After a clean installation without any patch other than AppleSMBios and Verbose, all 8 SATA Working fine.

Global v1.4i_r3 running without issues as far as i see.

USB ports running but not detecting Spyder2 display calibration hardware. Fixed this by replacing AppleUSBEHCI.kext by orByte PCGenUSBEHCI.kext v2.7.0 (here hXXp://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=28559) and corresponding 10.4.9 IOUSBFamily.kext v270.4.1 at this place hXXp://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers/download/usbdebug.html.

Presume that i had to have USB patch checked at installation but i didn't and fixed this way.

Installed all my software without any issue.

I love MAIL so flipped in JaS 10.4.8 DVD navigated to mail pkg clicked twice and VOILÁ (easy for people claiming missing applications or languages)

I just installed Uphuck V1.4i R3, but when the installation is completed and i start up mac os, i see the apple logo and after that I see black and gray stripes all over the screen.

 

Sys specs:

Dell inspirion 6400/E1505

Intel core duo 2GHz

Ati Radeon mobility x1400 256MB

Ram 1GB

 

Could anyone help me ??

Carlos, glad to see you got yours up and running. I still think the Bad Axe 2 is the best board out there now for total compatibility for OSX86 10.4.x. And uphuck's 1.4iR3 seems to designed almost perfectly for this board. I have had several working installs of OSX86 so for those missing apps, I just copied them ahead of time from a working installation and dragged them into my apps directory. Easy with a little forethought.

 

My ideal external storage housing just became available for eSATA. It matches the internal one that I already have so now all 8 of my drives will be interchangeable.

Currently I'm dual booting. My idea is to make the external enclosure completely OSX and the internal backplane completely Windows. With each I can turn all drives off with flick of a button so in effect I'll have 2 complete systems in one with no worries about either system corrupting the other's drives. I'll let you know how that works out.

I just got in a new Spyder2 and my USB ports seem to be picking it up as it shows up under system profiler. However the software does not see the device. Is this the same problem you were having or was it that your usb hub did not see the device at all?

I tried installing this 10.4.9 on a P4P800 system and it doesn't work, so I'm going to try 10.4.8. Seems like maybe I selected the wrong options every time I install or this release just plain doesn't work with P4P800 motherboards. Hoping to install 10.4.8 and update to 10.4.9 then 10.4.10.

Has anybody found a solution for the Toast-8-not-starting bug ?

 

{edit} figured it out: it's the grafics drivers. Replaced all the NVidia/ Geforce + AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext 1.5x with the older ones 1.4.x with kext helper, and Toast starts again. Toast uses some Animation in its Window that does not run with AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer 1.5x (OpenGL?)

I got it to work on 10.4.8 JaS then updated to 10.4.9 using a tutorial on here. I found that the P4P800-VM board works better with onboard video, couldn't get my MSI 6600GT nvidia card to work well at all. Someone told me to try using the nvidia drivers in the uphuck release so I'm going to do that next. I'm impressed how fast it runs on a 2.4ghz P4P800-VM system, but I fear that once I have everything running properly it's just another unix box to me and I'll probably just venture back to vista. However I am very impressed with the GUI.

My Laptop display fails to assume and work with any display calibration or color icc profile.

I'm able to calibrate and output a profile using Spyder2 calibration tool. Happens that none of available profiles works. Changing profiles have no visual changes in display.

It is useless for photographic editing.

Using ATIRadeon9700 and koverge patch I can get CI & QE working, even Q2E with some occasional display refreshment square loses.

 

Can someone help me suggesting what to change or look for?

 

Seems to be something related with the way Graphics establish connection with Laptop display.

I just installed Uphuck (from my Jas 10.4.8 install) and when I start up my pc I get stuck at a login window. It's weird cause I don't have a password set. So I reinstalled 10.4.8 and upgraded but this time with password set. It still don't work. I tried installing a login window fix that came with the DVD. Why does this happen and how do I fix that?

I'm trying to run the installation cd 1.4i r3 on my hp 6324 and it wont load the setup. When i start the computer it comes up and prompts you to press any key to install when you do it comes up with a "system config file ' /library/preferences/systemconfiguration/apple.apple.bootplist' not found" error and loops going nowhere. Any clues or hints? I've tried enabling and disabling native SATA support, but that doesn't help any. Any help would be awesome guys! Thanks!

It's an open source driver that relies on a couple of other packages for functionality, but it's easy enough to select the appropriate helper apps from the relevant printer page. Your downloads/install will depend on your printer but the process is a doddle. Heck, even I can do it. ;-)

My advice to you is to go to UPhuck.com and post your questions there. You will get a tiely reply.With that said, Use a partition tool like Partition Magic or Acronis Disk Director (or even Grubb, do a google search) and make sure the partition you installed Mac in is both a primary partition, and Active (flagged bootable) 90% of the time when you get the message you got that is the problem.

I personally think that Partition Magic is the best tool for this. Grubb works but is a bit harder to get setup.
