  1. Installing macOS Catalina 10.15.4 on Asus VivoBook S400CA There are several versions of this laptop. These are the versions I've seen so far: - S400CA-BRA-CA206H = i3-2375M with ALC269VB - S400CA-BRA-CA178H = i5-3317U with VT1802P I believe that all models are practically identical except the variations i3 and i5 that have particularities, because one is Sandy Bridge platform and another Ivy Bridge. Changelog: 03/24/2019 20:35h GMT-0 - Added update 10.15.4 instructions. 12/11/2019 04:35h GMT-0 - Added update 10.15.2 instructions. 11/11/2019 04:41h GMT-0 - Merged Core i3 and i5 config.plist. Same SMBIOS now. Core i3 version need to remove: Devices - Properties - PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0). - Just one USBPorts.kext now, since SMBIOS are same. 11/10/2019 20:41h GMT-0 - Updated USB 3.0 injection. (Removed USBInjectAll.kext and SSDT-UIAC.aml and added USBPorts.kext) - Replaced AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext with version 2.3.0 RELEASE. (Previously was DEBUG build) 11/10/2019 00:22h GMT-0 - Added Battery's DSDT patch. - Fixed USB 3.0. Common- Chipset: Intel HM76 -> Work.- HDMI -> Work. - VGA -> Not work. Normal. - WiFi/Bluetooth: Intel AC 3160 -> Not work. Replaced with DW1560 / AW-CE123H. - Ethernet: Intel AR8161 -> Work. - Card Reader: Unknow -> Not work. - Keyboard and Touchpad -> Work. - FN keyboards keys -> Not work yet.- Webcam -> Work. - Battery -> Work. - Touch screen -> Not work. - USB3.0 -> Work.- Sleep -> Work. - Airdrop, Handoff and Continuity -> Work after replaced wireless. - Instant Hotspot -> Not work even after replaced wireless. Todo - Make earphone work in Core i3 version. - Fix FN keyboard keys. - Convert DSDT patches to hotpatch. - Make touch screen work. - Make card reader work. - Make trackpad appear in System Preferences What you need to install- Running install of macOS- One USB flash drive of 8GB or bigger- macOS Catalina install app- Clover EFI - Clover Configurator - Some KEXTs and SSDT patchesHow create create the install flash drive Prepare install flash drive Format the flash drive with GUID partition mapping and name it "Install".- Open Disk Utility.- Click in View, then "Show All Devices".- Select the destination flash drive, then Erase.- Name: Install, Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and Scheme: GUID Partition Map Create install flash driveOpen terminal and run this command: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Install --nointeraction This will take about 30 minutes. Install bootloaderDownload the CloverEFI from official repository (used 5098) and install only with these options on "Install macOS Catalina": - Install for UEFI booting only- Install Clover in the ESP- UEFI Drivers - Recommended Drivers - FSInject (I still don't know if it's really necessary) - UEFI Drivers - File System drivers - ApfsDriverLoader (Support to APFS partitions) - UEFI Drivers - File System drivers - VBoxHfs (Support HFS/HFS+ partitions) - UEFI Drivers - Memory fix drivers - AptioMemoryFix (Fix the memory management of de UEFI/BIOS) - UEFI Drivers - Additional drivers - CsmVideoDxe FileVault 2 If you plan to use FileVault 2, you need to download additional drivers, since what comes with Clover is not up to date and use VirtualSMC instead of FakeSMC. Follow instructions bellow: From current Clover installation, check these options to USB keyboard/mouse work on password screen: - UEFI Drivers - Human Interface Devices - UsbKbDxe - UEFI Drivers - Human Interface Devices - UsbMouseDxe After Clover install will be created a partition named EFI and mounted in Desktop. Usually the path is /Volumes/EFI/. Download the versions 2.1.0 and 2.0.9 of AppleSupportPkg from: https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleSupportPkg/releases We need the last version of AppleGenericInput.efi that is inside 2.1.0 and last version of AppleUiSupport.efi that is inside 2.0.9. OR download attached bellow. Put in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/drivers/UEFI/ That's it! FileVault 2 will work without problems. Make things works After Clover install will be created a partition named EFI and mounted in Desktop. Usually the path is /Volumes/EFI/. - Replace the /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist with mine attached below according to your processor version. - Put all SSDT-*.aml attached below in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/ Generate your Serial, MLB and SmUUID - Open the replaced config.plist with Clover Configurator (used 5.7.0.0) - Go to SMBIOS, click few times in "Generate New" in Serial Number and SmUUID. Core i3 version: - Go to Devices - Properties. - Remove: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0). Core i5 version: - Remove: /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/SSDT-PWR.aml Copy the Clover Configurator to flash drive because you will need later. Download those Kexts and put in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/ - Download the VirtualSMC.kext, SMCProcessor.kext, SMCBatteryManager.kext and UEFI driver (put VirutalSmc.efi inside /Volumes/EFI/EFI/drivers/UEFI/). I used the version 1.0.9. - Download the Lilu.kext from here. I used the version 1.3.9. - Download the VoodooPS2Controller.kext from here. I used version 2.0.4. - Download the AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext from here. I used the version 2.3.0 compiled from source (attached below), but the release 2.2.2 works too. - Download the AppleALC.kext from here. I used the version 1.4.3. - Download the WhateverGreen.kext from here. I used the version 1.3.4. - Download the USBPorts.kext attached bellow to properly inject USBs. Keyboard swap Command with Option (optional) - If you prefer, you can swap Command and Option keys, to map Win Key - Command and Alt - Option. - Change /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/OEM/S400CA/UEFI/kexts/10.15/VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext/Contents/Info.plist: <key>Swap command and option</key> <true/> to: <key>Swap command and option</key> <false/> Or, download the version 2.0.4 already adjusted attached bellow. Wifi and Bluetooth (DW1560 / AW-CE123H) After replaced the wireless card. Download those Kexts and put in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.15/ - Download the AirportBrcmFixup.kext from here. I used the version 2.0.4. (To enable Wireless) - Download the BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext, BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM3.kext from here. I used the version 2.5.0. (To enable Bluetooth) - Download the BT4LEContinuityFixup.kext from here. I used the version 1.1.4. (To enable Handoff and Continuity) Keep in mind that the bluetooth kexts are currently in development and the official releases will be available in future in the repository: https://github.com/acidanthera/BrcmPatchRAM/releases Now you can start the installation without problem (I guess). How install UEFI Setup Configuration and InstallationUEFI configuration My BIOS is the latest: 210 - Shutdown and insert the flash drive.- Power on with F2 pressed to enter BIOS setup.- Change value: Advanced - Intel Virtualization Technology to DISABLED - Change value: Advanced - Intel(R) Anti-Theft Technology Configuration to DISABLED - Save & Exit Setup (F10) - Now, hold the ESC - In the list, select your flash drive. - Choose the flash drive (white icon). The installer will start. Format destination diskFormat the disk with GUID partition mapping and name it "Macintosh".- Select Disk Utility in the list, then press Continue.- Click in View, then "Show All Devices".- Select the destination Disk, then Erase.- Name: HD, Format: APFS and Scheme: GUID Partition MapClose Disk Utility.Select "Install macOS", then Continue.Follow instructions in screen.After installAfter first part install the system will reboot. Maybe you have to press ESC again and select the flash drive. Choose the internal disk (gray hdd icon) if not already selected. The second part of the installation will begin. This will take 16 minutes. Post installation Bootloader When the second part of install finish, the system will reboot again.After performing the user initial setup and go to the desktop, you need to make the system disk bootable.Open the Clover Configurator from flash drive that you copied before.Mount and open the flash drive EFI partition. (Inside Clover Configurator, Mount EFI -> Select flash drive in Efi Partitions list -> Mount Partition -> Open Partition) Copy the EFI folder to desktop. Go back to Clover Configurator, unmount the EFI partition of the flash drive and mount and open the EFI partition of internal disk. Move the EFI folder from Desktop to EFI partition of the internal disk. Eject the flash drive. Move all Kexts from EFI partition of internal disk to /Library/Extensions and make kext cache, with those commands in Terminal: sudo mv -R /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.15/* /Library/Extensions/ sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Extensions sudo kextcache -i / Restart the system. If you go directly to BIOS you have to add Clover entry manually: - Go to "Boot" and press "Add New Boot Option". - Select "Add boot option", write CLOVER and press Enter. - In "Select Filesystem", choose the option that contains "HD". Like "PCI(1F|2)\DevicePath(Type 