of change' which seems to have gone on in Vista's UI makes functions far less obvious than their XP counterparts. About the only thing that's easier for n00bs with Vista is installing it.

I like it from a teacher's POV, in that I can lock out students from installing useless {censored} (i.e. the smiley pack that contains a virus) from the systems via their user accounts.

To be fair, this is something OS X has had for a long time.

Wow Robotskip hasn't thrown down in here yet.....

Azureal is right. It not logical in some ways the OS is layed out, buggy, resource hog..... hell, I am not going to list it all out. I think it does suck and sad that SP1 is still a ways off and from the reports, the speed of the OS isn't increased.

Vista is a marginal improvement on XP.

Buuut, that doesn't say much :)

The 32bit version is ok, if a little dodgey with some games. The x64 version uses so much RAM, but I think it's a little faster.

However, both versions lose me about 15fps on Sim City 4, which makes a lot of difference on a GMA950.

I would say it crashes a lot with my games, but XP does that too

I don't like Vista (I used to absolutely hate it but that was probably because I used an annoying Release Candidate version for a while)

For many reasons. The few things that are good about it:

1) Nice interface (although RAM hogging)

2) Good for newbie users to start with

3) Compatible with lots of hardware

4) Lots of data loss prevention techniques

5) Good start up time (atleast in my opinion)

The final release version is much better than the Release Candidate version (which is what I have) but its still not exactly as stable as XP. I still haven't tried Vista SP1 so maybe that has some improvements in store.

Wow, that's quite an unbiased poll you have there. Are you guys finished with your circle jerk? Can we move on now? Let me know when you guys are finished with your repititive "LOL VIST ASUCKS" threads, maybe than a decent, objective discussion will happen without things like M$, winblowz, and so on appearing.

But hey, if you guys are content with your silly threads like this, fair enough. Each to his own, kind of like how you have that small group of people who are in to bestiality and child pornography.
