What is the best update to install 10.4.10 on uphuck v1.4i?

I tried koolkal 10.4.10 update on uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3 and my system crashed. ;)

TOSHIBA SATELLITE A100-011

Intel 945PM Chipset

Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz 2MB 667Mhz

15.4" / 1280 x 800 / WXGA True-Bright

Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 256MB

1024MB 533Mhz

160GB 5400RPM 8MB

Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG 802.11a/b/g Entegre WLAN

+ Logitech V450 Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse

Wireless & bluetooth not working. Everything else is working great on v1.3 (can't wait to download v1.4i)

I just tried installing MS Office 2004 and it won't install. I can drag the folder to the apps folder but nothing works. Anyone get this to work prior to updating to 10.4.10? I thought 1.4i still had rosetta in it. That's disappointing.

hi everyone, v1.4i is on its usual place now, hoping this to be much better for the Intel family..

Well ... I notice that you didn't include the AppleAPIC and AppleMPIC kexts from 10.4.8, despite all the testing and feedback about the fact that the 1.3 distribution freezes for many users at the Buffers= statement immediately following the loading of the ACPI driver, *unless those 10.4.8 kexts are swapped in.*

Has something been done to the kernel or support files to mitigate this problem? What about AppleACPIPlatform.kext? A number of people needed to replace that, too, in the 1.3 distribution and I don't see a listing for it in your Demonoid post.

Are you saying that 1.4i should work on machines with older Intel chipsets without these files?

PS: What's the function of AppleSMBIOS.kext.netkas? Is this for use with a Netkas kernel not included on the 1.4i DVD or does it have some use with the kernel you included?

Thank carlos pombo. :P

i was not able to read your reply but i was able to make it work. i booted to my jas 10.4.6 then accessed the contents of the dvd. i started the installer package for the v1.4i main, rebooted my system again and it recognized the cd. i am trying to get the correct combination for my system. i did not install any patch or driver when i installed jas 10.4.6 but it seems different on this one. it just stops at the apple screen when i boot up. i will post again if i cant think of any solution to my problem. thanks again to uphuck!

Working greatly for Toshiba Satellite A105-S1013 with:

Intel Celeron M360 (1.6GHz)

ATI SB450 Chipset <----(VIA SATA/ATA)

ATI X200M <-----(Calisto 3)

Atheros AR5005G <----(Ralink wireless?)

DDR2 SDRAM 1.5G

SATA HD 60GB

Reltak(0861) high definition audio (working)

This is the first release I don't have to install go through external hard drive.

The internal SATA HD recognized perfectly during installation.

System very fast! Idle CPU usage <10%

Good Job, uphuck team!!!

I get a chain booting error in native. works wonderfully in vmware. help.

partition is primary and active, which is the general solution to that error everywhere around.

If you try Acronis Disk Selector in Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0, the problem may be solved.

If you try Acronis Disk Selector in Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0, the problem may be solved.

I used easyBCD and it still gave me the same error...anyways, arconis says the disk is of type 0xAF, everything's correct after searching the forums many times and still I get that error :D

I've installed this yesterday and: On desktop works fine, but I can see no difference from previous version(v1.3). Actualy, audio didn't work until applied azalia pkg from 1.3 DVD. The Taruga patch didn't do anything, and it use to work on Jas 10.4.8.

On laptop(FJS8100E), installed, but after boot I can see grey apple, then screen goes black, I have sound(intro music) and I see the mouse cursor, but that is all. I'll try reinstall later with different options. Any help would be appreciated. I'm still waiting for solutions on wireless 5006eg and Alc262. I heard that koolkal 10.4.10 solved the issue on wireless, but my systems crashed after installation, so.... still waiting.

PS With uphuck v1.3, realtek8139 didn't work. Detected, but remained red, as in no cable connection no matter what settings I tryed. On v1.4i, this problem was solved!

Many thanks to developers for their work, I like MAC, now I'm addicted, I can stand no vista and I really want this thing to work :D

Sorry, wrong selection at install on laptop.... Now it's working, but still no wireless and sound problems

Is the disk utility and the language problem corrected yet? Don't do all new stuff, correct the known errors first. If you can remove Rosetta an so on, it should be possible to repair these problems. Perhaps in 10.4.10...