3, SubType 12)HD(Part1,Sig2a0127c1-ea5d-44d3-8967-57e59c1f0e3b)". - Select "Path for boot option", write EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.efi and press Enter. - Select "Create" and press enter. - Go to "Save & Exit" and select "Save Changes and Exit". Intel HD 3000 - Core i3 version only If you have the i3 version with HD 3000 iGPU you have to do an additional step: - Download latest Legacy Video Patch from: https://github.com/chris1111/Legacy-Video-patch/releases - Always use the version compatible with your current Catalina build! - Run the installer and reboot. - Graphics acceleration now works. But you'll have some rare artifacts because of lack support of Metal. Battery, USB & Sleep DSDT patch First we need dump current DSDT/SSDT tables: - Restart. - On Clover menu, press F4 to dump. - Select internal disk and start normally. Prepare files: - Open the Clover Configurator from flash drive that you copied before.- Mount and open the internal disk EFI partition. (Inside Clover Configurator, Mount EFI -> Select internal disk in Efi Partitions list -> Mount Partition -> Open Partition) - Navigate to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/origin/. - Copy DSDT.aml to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/. - You'll have DSDT.aml, SSDT-EC.aml, SSDT-PWR.aml (if Core i3 version) and SSDT-PNLF.aml in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/. Apply patches to DSDT.aml: - Download the MacIASL from here. I used the version 2018-0507. - Open the DSDT.aml from patched/ with MacIASL. - Click in "Patch" button. - Paste and "Apply" each patches below. Download the versions 2.1.0 and 2.0.9 of AppleSupportPkg from: https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleSupportPkg/releases We need the last version of AppleGenericInput.efi that is inside 2.1.0 and last version of AppleUiSupport.efi that is inside 2.0.9. OR download attached bellow. Put in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/drivers/UEFI/ That's it! FileVault 2 will work without problems. Make things works After Clover install will be created a partition named EFI and mounted in Desktop. Usually the path is /Volumes/EFI/. - Replace the /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist with mine attached below according to your processor version. - Put all SSDT-*.aml attached below in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/ Generate your Serial, MLB and SmUUID - Open the replaced config.plist with Clover Configurator (used 5.8.0.0) - Go to SMBIOS, click few times in "Generate New" in Serial Number and SmUUID. Copy the Clover Configurator to flash drive because you will need later. Download those Kexts and put in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/ - Download the VirtualSMC.kext, SMCProcessor.kext, SMCSuperIO.kext and UEFI driver (put VirutalSmc.efi inside /Volumes/EFI/EFI/drivers/UEFI/). I used the version 1.0.9. - Download the Lilu.kext from here. I used the version 1.3.9. - Download the WhateverGreen.kext from here. I used the version 1.3.4. - Download the AppleALC.kext from here. How install UEFI Setup Configuration and InstallationUEFI configuration My BIOS is F10 (I use an 8th generation processor, so I don't need to upgrade) You can configure manually or load my BIOS profile. Manually: - Shutdown and insert the flash.- Power on with DEL pressed to enter BIOS setup.- Change value: BIOS - CSM Support to Disabled- Change value: BIOS - Secure Boot to Disabled- Change value: Peripherals - Initial Display to IGP- Change value: Chipset - VT-d to DISABLE- Change value: Chipset - Internal Graphics to ENABLE- Save & Exit Setup or, BIOS profile You can use one of my BIOS profiles attached bellow. It's two versions. One stock (Geekbench 4: 5840/27384) and another with overclock [5.0 GHz] (Geekbench 4: 6360/30348) - Put the profile in the root of the flash drive at EFI partition. - Restart with DEL pressed to enter BIOS setup. - Go to Save & Exit. - Select Load Profiles. - Select last option and then the flasdrive in the list. - And finally choose MACOS_STOCK or MACOS_5GHZ. - Save & Exit Setup Then: - Now, hold the F12 - In the list, select your flash drive. - Choose the flash drive (white icon). The installer will start.  Format destination diskFormat the disk with GUID partition mapping and name it "Macintosh".- Select Disk Utility in the list, then press Continue.- Click in View, then "Show All Devices".- Select the destination Disk, then Erase.