well I just stuckUntitled.thumb.jpg.793888e925fdefbf226f7d262001b2cd.jpg the ssd-tpl0 right into dsdt and got exactly same error

When you get the "Couldn't alloc class 'AppleIntelPchSeriesAHCI" error, there is usually something earlier in the boot process that says whether it was unable to load kexts.  I can't tell much from the photo you posted.  However, I do see that you have a Synaptics trackpad and you have been trying to load the elan i2c kext.  I'm thinking that you just need to use the VoodooI2C.kext and the VoodooPS2Controller.kext with no other I2C kexts and no SSDT for TPL0.  Also, make sure that both kexts are the most recent so that you don't have any conflict with the VoodooInput.kext that is a plug-in for both of the other Voodoo kexts.

@eSaF

I've now tried Chris1111's Wireless-USB-Big-Sur-Adapter on both machines and it gets rid of Preboot and reverts to the correct name.

No Startup disk showing though on either Hacks, or real Macs iMac 13,2 or Macbook Pro 2017.

So that looks really broken in beta3!

I updated Big Sur Beta 2 —————> Big Sur Beta 3 on my X299 Gigabyte UD4 System ( Finaly )

The installation process went smoothly in four stage.

No improvement or other bug as reported here and in comparison on my AMD X570 system.

I used the same EFI OC 6.0.0 as for Beta 2.

Now a humorous thing :

In France, here in Chartreuse we also have our Big Sur named Grande Sure

Look : :)

Hi guys. I successfully installed beta 3 from usb. I just finally got my dw 1560 wifi using oc latest along with latest kexts. The odd thing is using airportbrcmfixup makes my keyboard stop working. Ive got a S405UA-EB906T:

Intel Core i5 7200U
Intel HD Graphics 620
8gb DDR4
Elan touchpad
conexant 8150
Not sure i need to include efi folder or not?

Without the airportbrcmfixup kext, keyboard works but wifi icon is grey and just says 'trun on' under settings but cant change anything.

Well now I have new bugs... my clock stops working and only stays correct if I go to system preferences hour and date... yuckkk BS beta 3 is the first beta that gave me so many problems...  ...

PS: i have a real Mac mini 2018 at work and tomorrow is my day of working, and I'll verify that...

Oh ok!!! - On a negative note, I must say I am happy to hear the no Startup Disk is also a bug on real Macs, thanks for the post. default_thumbsup_anim.gif

I forgot to add my disk is now showing up at the Boot Menu as I named it - 'macOS Big Sur' - after a few reboots.

My disk is still named Preboot I’ve rebooted and restarted numerous times. Beta 4 should be out soon and hopefully that will rectify it.

defaults write com.apple.menuextra.clock IsAnalog -bool false

defaults write com.apple.menuextra.clock DateFormat -string "EEE d MMM HH:mm"

defaults write com.apple.menuextra.clock FlashDateSeparators -bool true && killall SystemUIServer

The easiest way to have the Name of SSD Big Sur on boot OC is installed this software https://github.com/chris1111/Wireless-USB-Big-Sur-Adapter

Release here https://github.com/chris1111/Wireless-USB-Big-Sur-Adapter/releases/tag/V3 even if you have working native wifi ,this software rebuild Preboot Volume.

Install then Allow Realtek in security before reboot .

Reboot and you see your drive name :) after reboot uninstall the software simple as that

See spoiler

Can anyone confirm that vsmcgen=1 not needed?

Apparently download the latest commit of OC, Lilu, WEG & ALC but Catalina was able to boot w/o vsmcgen=1, however, BS Beta3 cannot boot w/o vsmcgen=1.

Anyone able to assists?

Event though I'm on a Ryzen system, I compiled the latest commit yesterday and removed vsmcgen=1. It works perfectly for me.