This worked out of the box in my rig. ( same as v1.3) my specs are

Intel Pentium IV 2.4Ghz 1Mb cache (SS2)

512 MB DDR RAM

Nvidia Geforce FX5500 128MB RAM

Asus p4p800 se mainboard

Realtek 8139 fast ethernet nic

3com 3c740 Gigabit ethernet nic << not supported natively

Cmedia SoundMax ac'97 sound card ( builtin)

So, instalattion was straight forward, and faster than v1.3; responsiveness of the OS is visibly better than 1.3

Rosetta / X11 needs to be tested / installed < i havent checked yet

For "The Raton" the realtek 8139 worked natively without any drivers on v1.3; ( but if u installed the realtek 1000 patch in 1.3 it didnt get an IP address. I havent tested the patch in 1.41 coz i know that card will work without tat patch. Hope this clarifies that issue.

Thanks UPHUCK and other osx86 developers for the fantastic release. I got this downloaded at mere 3hrs !!! Thanks for seeding to all brothers and sisters outta here..

I used easyBCD and it still gave me the same error...anyways, arconis says the disk is of type 0xAF, everything's correct after searching the forums many times and still I get that error :)

You had better remove the wrong things ( ; ...)that are in boot.ini.

( boot.ini [right click] > properties > read only[uncheck] )

I have that problem. I was hoping that it would be included in this release :(

( 1st post :) )

Hi all,

these are some screenshots I took while trying to install uphuck v1.4i 10.4.9 on VMware Server on Ubuntu Linux:

first this is my .vmx ( that I used for Jas 10.4.8 ) if anyone is interested:

#!/usr/bin/vmware
  config.version = "8"
  virtualHW.version = "4"

checking the .iso:

# md5sum uphuck_10.4.9_v1.4i.iso
  d341f9f9c9bbefcea0ee9890bd65f78b uphuck_10.4.9_v1.4i.iso

no need to burn, notice the Use ISO image in this shot :(

installation went fast, but I was having some trouble...

after I changed a few things in the BIOS (VMware's BIOS)...

:D

:D:D:D

thank you all

EDIT: To anterior post... Taruga hda works just fine, something else was the problem: ME! So, once again, thanks Uphuck and all the others. I have a working mac!

One little thing, is there a way to get rid of that boot in verbose mode? I select it at install, but I dont like it, especialy that I don't make any use of it. Tks!

hi everyone, v1.4i is on its usual place now, hoping this to be much better for the Intel family..

Thanks Uphuck for your great work. Hope in a week time someone will post it on another network rather the normal place.

Keep the md5 code in secret 'til there will be a enough user's pool. Spreading the wealth...

cheers

FCS2 works perfectly with v1.4i and it accepted all the updates. I overcame the obstacle of no MS Office 2004 (I'm a heavy user of office) by adding MS Office 2007 to my Parallels virtual drive. Surprisingly, that works very well. Hopefully, I'll test CS3 on it later today to see if I need to revert to AppleSMBIOS v1.0.6 as I did in previous versions. So far, this looks like a winner for the Intel folks. Thanks again uphuck.

Thanks *uiphuck* Very stable and the install was fast.

Had to install to usb, then patch everything that was needed for the asrock 775Dual MoBo. Full working system.

EVERYONE STOP ASKING FOR THE TORRENT. Go to the Demonoid thread for invites !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Installed uphuck v. 1.4.

VIA Rhine Lan driver works, and several extra screen resolutions for AGP ATI X1600 card are now enabled.

Installed the Azalia Audio driver, but still only have left channel for the ALC655 onboard audio.

Note to uphuck: please include in next release: "AppleAC97Audio.zip" (search this forum).

Running System Update shows:

(besides the 10.4.10 update) Itunes, QT, and Security Update 2007-007; total ~93 Mb.

Selected only Security Update 2007-007, which installed without problem.

Installed and ran Monolingual, which cleared out about 273 Mb of non-English language files.

Rebooted, then attempted Koolkal 10.4.10 update, which on reboot, gives a crashed (continuously rebooting) system (see sig).

A lot of success installation posts... I can't believe i'm the only one who is having problems with the ACPI drivers.

ASUS G1S is my system. Won't even load the installation screen because it halts at the can't find ACPI driver error.

Any solutions?