- Name: HD, Format: APFS and Scheme: GUID Partition MapClose Disk Utility.Select "Install macOS", then Continue.Follow instructions in screen.After installAfter first part install the system will reboot. Maybe you have to press ESC again and select the flash drive. Choose the internal disk (gray hdd icon) if not already selected. The second part of the installation will begin. This will take 16 minutes. Post installation Bootloader When the second part of install finish, the system will reboot again.After performing the user initial setup and go to the desktop, you need to make the system disk bootable.Open the Clover Configurator from flash drive that you copied before.Mount and open the flash drive EFI partition. (Inside Clover Configurator, Mount EFI -> Select flash drive in Efi Partitions list -> Mount Partition -> Open Partition) Copy the EFI folder to desktop. Go back to Clover Configurator, unmount the EFI partition of the flash drive and mount and open the EFI partition of internal disk. Move the EFI folder from Desktop to EFI partition of the internal disk. Eject the flash drive. Move all Kexts from EFI partition of internal disk to /Library/Extensions and make kext cache, with those commands in Terminal: sudo mv -R /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.15/* /Library/Extensions/ sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Extensions sudo kextcache -i / Restart the system.   4. Ragazzi, sto provando ad installare sulla mia ASUS P5QL-PRO, Catalina al momento in versione 10.15.3. Le specs della mia MB: MB: ASUS P5QL PRO (BIOS rev: 0902) CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 (con supporto a SSE4.1 verificato) GPU: nVidia GeForce 9600GT Archiviazione: SSD 480 con sistema installato in APFS Clover 5000k in modalità Legacy Flags usati: -v dart=0 nv_disable=1 Siccome avevo problemi nella seconda fase dell'installazione (terminava correttamente ma al riavvio ricominciava, creando cosi un loop infinito) usando sia una DISTRO sia con una Vanilla stesso esito, ho eseguito l'installazione tramite HDD USB su un vero Mac. Quindi, ho poi installato Clover e i kext necessari all'avvio dell'Hackintosh, ho dato una ripulita al file config e settato il SMBIOS. ALLEGATA cartella EFI in basso con i relativi kext che ho installato, tra cui avevo messo Lilu e il VirtualSMC, poi li ho rimossi e provato con il classico FakeSMC ma sempre stesso risultato. Solo che quando tento l'avvio, in modalità verbosa, ma va in Kernel Panic dopo poco, documentato nel video: EFI. P5QL-PRO 10.15.zip
  5. Since the Catalina beta 9, FileVault takes about 3 minutes to request the password. I am currently in a final version 19A602 and the problem continues. If anyone can take a look, I have attached "gen_debug" before and after disabling FileVault. I noticed that if I boot in verbose, the login screen takes the same time, but at left o screen a lot of lines pop up: ERROR: LWSmcUINT8ForKey smcProtocol-> SmcReadValue failed for key '... Important: In attachments the Kexts are in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.15/ but the behavior in /Library/Extensions is the same. Important 2: Tried without UsbKbDxe.efi, UsbMouseDxe.efi, Ps2MouseDxe.efi and same issue.   6. Hi. I got Catalina on mine to work fully with an important issue. this is my spec: MB: MSI x399 Meg creation CPU: AMD 2990WX RAM: 64GB cosair veangeance GPU: Radeon7 All these works perfectly. Except I have an Intel 550T2 10GBps pci card that I need working for my projects. so far I got the internal Intel I211 working using Smalltree kext. But X550T2 doesnt list in PCI device list and also not in ethernet. for 550 T2 I tried smalltree8259x.kext. And tried it with FakePCIID and FakePCIID_intel_GbX in kext folder. I read that I should move these 3 kexts into L/E S/L/E. But with catalina, it seems there is no proper way to do this.  can someone enlighten me?

I initially had problems with overheating. The processor ran at full load above 90 degrees. After using a quality thermal paste I can work between 70 and 80 degrees. Acceptable taking into consideration that the new processor has 47TDP versus 37TDP which is recommended. I also had no problem consuming the battery while charging. The original 65W source seems to have figured out. - Touchpad upgrade: Replaced the stock with T460 touchpad. This is serious: you have to do it! It should be stock. Follow instructions bellow: From current Clover installation, check these options to USB keyboard/mouse work on password screen: - UEFI Drivers - Human Interface Devices - UsbKbDxe - UEFI Drivers - Human Interface Devices - UsbMouseDxe After Clover install will be created a partition named EFI and mounted in Desktop. Usually the path is /Volumes/EFI/. Download the versions 2.1.0 and 2.0.9 of AppleSupportPkg from: https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleSupportPkg/releases