Thanks @glasgood! However, yesterday I've updated from macOS 10.14.4 to 10.14.5 and now I have a problem. When booting the progress bar underneath the apple logo gets to around 75 percent, but then my monitor loses signal. It takes 20 - 30 seconds before the monitor gets a new signal with the login screen being shown. Other than this everything works perfect. My system specs are: Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO Processor: Intel Core i7-9700K Graphics: IGPU (UHD630) RAM: 16 GB Storage: SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series SMBIOS: iMac18,1 Do you guys know, what the problem could be? Of course the Framebuffer patches are in my config.plist, I didn't change anything there before or after updating to 10.14.5. Oh, and something funny I've noticed: Since updating to 10.14.5 in the About this Mac section it says I have a 3,6 GHz Intel Core i9, but as you can see in my specs list, it's an i7. I guess that comes from the new iMacs not having a 9th gen i7 but an i9 instead. Hi, not sure what is causing monitor to lose signal briefly. Maybe updating to latest Clover version could resolve this. You could try testing SMBIOS 19,1. To correct cpu type: 4 hours ago, AudioGod said: Ah yes the white mains power up flash. That's normal with asus and gigabyte boards. I've been seeing that for many years now. I don't think it's a fault of any sort though. Il double check but I'm pretty sure it's a little power on self test of some sort. Update - what's happening is when erp is enabled and you power up from the mains for the first time the psu is briefly allowing power though the system before the erp kicks in and shuts everything off. The reverse effect is too have something that lights up hooked into a USB slot and shut down the system with erp off and the lights will remain lit up in the USB device because erp hasn't kicked in and shut off the USB power fully. If you like to charge stuff with the system off via USB then leave erp disabled but if like me you have loads of stuff hooked up via USB and more so if it lights up or is rgb then leave it enabled or power keeps going to the devices even though the system is off. I hope that helps buddy. Thanks for explaining, I decided to keep erp disabled on my hack 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/17/#findComment-2675152 Share on other sites

If you plug your phone into the system while it's off does it start charging? if so and it's a modern phone then you know its pushing out more, I don't like the thought of that.. lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/17/#findComment-2675164 Share on other sites

This is my first desktop Hackintosh and with your guide it was pretty straightforward My build: - Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro - Intel i5-8400 (leaving space for future upgrades) - 2x Crucial Ballistic Sport Lt 8GB - Kingston A400 SSD Sata3 (Hackintosh) - Adata XPG Gammix S10 M.2 PCIe SSD. (Windows 10) - Thermaltake Tt V200 and Thermaltake Smart RGB 600w PSU - TP-Link AC1900 Archer T9e Wi-Fi - Using iGPU because I'm still waiting for the GPU to arrive (Sapphire Pulse RX580 8GB) One comment: The XPG Gammix S10 M.2 PCIe SSD DIDN'T WORK OK for MacOS. After installation (that took a while) my mouse was laggy every time I copied a file. Did a Benchmark with Blackmagic and found that the SSD was running as low as 40 MB/s for reading... Tested with another partition in Windows and was working correctly (like 1500MB/s), so I changed the Mac installation to the SATA drive and the Windows to the M.2. Second comment: I've tested FHD video editing with integrated graphics and was pretty surprised how well it did to manage everything. Big thanks from Argentina! @mfortuna What EFI folder are you using, intel or RX580, and does your machine now have RX580 ? 11 hours ago, Charles375 said: Hello again, changing SMBIOS to iMac 18,3 and removing USB kexts lines was the solution thank you! larabee
@glasgood I finally had a chance to switch board to use the exact same one as yours. I'm running a newer BIOS version but everything works as expected. Looks like you have not updated the uploaded EFI folder for external graphic card to reflect the changes in the device properties for intel 630. After I added device-id --> 9B3E0000 and updated AAPL,ig-platform-id --> 0300923E , final cut works fast as expected but I lost the ability to track voltage for the HD630, but as long as it's working fine, then it doesn't matter. I just try to get the chip to turbo boost to 1GHz, It's been running around 600 Mhz on mine. panosru
@glasgood It seems that when I screwed the card on the case, it somehow pushed the card a bit out with an angle without me noticing it, I just noticed it and re-installed it properly, now it is normally detected by the system. The airdrop works fine but the lagging issue I had previous remains, unfortunately.. strange that from what I noticed it happens when I connect my BT keyboard, I have a Matias wireless aluminium keyboard, it works fine with my MacBook though, I guess Matias is not Hackintosh friendly after all... but even without the keyboard, the Bluetooth seems to be a bit laggy, I'm getting some disconnects here and there, and when I reboot the machine i have to reconnect my creative soundbar manually :/ Update: It seems that it is not an issue with the keyboard, my mouse is also lagging and the sound from BT soundbar comes "laggy / broken" as well, so I guess it is a general BT issue with my setup which I'm unable to figure out, I re-installed the OS several times but the issue remains. mfortuna
@glasgood @larabee I don't really understand the why but this is happening to me: Tried the new EFI folder, FCPX boots OK, everything works. When rendering (made the test with H.264) it takes more than the double of time than my older EFI (attached below). Also observed the booting with verbose and it took a while longer (don't know if that is because of first boot with the new EFI and kexts) and saw the lines in the picture attached. Spoiler I've been searching and found that this guy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u06QeN6KuRY&t=546s ), with iMac Pro SMBIOS made the AMD GPU work with quick sync and everything the iGPU usually does, achieving better export times. It has to do with a better GPU or maybe we can do this with our RX580-590? Another question: Is it necessary to put in config.plist the GPU properties? If it's empty MacOS just recognizes it and shows it up in "About this Mac". Thanks for reading!
