Hi guys,

 

Anyone else getting KP (and reboot) after waking from sleep with AMD RX cards (such as RX 580, possibly other AMD cards, as well) with Catalina Beta 2? I don't remember having this issue with Beta 1, but I might have missed it. And of course, no such issue with Mojave.

 

I'm getting this after reboot:

How do i implement Power Management on Sandy Bridge Platform, i have a Lenovo B570e with i5 2410m, everything working including graphics thanks to @chris1111

But the problem is that the SSDT for power management is not working on Mojave/Catalina.

 

Any hints, do i need to add a kext from High Sierra or is there a patch/workaround for that ?

All is OK with RX 580 on my side.

Well, then I guess there has to be something on my side... I just can't figure out what. It works perfectly fine with Mojave.

If you disabled SIP using 0x3E7 value in CsrActiveConfig in config.plist, you can patch it.

Or in Terminal:

sudo mount -uw /

killall Finder

The above solved my ALC-1150 & HDMI/DP audio with old version of AppleHDA.kext(281.51) in Z87 & Z97 hackintoshs.

Quick question: are you using HDMI or DP with your RX 580? We're using the exact same card, so I think there is either something wrong somewhere else, that I couldn't figure out yet. Oooor....there's something I've missed, that made all the difference. I made a clean install of Beta 2 and got the exact same issue... But now I just noticed the error specifically mentions DP:

AppleHDAHDMI_DPDriver::setPowerState(0xffffff801e31b800 : 0xffffff7f83d87730, 0 -> 1

So I'm guessing this could be specific to DP...maybe?

I have a Toshiba external drive on the USB port, I have a Install USB on another USB port, but Catalina does not show me correctly their icons.

 

Can this be repaired?

You're not the only one. Right now, I would say this looks like a bug with Catalina, and I think it will be fixed with future updates. It's not really a big issue to me. So, if you're not in a hurry, maybe wait for the next updates and see if the issue gets fixed.

Yes it works, as i said above, no more Lapic panics, boots 10.15.0.19A487l correctly.

 

No problems anymore

 

Also, can anyone post the fakesmc.kext that boots Catalina.

Does the Mojave version boot the Catalina or is there a new one available.

fakesmc.kext is the same that MOJAVE