We need the last version of AppleGenericInput.efi that is inside 2.1.0 and last version of AppleUiSupport.efi that is inside 2.0.9. OR download attached bellow. Put in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/drivers/UEFI/ That's it! FileVault 2 will work without problems. Make things works After Clover install will be created a partition named EFI and mounted in Desktop. Usually the path is /Volumes/EFI/. - Replace the /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist with mine attached below - Put SSDT-L440.aml attached below in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/ Generate your Serial, MLB and SmUUID - Open the replaced config.plist with Clover Configurator (used 5.6.2.0) - Go to SMBIOS, click few times in "Generate New" in Serial Number and SmUUID. Copy the Clover Configurator to flash drive because you will need later. Download those Kexts and put in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/ - Download the VirtualSMC from here. I used all Kexts and UEFI driver (put VirutalSmc.efi inside /Volumes/EFI/EFI/drivers/UEFI/) from version 1.0.8 (If you followed the steps to enable FileVault 2 above, skip to the next item). - Download the Lilu.kext from here. I used the version 1.3.8. - Download the VoodooPS2Controller.kext from here. I used version 2.0.4. - Download the IntelMausi.kext from here. I used the version 1.0.2. - Download the VoodooHDA.kext from here. I used the version 2.9.2. (Need to turn up the volume on Info.plist, more instructions below) - Download the WhateverGreen.kext from here. I used the version 1.3.3. - Download the USBInjectAll.kext from here. Wifi and Bluetooth (BCM94360CS2 + M2 NGFF adapter) Recently I replaced the DW1560 with BCM94360CS2. Now I have fully wireless and bluetooth working (including Instant Hotspot) without any kexts. See: Wifi and Bluetooth (DW1560 / BCM94352Z) Unfortunately, some notebook manufacturers are currently blocking the replacement of wireless cards. They want you to only use the models sold by them. And of course, none of them from Lenovo for this notebook model is compatible with MacOS. If you try to start with an unauthorized wifi card for them, you will receive a screen error: 1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the network card. Since this check is done directly in the BIOS, the only solution is to modify it. But since nothing is easy in this life, there is one small big problem: - The BIOS update procedure does not allow you to use modded files as it used to be. - You will need to physically reach your BIOS on the motherboard and make use of a USB BIOS reader/writer. So what you need to do: 1. Disassembly your laptop; 2. Dump your BIOS with an USB BIOS reader with SOIC8 clip (to not desolder from the motherboard); 3. Patch it (Ask on UEFI hack forums over there to someone patch for you. Every dump is unique, so mine don't work to you.); 4. Fix RSA signature; 5. Reflash BIOS; 6. Replace wireless card; 7. Remount your laptop; 8. Done. To fix a Modded BIOS to remove the 5 beeps on boot, you need this guide: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337333-guide-fix-insyde-h2o-bios-signature-5-beeps-on-lenovo (traduzido: pt-BR) After replaced the wireless card. Download those Kexts and put in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.15/ - Download the AirportBrcmFixup.kext from here. I used the version 2.0.3. (To enable Wireless) - Download the BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext, BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM3.kext from here. I used the version 2019-10-17. (To enable Bluetooth) - Download the BT4LEContinuityFixup.kext from here. I used the version 1.1.4. (To enable Handoff and Continuity) Keep in mind that the bluetooth kexts are currently in development and the official releases will be available in future in the repository: https://github.com/acidanthera/BrcmPatchRAM/releases Now you can start the installation without problem (I guess). How install UEFI Setup Configuration and InstallationUEFI configuration My BIOS is the latest: 1.93 (J4ET93WW) - Shutdown and insert the flash drive.- Power on with F1 pressed to enter BIOS setup.- Change value: Config - Intel(R) AMT - Intel(R) AMT Control to DISABLED - Change value: Security - Security Chip to DISABLED - Change value: Security - Anti-Theft - Intel(R) AT Module Activation to DISABLED - Change value: Security - Anti-Theft - Computrace to DISABLED - Change value: Security - Secure Boot to DISABLED - Change value: Startup - UEFI/Legacy Boot to BOTH, Legacy First and CSM Support = Yes - Save & Exit Setup (F10) - Now, hold the F12 - In the list, select your flash drive. - Choose the flash drive (white icon). The installer will start. Format destination diskFormat the disk with GUID partition mapping and name it "Macintosh".