formatting and flagging for boot worked.

Now audio and network not working. Anyone got an idea? I am still now and I suspect smething about kernel stuff is required. I'm not very well versed in that.

Well it would seem everyone can get it installed using sata now what about regular IDE, i cant even get to the installer, either its sam read write errors or it just sits waiting for boot device, I've downloaded it twice and burned it twice still no luck, i've even tried moving the ide cables around and the jumpers still no luck. Played around in bios enabling and dissabling stuff. is there something im missing?

Ok, so i've used uphuck 1.4a with great results wifi, track pad and keyboard all work. The one thing i can't get to work is my geforce go 6150. I've tried every method, nvinject, nvmobility, macvidia is down or at least it was yesterday, titan and the other one there all give kernel panic. I then tried kalyways 10.4.10 dvd which would install but would give kernel panic upon reboot. so i tried tubgirl's release and it boots up fine but my broadcom wifi is gone and i can't get it back. tried installing wirelessnetworking.kext from uphuck and io8alklkjwh(whatever the hell that other nextwork extension is).kext from kalyway and still nothing. also with this one im back to the good old usb mouse and keyboard. But the webcam works as isight!

Im using a hpdv9210us, 1.6 AMD turion 64x2 (TL-52), 17", geforce go6150 (256 SHARED vram), broadcom wifi (don't have dev id off hand), the wonderful nforce 410/430 MCP51 sata (sarcasm if you couldn't tell) 2 gigs ram, and an external wd 250 my book usb drive modded to swap satas.

any clues on how to at least get wifi goin again? internal keyboard and trackpad would be nice but being gounded to a usb drive doesn't really make a difference

USB works for wireless mouse, but cannot mount any external USB device (ipod, or thumb drive, or other external HDD). Still working on that one... anybody have a solution? I already tried the update from apple to no avail and tried the USB prober.

I don't know if my solution is universal or not, but I replaced the extension IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext with the extension form koolkal's 10.4.10 updater, and after fixing properties and a reboot, some of my drives started working again. Only misser is a pen drive, but don't need that so much.

How about the DFI nForce4 Ultra's built-in AC97, the Realtek ALC655 6-channel audio codec. When enabled in BIOS, OS X reports it in system wide as AC97, but there is no sound in or out. Even System Profiler got nothing showing under Audio section. How to enable this audio chip?

Hey everyone,

This release seems to work great and it's my first osx86 install, however I've run into a few problems. I hope some people might be able to help me out.

System Specs:

ASUS M2A-VM HDMI

3 GB PC26400

Athlon X2 4800+

Dlink DWL-G520 Wireless

On Board Sound ALC883

Onboard NIC (Not sure not worried at the moment)

SB600 PATA Controller

XFX 7600GT 256MB (Natit Drivers)

1. The install takes forever as I realize the install dvd does not have DMA access for the SB600, but once its done the machine works fine. The audio works out of the box, and the wireless works on the first boot. The wireless works despite there is no airport associated with it, a reboot will disable this but I think I found a fix by following instructions earlier in this thread from xyme.

2. My biggest two problems are the fact that if I use the SB600 patch from dcat I have to use -f everytime the system boots (which is a real bummer), else the system will hang on "Waiting for boot source" (or whatever that error says.

3. The audio doesen't seem to work with any inputs do the Azalia drivers fix this?

4. The worst problem is my USB ports! If I have a device in when the system boots the ports will work fine, if I don't and i insert a USB stick or external hard drive, iPod whatever it doesn't even recognize it. Is this a known problem do I need to modify a .kext?

Any insight would be great because it seems pretty close to working, and i guess the 690G chipset is "somewhat" new.

Any insight?

Okay guys....I need some help here. I tried the Uphuck version, and it either kept looping a message (when I installed patches and drivers), or went to a plain white screen with the apple logo and spinny thing when I just did the base system. So, anyway, I decided to try the TubGirl release since it is specific to AMD, and I figured it may work better for my system. Well.....it didn't. Now I am getting the same problem with TubGirl as I did with the Uphuck one when I installed with drivers and patches. It tells gives me an error that says launchid: /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow port /dev/console exited abnormally: illegal instruction and it repeats over and over and over. Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? How do you fix it? Help anyone??

How about the DFI nForce4 Ultra's built-in AC97, the Realtek ALC655 6-channel audio codec. When enabled in BIOS, OS X reports it in system wide as AC97, but there is no sound in or out. Even System Profiler got nothing showing under Audio section. How to enable this audio chip?

yeah. i have the same problem too. Sleep dont work as well :)

this is working great just a few problems with the video resolution but I'll look for solutions and play but my question is I'm overclocking this and it sees both cpu's np just my overclock is high enough that vista won't even boot but this is running fine and hardly anyload on it at all does anyone know of a good temperature monitor that can be used just to keep my eye on it ??

pls pls pls help me with audio :-( i loaded this and i have a souncard (dunno which and cant seem find out) but it has via 82xx and no matter what appleac97audio kext i use it doesnt work

the sound comes each time i restart and turn on itunes and play the 1st song there is a sound for 1 sec and thats it..pls help no1 else seems to hv this problem :-(

EDIT- ok i followed the 15 step guide on wiki but still no luck..it seems my speakers are working i.e. when i increase the vol..there is that sound frm them the one which comes when the vol is very high but there is no input..

will i ever get sound :-(

Awesome, I found it somewhere else besides bs and it works great on my system. Just need to get some audio kexts and see if I can get a driver working with the 6100 so I'm not stuck at 1024x768, there are no drivers for my wireless card unfortunately acx100/111 family and I'm too far away from my router to run a wire, so I can't use osx for anything practical, the same thing when I tried vista though, no driver for my wireless which was as simple as reinstalling xp so whatever.

Everything with this release was great except for 2 things

No network and Bus speed is read wrong. Should be 1000mhz

Network I solved with IONetworking.kext from JaS 10.4.8

bus speed? I dunno not a major deal though

With tubgirl 10.4.8 i hadn´t any problem at all, but with this release the sound (ALC 850) and the QE/CI with my 1800XT don´t works, it´s very extrange because in the installation setup the files dedicated to ATI cards have the same size (8.4 MB), ¿maybe is a problem of the kernel?, any idea would be apreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Alex

I installed it successfully on my system (x2 4200+; nforce4) to a sata drive.

First installation didn´t work, the log reported errors with ati x1600 drivers. I disabled them and then the installation worked.

The installation process was a lot easier I expected it to be, huge thanks to all persons involved in this install-dvd!

Everything seems to work (nforce LAN & SATA), except for two very important things:

graphics: ATI X1600XT (71c0):

I have no idea what I have to do, I read a lot, for example the BorisBadenov guide, but the files mentioned doesn´t exist on my system. Everywhere I read about natit, what does it do and where can I download it?

What do I have to do to get it work?

Edit: I tried natit from the dvd, it shows up during boot, but it doesn´t work (1024x786 is the only available resolution)

sound: M-Audio Delta 2496 Audiophile (pci card):

I downloaded the driver, installed it, restarted, but when I open the included control panel now it tells me that either I do not have a supported card or the kernel extension is not loaded for some reason.

Any ideas how I can get the driver working?

Thanks,

Stefan