- Select Disk Utility in the list, then press Continue.- Click in View, then "Show All Devices".- Select the destination Disk, then Erase.- Name: HD, Format: APFS and Scheme: GUID Partition MapClose Disk Utility.Select "Install macOS", then Continue.Follow instructions in screen.After install After first part install the system will reboot. Maybe you have to press F12 again and select the flash drive. Choose the internal disk (gray hdd icon) if not already selected. The second part of the installation will begin. This will take 16 minutes. Post installation When the second part of install finish, the system will reboot again.After performing the user initial setup and go to the desktop, you need to make the system disk bootable.Open the Clover Configurator from flash drive that you copied before.Mount and open the flash drive EFI partition. (Inside Clover Configurator, Mount EFI -> Select flash drive in Efi Partitions list -> Mount Partition -> Open Partition) Copy the EFI folder to desktop. Go back to Clover Configurator, unmount the EFI partition of the flash drive and mount and open the EFI partition of internal disk. Move the EFI folder from Desktop to EFI partition of the internal disk. Eject the flash drive. Move all Kexts from EFI partition of internal disk to /Library/Extensions and make kext cache, with those commands in Terminal: sudo mv -R /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.15/* /Library/Extensions/ sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Extensions sudo kextcache -i / Restart the system. It's done! System Updates 10.15.1 Updated without changing or updating anything. 10.15.2 Before install, update the following kexts: - VirtualSMC.kext and all kexts and VirtualSmc.efi. I used version 1.0.9. - Lilu.kext. I used version 1.4.0. - WhateverGreen.kext. I used version 1.3.5. - AppleALC.kext. I used version 1.4.4. - VoodooPS2Controller.kext. I used version 2.1.0. (all download links above) Download the latest CLOVERX64.efi.zip build. I used version 5100. With VoodoPS2Controller it's working, but you'll have no gestures (neither scrolling). Before updating to a new version of Catalina please update kexts (and clover if necessary) to newer versions to avoid kernel panics. Generate a serial number with Clover Configurator.app (open up your config.plist with CC then -> SMBIOS -> Serial Number -> Generate New) Catalina & Windows 10 Dual-Boot: Dual-boot clean install (on one drive), UEFI Only: Boot into your Mac installer, Create 2 partitions in GUID table (1 for Win (I used FAT32 but I think it doesn't matter what you choose), 1 for Mac), Install Mac, boot with your USB, mount your EFI partition (use terminal or an EFI mounter app), create an EFI folder (if there is no folder), copy the CLOVER folder I attached to the EFI folder, restart, Boot into your Win installer, Format the partition you created for Win, install. Now, it's automatically booting into Windows. To use Clover open cmd in administrator, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi 5. You're done! It will booting into Clover when you start the system, and you can select Win or Mac (or another OS if installed on a 3rd partition). Dual-boot with Windows installed first (on one drive), UEFI Only: If you already have Windows and you don't want to lose all your data there is a hope: I created a video from this restore method: [Hackintosh] Dual-Boot High Sierra & Windows - when Windows already installed - no data waste - UEFI You need bootable Mac Installer and a full system restore image (link is in my video's description). (You may see errors if your EFI partition is not 200 MB) Boot into your Windows, resize your partition or create one for Mac. Boot into your Mac installer and in Disk Utility format the partition you created. Restore from image: select your full system restore image. When it's finished restoring you just need to restart, then boot to the system with your usb. When you successfully booted to Mac desktop, mount your EFI partition (use terminal or an EFI mounter app), open EFI, you will see there is a Microsoft folder already (don't touch that!). Copy my CLOVER folder to the EFI folder then Restart. Now, it's automatically booting into Windows. To use Clover open cmd in administrator, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi 7. You're done! You can select your old Windows and your new macOS! (Only tried with Windows 8/8.1/10. I don't know Windows 7,etc.) IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING MAC RESTORE: - Make sure you have partitions in GPT - Windows using 100 MB EFI and will annoy the Mac restore. Don't worry, just ignore the errors. IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING WINDOWS INSTALLATION (could not be formatted, etc): - Make sure you have GPT partitions, and GPT (UEFI) installer, also disconnect all external storage drives (except the installer USB) IF YOU USED RESTORE METHOD THEN CAN'T MOUNT YOUR EFI PARTITION (No EFI partition found): - It's because your EFI is not 200 MB or not an "Apple" original EFI, but do not worry, try another EFI mounter, or mount from terminal (I used EFI mounter v3: Getting errors, but you can mount and use without problem) - You also could "mount" the EFI from Windows: 1st method: open cmd in administrator mode and type: diskpart list vol (Now select the "System" volume,(FAT 32) For example I select 4) sel vol 4 list part (Select System type partition, for example 2) sel part 2 assign letter=b (This will "mount" your EFI partition) Open Explorer++ or TotalCommander in administrator mode to manage EFI remove letter=b (This will "unmount" your EFI) 2nd method: open cmd in administrator mode and type: mountvol b: /s (This will mount your EFI) Open Explorer++ or TotalCommander in administrator mode to manage EFI mountvol b: /d (This will unmount your EFI) Thanks to all OSXLatitude members for helping me out! Patch Catalina or Mojave macOS Installer App for Unsupported Machines Often for economic reasons, Apple prevents the Installer.app for its latest macOS from installing on older machines perfectly capable of running it eg macOS 10.14 Mojave on Unsupported Macs Thread. In Mojave 10.14, @ASentientBot posted a method to patch the distribution file in OSInstall.mpkg to enable the Mojave installer to install on unsupported machines (with or without graphics card metal support). In Catalina 10.15beta, the above method no longer works since Apple is checking OSInstall.mpkg for its file signature and the mandatory requirement in Catalina to install to 2 separate apfs volumes necessitates using the original Catalina macOS Base System Installer. Fortunately, it is still possible to substitute High Sierra’s Apple Signed OSInstall.mpkg inside the Catalina or Mojave InstallESD.dmg by making it R/W. The procedure below will allow Macs or Hacks able to install High Sierra to also install Catalina or Mojave (eg SMBIOS MacPro5,1, iMac11,3, MacBook Pro7,1 which have been unsupported in macOS 10.14.x and 10.15beta) -credit to @ASentientBot's post. Prerequisites 1. Mac or Hack capable of and running High Sierra 10.13.x 2. An original, untouched copy of OSInstall.mpkg from High Serra InstallESD.dmg - attached OSInstall_10.13.6.mpkg.zip save to your ~/Downloads folder 3. macOS Installer App eg for Catalina beta or Mojave downloaded to /Applications 4. Add NVRAM boot arg (or Clover config.plist boot arg on a hack) -no_compat_check to enable system to boot to final completed Mojave or Catalina install. Procedure 1. Open Terminal and type the following open /Applications/Install*/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg (assuming the Catalina or Mojave Installer App is in /Applications) 2. Open Disk Utility, click File|New Image|Image from ‘InstallESD” 3. Save as read/write image, no encryption in /Applications 4. Unmount InstallESD in DU by clicking the "eject" icon next to it 5. Open the R/W InstallSD.dmg in /Applications and replace Catalina’s/Mojave's OSInstall.mpkg with High Sierra’s version by typing in terminal open /Applications/InstallESD.dmg cp ~/Downloads/OSInstall_10.13.6.mpkg /Volumes/InstallESD/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg 6. Unmount InstallESD in DU by clicking the "eject" icon next to it 7. Replace original Catalina/Mojave InstallESD.dmg with our patched one, making a backup of the original.   17. So... Here we go again with a new version of macOS and so far I haven't been able to get it booted in VMware Workstation, just curious if anyone else has either. Same old instructions to create a working bootable ISO function (same as Mojave but change the name of the installer app obviously). It won't boot past the Apple logo, can't boot into safe mode, or recovery either. Made several attempts so far to upgrade a clean Mojave VM using the Catalina installer app, still no joy on the reboot, it just hangs on the Apple logo with zero activity (no hard drive, network, nothing at all). Of course Apple has made some changes, so now begins the troubleshooting and scoping out what's changed and how to work around it and get this thing up and running for some mucking around. I suppose this would be a good thread to discuss all this in so, we'll see what happens. ;)
